Name:EpsilonGender:Male Species:Lithuanian Heavy Draught X Shire horse
Spirit Walker | Guardian of the dead-----
Kennel Number:38Why would you like this character?:Although he may have the most exciting design, I'm really attracted to this young man. Natural colouring can be really nice, but can also look terrible. He has been designed perfectly to make him quite simple but handsome at the same time. Those are the types of characters I would really like at the moment, as complicated characters are hard to get art of.
I'd like to start my own mini herd of equine characters as there are so many possible designs. Oro, my only reffed horse character at the moment, would absolutely adore having some company. What will you do for this character?:If I win him... I'll edit Oro's post to make it into a herd post instead of on her own. He'll receive art when I can find reasonably priced equine artists on here, and shall be roleplayed and drawn by myself. Although some of the drawings may never be seen by any but me, since I don't exactly like my drawings... Uncertain as I am on the subject, he will probably have mates and foals.-----
Personality:The young stallion is a mixture of different personalities all absorbed by one body. He exhibits a strong sense of family, but not as most would take it as. He doesn't take it as literally. To him, everyone in his Spirit world herd is family in their own way... After herding them across worlds, he had gotten attached to them all. Although that isn't saying very much, as he has been known to get attached to things incredibly easily which could get him into trouble later in life... Even with the strong connection to the herd, he had stayed mostly isolated for many years due to his 'occupation'. The Spirit Walker was shrouded in mystery, so many avoided him due to rumours or just plain fear. He was certainly powerful, but he didn't want to use it that way. He didn't need fear to survive... All he required to survive was his own willpower and determination. There was plenty of that in him.
For a young stallion, he was actually quite quiet, almost shy when you first met him... That's not a bad thing... It made him quite nervous but eager for success... To make his parents proud, and to answer the call of duty he had inside of him. He felt responsible for every soul that crossed the borders into the meadows of his homeland, which made him very protective over them... But again, eager to please... It made any praise he received even better.-----
History:The cool winds lightly kissed the dunes as they gently glided through the arid landscape. The bright sun beating down on his back, the young stallion wheezed, usually strong legs buckling under the weight he was carrying. Dehydration was clawing at his body, commanding him to give up. The idea was tempting, but he was forced to overlook it, enduring the searing pain that danced within him like a flame, but as it intensified, he found that the hold that the world had on him was weakening... Gradually his eyes closed, becoming more and more distant as the seconds ticked away. Silence fell on the dunes, allowing his ears to focus on the unearthly voice calling to him from the great beyond. It was only faint. Nothing more than a whisper on the wind, but it was there... The familiar call that had once been his, beckoning to him. Reaching out to take him back to the world he once knew... Home.
---
A calming breeze swept through the familiar valley that his family had called home for many generations, frolicking in the seemingly endless stretches of flowers. The rolling green hills were sticky with dew, glittering with magic as the sun peeked above the horizon. Coming alive with sounds as the many inhabitants started to wake. The skies were once again home to the flurry of birds, sweet songs echoing through the previous silence. This was a world of serenity. One that few were born to, but one that everyone visited at some point during their fleeting existence. Although the world was occupied by a wide variety of spectacular creatures, there were none quite so spectacular as the horses.
Led by an individual of noble birth, the herd accepted all into it's ranks. There were horses of all different shapes, sizes, colours and breeds, but they were all one on the inside. United by a connection that ran deeper than any had done before, but like with anything, there were the exceptions. This is where our story truly begins...
---
It was obvious from birth that the foal would be different. Being born in the spirit world wasn't easy, so many didn't make it... It wasn't that they died, since they were born dead, but they were erased from existence. In a way, it was kind on the parents as they just forgot, but it was also sad, as the Spirit Walker would remember, as it was his job to remember. Just being alive was enough of a miracle for the colt, but there was more. Unlike all of the other horses in the herd, he displayed potential in phasing. Shifting between the worlds... An ability that very few possessed. The Spirit Walker, as it was called, had to be born in the spirit world but move between both without trapping himself. Although his abilities were insufficient to actually achieve travel, these would be honed by the current Spirit Walker, then he would rise to meet his destiny...
---
The Spirit Walker that had trained him passed away when he reached 2 years. His training had been completed prior to his passing and they had separated for several months, but it still hit him hard... The others would never remember. To them, he had always been the Spirit Walker, but he could remember everything. As was the way of the one that walked between the worlds. The touch of his mentor's velvet soft nose on his neck as a foal, his stern voice whenever he made a mistake, the kind old eyes as he calmly explained what the poor colt couldn't understand and how could he forget the silver hawk feather that he had given him as a protective charm... Almost as if he was watching over him.
Now it was his turn to take up the role given to him at birth. Although he had done it in practise many times, now that it came to the real thing, he was actually very worried. There was no safety net, no one to come and rescue him if he got stuck... Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes, allowing the strange sensation to take hold of him... The ground beneath his hooves was reduced to fine sand as everything was broken up into tiny pieces, which in turn got smaller until there was nothing left. In reality, it was his own body that was disappearing into sand, scattered on the hills of the spirit world by the wind until his return, but he only knew what he could sense around him. He was still young, and although he had been taught everything that could be taught to him... He had much to learn.
---
The world between worlds was blank in comparrison to the spirit world. It was vast, but featureless, with nothing to call it's own. The souls that had crossed from the other world could have wandered for an eternity before being located by a Spirit Walker, at least what awaited them on the other side was better than this. All he could do was hope that he would never have to wander the white hills, searching for loved ones or those that had gone astray...
Rearing up onto his powerful back legs, the young stallion called out to all the lost souls, informing them of his location so that he could ferry them over where they should be. -----

I will be here
when you think you’re all alone
Seeping through the cracks
I’m the poison in your bones
My love is your disease
I won't let it set you free
Til I break you
You’ll never know what hit you
Won’t see me closing in
I’m gonna make you suffer
This hell you put me in
I’m underneath your skin
The devil within
You’ll never know what hit you
I tried to be the lover to your nightmare
Look what you made of me
Now I’m a heavy burden that you can’t bear
Look what you made of me
Look what you made of me
I’ll make you see

^^ I'll try to write something decent for him. He is a gorgeous character ♥ Although I adore the second mare/filly that you donated as well.
