It was a pouring afternoon, where rain met earth relentlessly for hours, where leaves gets thrown into a complicated duet with the wind, and where thunder roared the sky's distaste. And it was such an afternoon, that Tsug felt it appropriate to leave his homeland. He had always felt a deep connection with the rain, hearing it's soft pattering as it hits the roof above really soothes him. Stepping forward from the parted curtains the young male performed a grand bow, hiding a smirk from the audience that seem to be composed of more umbrellas than living creatures.
"Good afternoon creatures young and old, big and small. I'm Tsug, one that has a deep connection with stormy, grey clouds." he chuckled softly. "I'm not a mage though, I'm a simple farmer who spends most of his days watching the sky than actual farming. I think it's time I move from farming and explore the outside world. I like observing the sky and especially love dancing in the rain." Tsug laughed. "What are your favorite weathers?"
Tsug will be judged in 5 days, 30th July, 2012 HK time
Character for woo: Lilith, an adolescent dragon
Lilith chuckled with pleasure as the rain splashed against her scaly hide and stuck out her long, pointed tongue in an attempt to catch a few drops. What a wonderful surprise! This storm would definitely make her trip more enjoyable! She had already come a long way and was starting to tire out. The rain made her feel more refreshed and the rustling of leaves in the wind provided calming music. Flicking her tufted tail, she continued along the dirt path that was quickly turning to mud. She was nearly there, but was running short on time. She’d have to pick up the pace if she wanted to hear the Faerre’s introduction. Crouching low and straightening her neck, Lilith streaked down the path, splashing muddy water in her wake.
Upon reaching the Altar, Lilith’s blue hide was caked with mud from the chest down. She didn’t bother trying to clean it off. It felt nice on her skin and would be quickly washed away by the rain anyways. The light rain that she had encountered earlier had turned into a torrent. As she made her way closer to the stage where the Faerre would appear, the creatures already surrounding it kept their distance, seemingly not wanting to get any mud transferred over to them. Her sharp storm-green eyes noted the strange coverings most of them donned and the odd stick things they held that kept the rain off. Lilith was puzzled. Why was there any need to avoid the rain? A sudden clap of thunder rumbled across the sky soon after she had settled in a spot just behind the front line of the crowd. Lilith was surprised to see many creatures flinch; a few even giving startled yelps. Were they…afraid of the thunder? She always felt a thrill when she heard thunder, but it had been nowhere close to fear. The thought that thunder had been even slightly scary had never crossed her mind! She turned her head from one creature in particular that had burst into tears when the murmurs of the crowd indicated that today’s Faerre had finally revealed himself.
The Faerre was patterned with something like brown-tinted versions of creeping storm clouds that stretched across his fur. If he had stood next to her, he would have barely come up a third of the way of Lilith’s leg. After he introduced himself, she was happy to discover that Tsug enjoyed stormy weather. She had been worried that the Faerre presenting today would have disliked it. Most creatures with fur that she had encountered didn’t like it much. Something about mud being difficult to get out of their coats and such.
As soon as Tsug finished speaking, a makeshift line formed at the edge of the stage. Lilith pondered over how to answer the question he had ended his introduction with while she waited for her chance to speak. She did love storms but there was something she loved just a bit better and she wanted to phrase it as best as she could. The line slowly crept forward as her tail twitched with concentration until she finally came up to the front of the line.
She climbed up the steps and walked across the stage, adding to the muddy trail of footprints left behind by the previous visitors. Thankfully the mud she had collected from her mad dash before had washed off somewhere in the middle of the line and wasn’t able to make more of a mess then she already had. She stopped about six feet away from Tsug so she could look at him more comfortably while she talked and sat down.
“It’s nice to meet you Tsug. I’m Lilith.” She smiled. “I heard of Faerres from a distant relative of mine and came out curiosity to see what they were like. I’m planning to leave my homeland soon and search for a place to call my own, and having a companion along wouldn’t hurt. I’d be happy if you joined me. You see, most of the people I know don’t like storms as much as I do, and since you like them so much, I think we’d get along really well. But my favorite kind of weather isn’t the storm itself. Instead, it’s what happens right after a storm.” Lilith’s eyes shone with excitement. “The clouds break, and the sun shines on a world that’s newly born. Everything glistens with water droplets and the air smells fresh and clean. Sharp lines are softened, but still keep their crisp feel. New paths are laid along fallen leaves and branches. Bigger changes are even more fascinating. Great trees that had been standing for many years are felled and splintered create new shelters and little universes to discover. Whole hillsides fall away and expose the mysteries beneath. The world after a storm is full of mysteries.” Lilith gave a mischievous grin. “Not to mention all the mud puddles! It’s fun to shape something out of the mud and have it harden in the sun, though it is a little troublesome to get it off my scales.”
She got up and stretched, causing some of the rain that had collected in between her scales to drip onto the wooden floor.
“Well, that’s about everything I wanted to say. I’ll wait for your decision on who you’ll choose to join. See you!”
With that, Lilith jumped off the stage and splashed into a large puddle that had formed in the clearing before the Altar. A few creatures got splashed with the muddy water and grumbled angrily at her. Lilith simply stuck out her tongue and walked towards the group that had already given their speeches to Tsug.
They need to loosen up a bit. No matter what you do, you’re always going to get wet in one way or another in a storm!
Tsug Has ChosenWith every strike of thunder, the creatures gathered below seem to shy away from the Altar more frequently as they realized that the structure is probably the tallest there is in the city and it probably tempts the thunder gods to try to strike it and set the beautiful oak structure in flames. Tsug could barely contain his laughter and strong urge to yell with the thunder as he listened half-heartedly to all the speeches presented to him. He was fascinated to find several creatures who share the same love for rainy days and even more amused when others try to introduce and sell their own favorite season like a business Faerre.
When one creature, particularly BIG creature stepped up on the stage -that sent the whole structure creaking in protest- Tsug glanced up in surprise as a passing bolt of lightning lit up the majestic creature's features for a split second. "Hey there!" Tsug chuckled, craning his neck upwards to meet the dragon's gaze. As he listened to her introduction his dark colored eyes followed the scales that outlines the giant reptilian, observing how the mud seem to glide right over them and land with a plop on the stage. Half listening, half thinking, the Faerre stood up and approached the dragon, walking under it's torso and right under one of it's limbs when plop! a pile of mud slid onto him and drenched him from head to toe. Tsug stood stunned for a moment before a wide smile broke out, without waiting for the end of Lilith's speech Tsug proudly says, "I will go with you!"
