Why me? Algez wondered as the ground slipped out from beneath her. Trying to avoid a trap, she had wandered straight into one. Panicked, she looked around for something, anything to grab on to. Spying the vines above her, she searched for one that she thought might beat her weight. Her mind was in a rush as she tried to shove the panic down.
You're sinking, you're sinking! Her mind screamed out in panic. She shut off that portion of her mind and lunged, reaching up to clamp her jaws on the vine. Algez pulled her lower body out of the bog and rocked back and forth. She got some momentum going, swinging back and forth on the vine. Higher and higher she swung until she was sure that she would land on the other side.
She let go, flinging herself on the peak of the swing. She flew through the air, abiding on the very edge of the solid ground. Her back legs were in the bog, and she quickly scrambled to pull herself out.
Panting, she stood on the far shore. Her coat was caked in mud, and she had barely escaped her brush with the trap.
"What's next?" She wondered aloud.

As I walked, wondering how far I had left to go, I noticed a faerre ahead. I slowed my pace as I approached and jumped slightly as I was greeted. "H- Hello," I stammer in return with a nod. "Do you think you remember exactly what the shop keeper sells in both her shops?" I gulped. Was this part of the game, or just another faerre who needed help? Unsure of what to do, I found myself automatically nodding. What am I doing?! my mind screamed though I ignored it and slowly began to answer. "I think sells the items named Blue Orb, Green Orb, Red Orb, Orange Orb, Custom Orb..." My voice trailed off as I tried to recount all of my visits to the shop, but nothing more came. "That is all," I said flatly as I shuffled to the side, trying to pass the commoner.
But all of a sudden, I remembered another store. Not certain if they items would be of more value to the faerre, I decided to add them anyway. "they also sell Snow Globes, inventory slots, Fantastic masks, Toy swords, Picture frames, Golden dynamite dragon plushies, perfumes, cameras, keys and locks, Queen plushies and little pets."
{Wasn't sure if the items in the second paragraph were needed o3o Oh well, they're there now xD}

Ashenjay wrote:"Think you're so smart eh?" the storekeeper sneered, but still the creepy Faerre stepped away and merged into the shadows disappearing from sight. You shivered slightly, feeling her eyes still trained on your back you hastily made your retreat from the dark alley. Now back at the main streets of Srail you came across a fork in the road. Which road will you take?
The right or the left?
RighteousDream wrote:You neared the quivering pile, heart beating faster and faster… what could be waiting for you? A little rat? A prank? Or perhaps… You lifted the cloth aside to meet two beautiful eyes staring back at you.
"Congratulations. I'm Anneh, one of the Faerres hidden in the game." the Faerre smiled at you as it gingerly lifted itself from the pile of props and stepped out, showing it's beautiful designed pelt to you.
"I wish to spend this christmas outside exploring with a new companion… are you the one for me?" Anneh tilted her head to the side waiting and watching you.
You've found a Faerre! Convince Anneh to stay with you!

Picking up the round orb a small smile bloomed on your face. You've found a custom orb!

You continued on your way, your steps a little uneven and hesitant as you maneuver through the creepy wilderness. Perhaps fear had blinded your senses for you didn't realize until it was too late that you've walked straight into the path of a wild beast. The beast growled and hissed at you, annoyed at your interruption it lashed out at you, snapping it's jaws. Uh-oh… it seems a fight for survival is required here… The monster reared up on it's hind legs and swung it's claws at you… QUICK DEFEAT THE BEAST!
Azure23 wrote:Thanks to logical thinking you began trudging towards the Altar humming a soft song as you went on your merry way. What you didn't notice was the pair of eyes following your every move… nor the rope conveniently laid out on the road. Twang! You're lifted in the air as the rope twined around your legs and hanged you upside down. You struggled but it was in vain, you heard laughter from the side and found the two little twins from before giggling in a bush. "Fell right into the booby trap did he!" one twin laughed as the other bounded away to cut you free. You fell to the ground painfully and was about to snap at the little brats… but they've disappeared! Leaving you with your feet bound too! Curses! Now you'll have to hop with your feet tired together for the rest of the game! What an inconvenient liability! You wondered if you should continue to hop to the streets looking like this...?
Sarill wrote:You freed yourself from the dangerous bog, shaking off the excess mud you quickly scamped away from the dangerous pit. You wondered how many of these 'trials' you'll be able to suffer. Not much, that's all you know. You heard shuffling from the side and you veered around to find a traveler looking at you. "Hey there! Mind helping out a lost traveler?" Since you have nothing better to do, you decided to listen to the traveler. "I seem to have stumbled into Vinara… and I've heard of the famous Altar… but I don't see it here. Do you think you can describe what the Altar looks like?"
LostWhisper wrote:The Faerre grinned, "Thanks a lot friend! Now I can go shop for the items!" with that the Faerre disappeared from the gardens leaving the road empty and unblocked. You followed the crooked path until the sound of water splashing drew your attention. Following your instincts you followed the sound of water until you reached a water fountain! The water fountain was a gorgeous structure with Mer-Faerres sculpted in the base and possibly a figure of one of the Faerre gods holding a flower that spews water from it's center. As you admire the beautiful fountain, your eyes caught a glimpse of something… what is that? Now curious you wondered if you should investigate or leave it alone?

