I would like to know why I wasn't allowed to adopt ay of the characters I applied for?
I'm not a good writer, I usually can only do like 2 paragraphs. I am a person of few words, art is where I have my niche.
Please consider these things when you judge applications in the future.

Sorry, but we can't only judge a form for art. I honestly think that the judges look more into the quality and quantity than art.

We understand that not all are writers, but it is a good way for us to judge who the character should go to.
If you would like crit on your writing then one of the crit staff would be more than happy to help you out. Or possibly myself if I had the time.

Additionally, we don't look just for quantity. We look for quality, too. I do tend to prefer forms presented in multiple, well-written paragraphs, however, as apposed to short forms, unless they have exceptional quality.

where valar is from, creatures had no names for each other. names formed bonds, and bonds were forbidden. ruled by violence, valar had no name for himself until he left- when he was given 'valar' by his group. it means 'brave'- he is a survivor, so it is fitting.

use] okay, I'm a little bit in love with this guy <3 if I got him, valar would be adored. he would have a home on my character thread [link is in my signature], where all my active characters live. he would have regular art [from myself included], and I would write about him just as much! he gives me so much muse; and I would love the chance to explore his character further. I may even roleplay him, depending on the plot/literacy of the ones I find. all in all, I love him, and I would be delighted if I could take him home.

personality] valar, for the most part, is the good guy. despite his incredibly rough start in life, he turned out pretty well- a tight set of morals, a decent outlook; he formed his psychology the best he could. saying this, he does have a very poor sense of self. put yourself in his shoes- you grew up for five years in a place that stripped you of who you are; you have no name, no friends, no speech [speaking is against the law], no one to comfort you- you lose who you are. or in valar's case, he never discovered who he was until he left; he still struggles in defining himself, and sometimes even forgets he has a name now. wip

The voice cut through the night like a knife, and Valar's body jerked in surprise. What on earth? Casting a wary glance over the sleeping thicket, he found no trace of movement- the others were asleep, and the shadow of the nightguard reassured him that it wasn't his authority that had awakened him. Heart pounding in his ears, the stallion shifted quietly from his awkward position on the forest floor, almost waiting for the guard to beat him for being awake at this time of night. But the guard clearly hadn't heard, continuing to stare out at the moonlight-drenched trees, away from the hostages. "Hey, cloth ears. Over here." The voice came again, and this time Valar spun his head to the source of the noise. Through the brambles of the thicket, a strange face glared down at him. An unfamiliar face. An intruder. No, that was impossible. The guards would never let a stranger pass onto their territory- let alone get so close to the group of Phyraex they called the 'prisoners'. "Get up!" The other insisted, making no move to lower his voice. They'll hear you! Be quiet! Valar's mind screamed at it, but not a sound left his mouth- the 'no talking' policy really wasn't worth crossing. They'd killed the last speaker. Fear had seized him by the throat, and the mousy dun stallion anxiously turned to peer up at the guard again, astounded they had not even registered the noise. The other stallion was mostly white- an odd colour for one of his species, with splashes of chestnut; he'd never seen one as light as this. Who are you? What do you want? But of course, Valar said nothing. The white stallion gave a sudden exhalation; "I forget- you can't speak. Sorry about that. My name is Asai; I'm here to free you. And you might want to be quick about getting up, the guard won't be asleep forever." Asleep. That makes more sense now.

nymeria is frequently nicknamed 'nym' by her friends. no particular reason- it's just an affectionate pet name.

I especially love her little face mask <3 nym is just precious, and if I was lucky enough to win her, she would be loved half to death! she, like the other two, would have a home on my character thread, with regular art [as much as I can afford!] and musings; she's so special, and I would be so happy if I won her. I think she'd get along with the rest of my horse herd- we'll see <3

personality] nymeria is one of those souls that are born gentle. she can't stand to see anything in pain or hurt, and shies away from conflict. she's pretty sensitive, especially when it comes to her friends- she often feels quite overwhelmed if something bad happens. she struggles to cope with negative events at times, as her emotions tend to run away with her. nym goes through phases of depression- something she's quite private about- during which she finds it hard to communicate, and her mood hits rock bottom. you see it described as manic depression , or bipolar disorder; 'alternating moods of abnormal highs [mania] and lows [depression]. called bipolar disorder because of the swings between these opposing poles in mood. A type of depressive disease. bipolar disorder is often a chronic recurring condition.'. as you can see, this makes her life very difficult at times. she can also suffer visual hallucinations, though she'll deny it if you ask her. these hallucinations can range from something as subtle as a flower on the ground, to something as horrifying as her surroundings strewn with corpses. nym's reality is therefore hard to pin down- and these episodes are terrifying for her; she cannot decipher what is real life, and what is her hallucinations. she relies heavily on valar and asai to protect her from these problems, and simply could not survive without them.

Nym hadn't been awake long before she saw them. It astounded her how they always came as a surprise- but no matter how she tried, she never escaped them. They were there. The shadows. In the corner of her vision, flickering like black flames of some cobwebbed candle; breaking through the veil, growing closer and closer.
