How she got her starry mane:; See story (sorry, I just don't want to spoil it :3).


Story:;
Nebula was an astronomer. She loved studying the stars, looking for patterns in the deep, black, sky. So, when she was given an invitation to come on the space shuttle S.S. Kitty, she was thrilled. She prepared for months, and finally it was the day of the launch. Nebula felt the huge shuttle vibrating. Holding tightly to her seatbelt, she and the other astronauts held their breaths and pressed the Ignition button.
And they were off, rocketing through the sky. Nebula was starstruck- her eyes enlarged as the planets and stars passed by.

After a week of space travel (Bitty Kitties have much more sophisticated space technology than humans), they had reached the Cat's Eye nebula- the place that Nebula was named for. The whole crew was silent, gazing out into the beautiful colors of the nebula. As Nebula stepped outside, covered head to paw in a special, pressurized, suit, the nebula started to move.
"It was like magic", recalled one crew member. "As soon as Nebula stepped outside, it seemed like all of space was shaking. The Cat's Eye Nebula was spinning- and Nebula was spinning with it. She whizzed around and around, holding on to the rope connecting us for dear life- until it snapped. Nebula was sent spiraling out into space. We thought we'd lost her. There wasn't a dry eye on the shuttle- Nebula was a good friend to all of us. She was kind, and always sensitive to everyone's emotions. Sadly, we turned around to leave, but then- the airlock opened! And there was Nebula, no spacesuit at all. She was different, to say the least. Huge, blue, wings sprouted from her shoulders. Her eyes had acquired a starry fire, one that no water could quench. And, from her head and tail, the nebula streamed from her body. It glowed like every star in the universe. And it never stopped.