September gasps in wonder and awe as she looks at the beautiful faerre. "Wow! I've never seen a faerre like you before... your coat is so beautiful!" Remembering what the faerre had said, September begins trying to woo her.
"My name's September and I'm really not from around here. I'm on a quest you see, a Christmas quest of sorts. I've had to write poems, answer riddles, and do all sorts of fun things, I've been having the time of my life! Anyway, I'd love it if you came with me. It gets kind of lonely and having someone else would make the adventure even more fun! We could help each other with the riddles and I promise to you that together we could have the best Christmas ever! We could play in the snow and have great adventures together. I swear on my pelt that you and I would make great friends." September smiled and held out her paw, "Want to adventure with me?"
"If the burden seems too much to bear, remember the end will justify the pain it took to get us there." {art by @znackish, divider by hvrtful}

Algez eyed the traveler, wary of another trap. When one didn’t seem forthcoming she relaxed, listening to the question. “The Alter, hmm?” She pulled up all of her memories of the beautiful place, holding it in her mind’s eye. “Well, the Alter is a building in the middle of Vinara. It is made of beautiful oak wood, and carved with all sorts of designs. I think that they are carvings of faerre myths, actually. Any faerre wishing to leave is presented at the Alter, and suitors have a chance to woo him or her. Does that help? I hope that you find it, the Alter is a truly majestic building.” Well, that wasn’t so bad, Algez thought to herself. Better than the bog, by far.

She was surprised, that's for sure, but her shock quickly wore away to be replaced with another emotion - happiness. Not only did she actually find something - or someone, as was the case - in this round, but as far as she knew she was pretty much the first as well! Unable to hold back a little gasp of joy, Mikomi's lips curved up into a delighted smile. Inwardly, she couldn't help squealing. 'Ohmygosh she is really cute. Just, the way she acts is really ... adorable! Wow, is this how others feel towards me some times? No wonder I find it annoying ... But I just can't help myself!' Attempting to remain serene, she tipped her head respectfully towards the Faerre, pondering the tactics she should employ to convince the Faerre to be a companion to her. 'Hmm. Well judging from the state of the room,' She thought, taking another look around the room, 'she likes food. Probably a lot.' An idea struck her and the cat placed one dark, delicate paw in front of the other as she sat down, tail waving from side to side.
"Yes, that I am - a participant in the game that is. I'm Mikomi Lunae, but please, call me Mikomi - or Miko, whatever you wish. It's nice to meet you!" Manners, she had learned from a young age, were the key to diplomacy. "You know, I'm just curious but, what's your favourite food?" Her question was phrased innocently, but the cat had a plan. It wasn't particularly well-formed or even extraordinarily effective, but hopefully it would work. "Personally, I don't have a favourite food. There are so many different things to try out, delicacies from all over the world, and I haven't even been to half of the exotic countries out there!" She smiled at the Faerre, a genuine smile that had her wistfully wondering when her life of adventure would start. "I've actually been meaning to travel for a long time now, you know. I may seem like a regular cat," and Mikomi sprouted tiny, chibi wings here. "... But perhaps my abilities, far from being completely ordinary, may come in handy." Stretching out a small paw, she posed a question, a request left hanging up in the air.
Of course, Neelie wasn't at all obliged to accept it, but just possibly, maybe, she might. "Will you come be my friend in my travels - and plausibly more importantly - my taste-tester?"

Right or left...
Citrin frowned and fidgeted, eyes darting side to side, wondering which way to choose.
She tried to peer as far as she could, but couldn't see anything important.
She thought about which side was better...she was both-handed(or pawed), so she didn't really have a preference.
She tipped her head, and decided to do a silly thing-
Citrin spun around until she was dizzy and the world was moving, and then stumbled over to one side of the fork. When she became normal again, she realized that she had gone to the left side.
Shrugging, she turned and continued on the left road.

The sound of running water enchanted me. I wanted to leap forward and fund the source but I kept my pace steady. It was soon I saw a fountain, and a gasp escaped my small jaws. "Oh my!" were the only words that I could muster. Rushing forward, I pushed my head into the cool water until my fur was dripping, and raised my head again. But something caught my eye. I spun around and looked at the area I had glimpsed the thing, stepping forward nervously. My instinct told me not to move any further but the feeling of excitement had washed over me, forcing my paws to move on-wards. I gave in and followed my paws as I decided to investigate.
