I was left alone. My family ran away as soon as I could walk and eat. Their retreating figures still haunt me in the night. I remember my mother the most. She was beautiful. A pure white bunny with a silver streak on her tail. She was the only one who looked back at me with tears in her eyes as she walked away. My father was different. He was a midnight blue, so dark that it was almost black. He had a small light blue sign on his ear. It was a crescent moon. He was the one who decided to leave me. Then there was my sister. She inherited more of our father's colouring and that's probably why they kept her. She was the colour of violets, with darker, indigo spots on her face and tail. Her eyes were mauve and she had silver paws. She didn't really care if something happened to me. I was too light according to them. But, I guess they were wrong. I managed to survive, anyway. Not that it was easy. In fact, it was a lot of work. I was safest in the winter. The snow would fall and I would be almost invisible to anybody. Autumn was harder. I had to hide under leaves and cover myself with black paint to survive. Spring wasn't that bad. Many bunnies came out and I could mix in with them. Summer was the worst. I could only come out during the night and had to hide under benches and in buildings. I almost got caught a few times. Somehow, I managed to find a home in the end. A girl named Rose saw me in one of my usual hiding places. She took me in and I still live with her now.
