Name You'd Choose for It: Asili
Gender: Female
Reason You Want It: I have a story in the making, and i am looking for unique characters that i can really get into and bring to life on paper. Her design is beautiful, simple and unique. I love the idea of having a blind character, and I have many ideas on how I could put her into my stories. I’ve already got the plot scripted in my head.
History/Background/Other: Asili walked over to her teacher, her mouth full of large green leaves, she set them down at her paws “Are these the right ones?” Hekima looked at the leaves, and nodded, forgetting once again, that his student couldn’t see the gesture. “Are they?” she pressed again. “Yes! Now go get me some moss and soak it, or she may die!” as he spoke, he gestured to the black wolf lying on the floor of the cave, her shoulder sliced open by a grizzly. Asili quickly trotted over to the moss, and grasped a chunk in her mouth, carrying it over to the pool; she dipped it in the water and let it soak for a moment before taking it out again. She trotted quickly over to where her teacher was tending the wounded wolf and set the moss down near the leaves she had already brought, he glanced over and said a curt “Well done” as though it was a huge achievement for her ,she would have growled and confronted him about it had a patient not been there. Hekima looked at Asili and said with disdain “Go now. There’s nothing more to be done that you’re capable of doing.” Asili spun around to where she’d pinpointed him to be by his voice, and growled “I’m just as capable of healing as a normal wolf I-“ She would have continued, but the wolf on the floor started coughing violently and they both turned to look at her. Hekima placed his ear to the wolf’s chest and sighed “Come listen to this.” Asili walked slowly to where his voice was, and said in a clipped tone “Listen to what?” Hekima answered softly “Her lungs, when they get that sound in them, death is soon to follow.” Asili was horrified that he would be so blunt about it right in front of their patient, but obeyed without comment and walked over to listen to the poor wolf’s dying breaths. “Did you hear it?” Hekima asked. Asili nodded and whispered “yes, I heard, it sounded like water.” Hekima sighed again “Yes it does, and every time they start sounding like that, the wolf will die very soon after.” It was now nighttime and Asili was curled up to sleep, but couldn’t, the conversation just kept replaying in her mind. “I have to think of a way to fix it” she whispered softly before she slipped into a dreamless sleep. The idea came to her the next day as she heard a few of the soldiers talking about the other pack that lives on the other side of the mountain, and how they’d been having trouble with grizzlies also. “I think Shiko is being foolish not to speak with Aquillius and work together to drive the grizzlies away from both packlands.” Said one, the others were agreeing with him. Asili nodded to herself “That’s exactly what I’ll do, I’ll find the other pack, ask their healers about the water-lung, and then ask for their leader, Aquillius, to bring some soldiers and come with her and hopefully create a temporary peaceful alliance.
Her story obviously continues through her difficult journey across the mountians, meeting many creatures, both friendly and not. As she has to prove she comes in peace when she finally does make it, and convincing them to bring a convoy with her back to her packland. Then the problem of the grizzlies
Personality:
She is kind to others, and though not prone to holding grudges, it is hard for her to forget when others wrong her. Being blind, her hearing and smell are better than a normal wolf’s would be, and she is proud of that. She hates it when other treat her as if she is totally useless, and will go out of her way to prove them wrong, even if it means putting herself directly in harm’s way. She isn’t interested in males at all, and being blind, none give her a second glance. She is very elegant in her movements when she knows the ground she’s covering, but otherwise she’s usually pretty clumsy. She’ll trip or knock things over occasionally, and when she does, she’ll get really defensive and angry if someone tries to help her.
]I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it. Yes I do.
