- About the character -
Name: Basin the Wanderer
Gender: Male
Species and/or specific breed: Basin is a black-capped Chickadee wolf. These rare types of wolves were thought to be extinct, with the exeption of Basin. He does not have much anything special in appearences however, except for his wings, which are common to his species. His wings, which are 3ft. 3 inches long, do not allow him to fly for a long period of time, but can hover. They give him a rather majestic appearence. His tail, back legs, and top of his head are black. The bottom half of his head is a snow white color, as well as the fur on his belly. His front two legs are tan, which blend in with the desert sand. The rest of his body is a light gray, as well as his eyes, which portray his great intelligence.
Personality: You could describe Basin as being "Down to Earth." He has never wanted explore beyond his horizons, and is content to stay in his Desert home. To Basin, duty is the most important thing in life, and he will never sway from that. Love and dreams do not matter to him. He stays in reality. Despite his rather gruff exterior, he is one of the most kind wolves you will ever meet. He is not known to yell or to anger easily, and is a wonderful comrade to have by your side. Basin pays great attention to nature, and is wise because of it. He studies the wind, Earth, and skies, because of being alone, it is a hobby. Never minding being isolated from the outside world, he travels the desert gaining knowledge and helping lost travelers, though he makes sure his face is not remembered.
History/Background: Ever since he was a little pup, he had stayed by his father's side. He lived in the Imel Desert, a place where few can survive, but he and his father were special wolves, well adapted to live in this harsh place. Their kind could live off of nothing but small plants, as they were very strict vegetrians. Their species had been few over the past century, and now they were one of the few left. People called them "Guardians" and "Saviors of Daylight" because they would never turn someone in need away. Basin's father was a wise wolf, sometimes traveling to far away villages to warn others of misfortune he had found in the wind. No, neither Basin or his father could tell what the future held, as this was impossible. They could only make small, varied predictions, given to them by what others thought was god. by the time Basin was almost fully grown, his father was near death. He said to Basin, "Do what is right, always. Guide those in need of finding daylight. I will see you in the daylight, my son." Basin never forgot his father's words, and stayed in the Desert, guarding his father's grave. After about another three years, Basin had helped many lost and weary travelers, who were crossing the Imel Desert. Everyone in the neighboring villages knew he was still alive, though for some odd reason they could never find him. To this day Basin continues his father's legacy as a "Savior of Daylight." And he has earned the title, "Basin the Wanderer."

This is a poem one traveler wrote about his savior:
Laying beneath the sand, heat everywhere,
My life seeps away unbecoming.
My family alone, without one to care for them.
An illusion appears, a miracle more like.
He cared for me, and hid his face,
But I knew who he was.
Oh Savior of Daylight,
Continue in your ways, as I am only one of many.
