Alright i have a bit of a question,
I see this species originates in the desert and they prefer warm places, would one be able to have been "adopted" in a way and taken to a place that resembles what the coast of modern day Australia would be?

I was thinking about possibly applying for the one in the pound and using my post apocalyptic group of characters to do so.

Their world is mostly covered in uninhabitable desert-lowlands and pollution, with the extreme north & south polls covered in a thick layer of frozen poluted water, and the extreme center, were the modern day equator is, is mild tropic lands.

one more question on my mind before i start, are they capable of human speech/ communication in any way at all to humans?

and how would they communicate to one another? Would they understand each other or would it be more or less like simple gestures, a growl so show dominance/aggression, sniffing for curiosity.. ect.

sorry for all the questions, i like getting a feel for a species i'm going to write about.
