Thank you!^^ (It's okay if the book disappears; as long as the little Time Traveler will enjoy it.^^) I decided to draw some Ahz lines today, and I am excited to put Vaxt onto them! Once again, thank you very much.^^

After Vaxt's departure, the Elemental going off on his next adventure, things grew quiet in Ahzen. But, of course, the silence did not last long.

A day of festivities had begun; Quite a few suitors and owners alike came boasting shirts and flags, noisemakers and sparklers to celebrate Veterans' Day 2013. As night fell on the communal buzz, many suitors (and some Ahzenai) shared stories of family, spouses, and friends that had served in the military, some ending in hearty laughs, others ending in tears of both sadness and joy. Children and the hyper Ahz ran in circles, holding multi-colored sparklers and playing tag. A few suitors were holding a cannonball competition in the lake that surrounded the Vortex,their Ahzenai watching with disbelief; it was too cold to swim!

As everyone settled into their groups, mingling and celebrating, the Vortex began doing what it did best: catching suitors by surprise and birthing a new Ahzenai into the world. Only, this one wasn't so new.

As the white Vortex suddenly became bathed in various shades of greens and blacks, there was a collective gasp as stories were dropped and attentions were shifted to the new Ahzenai making his way into the world. It wasn't long before the suitors hurriedly began gathering to greet the new arrival, though Valcyon was much calmer in making his way to the announcement stone.

Soon enough, a pale green paw emerged from the Vortex, marked as if he were wearing fingerless gloves. He slipped out of the comforting energy with no flair, only a perfectly straight gaze as his paws hit Earth again. He didn't miss a beat, falling into military cadence immediately, moving forward to meet the tightly clustered pack of suitors vying to get a better view. Coming to a perfect halt, paws aligned with precision, the Ahzenai cleared his throat. Valcyon went to announce his name, but, upon listening to the Vortex whisper in his mind, he cocked his head slightly. This Ahzenai had no name; he had been through so much in a past life that it was lost to the sands of time. (Maybe Vaxt could find it?)

Taking over for Valcyon, the male Ahzenai softly cleared his throat. "Petty Officer First Class, reporting for duty, sir!" He said in a strong, deep voice.

"At ease, soldier," Valcyon replied easily.

Taking a seat on the cool sand, the male Ahzenai seemed to relax slightly. Grey etched around his muzzle; he wasn't a young gun anymore, and he hated to admit that he had more aches and pains than he thought proper. "My apologies I have no name to give you, nor any memories of my scars. I can only imagine where they're from, but I have no definitive proof," he sighed. "I'm getting on in years, I'm afraid; I know that many Ahzenai that come out of the Vortex are young and ready for adventure, but it is not so with me. I'd prefer somewhere nice and quiet to settle down; have a lifetime to relax, if at all possible," he smiled softly. "And maybe one day I'll remember the past, but I can't promise any good stories."

He will be judged in 3 days!

So a special Ahzenai for Veteran's Day!
Thank a veteran when you see one; every day, not just today.
I've made the competition a bit interesting; this Ahz I'm permitting you to name yourself.
But get creative! Maybe name him after a family member that was a veteran, or a famous soldier?
Then Woo him; make him want to live with your suitor! But I'm going to set the limit at 850 words.
Quick tip: I love details and strong descriptions. Go ahead, tug at my heart strings.

As Vaxt found a new home and the suitors went about their day, Neosia and I simply sat off to the side and watched from a distance. She seemed contently happy without going on any sort of adventures like the other Ahz were which was fine with me, I wasn't a fan of traveling either unless it was something that seemed amazing. Both of our attentions were grabbed by the Vortex as it began to have a fit which told us a new Ahz was about to appear. Neosia had moved herself into a sitting position so she could see what this one would look like and once he appeared, she seemed mesmerized by him in every way. As I watched her reaction, I smiled and laid back and said to her, "If you are so interested in him why don't you go say something." She grinned and slowly made her way over to him, cautiously but with an attitude that showed she was open.
Once she was finally there, she sat down and waited for the other suitors to die away so she could finally say something to him. "So you were in the military..? questioning curiously. "Um..my suitor and I don't really travel, we mainly sit around like the small family we are and simply talk and share stories so we get to know each other better." She shifted her weight slightly and glanced over at me and I gave a simply wave to her to show her I was there if she needed me. her gaze turned back to the unnamed male before her, black and sea foam green tail swished a little behind her as she searched her mind for words but finally realized what she was doing, sitting there saying nothing. "Maybe you can come over to where we sit and you can tell us a little bit about what it was like being a soldier. I would never be able to experience it myself but it would mean a lot hearing it come from someone like you, I know I could learn a lot." By this time I had finally got up and walked over to where they were and asked, "It wouldn't hurt would it? To be honest, I'm a little curious as well."
