Goennec Pen #:
W1
Name:
Relief
[It works perfectly; his markings look just like they could be raised/sunken artworks. And I love the idea of nicknaming him 'Reli.' <3]
Rank:
Soldier
Why do you want this goennec?:
I knew I had to try for this adorable ram before I even saw the others. He's exactly what I tend to fall in love over when it comes to designs- I absolutely have a weakness for creams and whites and browns and bright eyes. [This is probably quite evident from the Goeys that I typically to try out for, ahah.] I completely, totally, wholly adore him. I love the concept of his markings being like some type of ancient relief, and I'm in love with those brilliant, blue-green eyes. I'm guessing few rams would want to be called pretty, but I'm sorry, that's one hundred percent what he is. [His mane looks like vanilla ice-cream. So cute! ;-;<33
His story came to me very easily, and I love the place that he'd have within my herd. Reli would be a perfect foil to Thrice, a wonderful role model to Peter, a dear companion to Æfen, and would have the coveted role of occasionally telling Will to just shut up.
There are few things more fun than working out all the different relationships within a group of characters, and I would just love to add Reli's new dynamic to my mixing pot of a herd. I truly love this delightful ram, and now can't imagine what my herd would be like without his lasting presence.
How would you use this character?:
Primarily, Relief would be used as a headmate; a new voice added to the herd within my mind. I love mentally playing with my characters, figuring out their many facets, working out all their relationships and troubles and joys- it's hard to be bored when you have characters, ahah. He would join my herd, and would reside within the place in my heart and mind that he's carved out for himself. He'd take a main role in the lives of several of my other Goennecs, and would have his own story developed as well.
Though few of my drawings get online, he'd be a subject of the many doodles I do throughout the day, and would be the star of many scribbled out stories as well, I'm positive. If it were to start back up, I'd love to get both him and Æfen involved in the RP.
Reli is and would be very important to me, and would never be cast aside or slowly forgotten. He's wormed is way into my heart, and I absolutely love his presence.
Define your Goennec:
Personality:
- Even-Keeled: If Relief had to be defined by one thing, it would be his calm, consistent attitude towards life. He approaches problems with a rational assurance, and thrives when things are orderly and running smoothly. Reli does his best to be steadfast in the face of change and a source of strength for those who are weaker than him.
Protective: Though he doesn't often admit it, Reli worries quite a bit over his brother, the Prime, especially when it comes to fighting. He dislikes watching his brother struggle with the stress of his job, and often wishes that he could better help the other ram.
Relief is quite protective of his does and kids during the Siv, and watches over his harem like a hawk.
Gregarious: Reli loves to be around others, as all herd animals do, and treasures his herd-mates above all else. He loves conversation and friendship, and rarely can be found alone.
Deferent: Especially when it comes to the Prime and Prince, Relief is not one to argue. Even when he disagrees with something, he often elects to stay passive about it for the sake of keeping peace. He sees life in a humble manner, and is accepting of his role within the herd, despite the fact that his brother of the same age is Prime [and didn't choose him to be Prince]. Relief lives and breathes respect, and [sometimes wrongly] expects others to equally value the trait as well.
Affable: Reli is very friendly and open, and is able to get along with almost everyone. [Aside from Will and Franklin, but that's fairly understandable. He does try to work with them, at least.] He enjoys conversation and cultivating positive relationships, and chooses to look for the best in others. Reli's kind and gentle, despite his strength, and rarely holds a grudge. Life is far too short to stay cross with anyone from the herd.
Likes:
- Thrice: Relief and Thrice, though born to different does, were sired by the same ram in the same year and have been inseparable friends since they were introduced. They grew up playing together, spent their years as young soldiers gossiping about does and fighting alongside each other, and even though they're now both mature, they're still remarkably close. Reli stayed a soldier when Thrice became Prince and then Prime, but never stopped being his brother's dear friend. He holds immense amounts of respect for his half-brother, and is happy to serve under him.
Peter: Though Peter, Thrice's younger half-brother, has no relation via blood to Relief, Reli treats the young ram like a brother regardless. When Thrice, busy and distracted, failed to take note of Peter's hero-worshipping of him, Reli stepped in to make up for the Prime's shortcomings. Reli finds great joy in the victories he achieves with Peter, like teaching him to hunt better, or making him certain that no, whatever crazy story Will is currently telling him is definitely not true.
Æfen: Eve, or Evie, as he somehow gets away with calling her, is Reli's closest friend aside from Thrice. The lively doe is incredibly entertaining to talk to as they graze, and is an indispensable companion while hunting. She helped him learn to be at peace during his brother's rise to power, and is there to talk and laugh with when Thrice is not. Both are middle-aged soldiers, and have lived their lives together.
Every Siv that Eve is available, Reli asks her first to join his harem. Though he lost her a few times to older rams when they were younger, he has been quite successful in fighting for her, and is incredibly proud of all of their offspring. Reli likes to entertain the thought that when they're a little older he'll ask her to be his mate. In the meantime, however, she's his very dear friend.
Community: Being in a large herd, hunting with a companion, grazing with a group of friends, looking out for the elders, watching over a harem- all are precious to Relief. He loves to be around others, and loves the herd as a whole entity, as well as its individual members. The concept of being alone is foreign and awful to Reli, and he strives to avoid encountering it at all costs. He is content and secure when surrounded by others; the herd, from the littlest kid to the oldest elder, is precious to him.
Clouds: Those large, fluffy, white things that float across the sky with ease are awe-inspiring to Reli. After a day of hunting, putting up with Will and Franklin, or working with Peter, Reli is content to flop down beside Eve and watch the sky. [Though it sometimes takes some convincing and charm to get her to join in.] The clouds, like him, seem to gravitate towards being in large groups, which he appreciates. When it's time to watch over his harem, the beautiful cloud-herds keep him company in the night on a backdrop of shifting sky.
Routine: Relief has ways of doing things that he likes to stick to. Visiting the stream first thing in the morning, for example. Grazing before hunting. Making sure to pass by the large boulder wen on a stroll with Evie. Keeping to routine is Reli's best way of maintaining order within his life, which he values very highly.
Dislikes:
- Those-Two-Incredibly-Troublesome-Young-Rams: In other words, William and Franklin. Relief has been trying from the day Iapetus dragged Will to the herd to be a positive influence for the irritating white ram, but has thus so far made little to no progress. Will's rebellious, disrespectful tendencies drive Reli nuts, which only fuels Will's passion for annoying him. Since becoming Will's 'protégé' in troublemaking, Franklin has too become the bane of Reli's existence. Relief harbors no deep-rooted hate for either of them, but he does wish that they could occasionally try to be a little less bothersome.
Competition: Relief has never been one to rise up to a serious challenge. This is not to say that he's lazy or timid, but rather that he prefers to cultivate positive relationships instead of ones with influences of jealousy. He didn't struggle with his brother's rise to power within the herd, and kept from feeling dissatisfied when Thrice chose Roe to be the herd's Prince instead of Reli. He gets along quite well with the two rams in part because of his humble acceptance of his place within the rankings. [When it comes to playful sparring or fighting over a doe during the Siv, however, Reli is always up to the task. These things, to him, are different from the rivalries he works to prevent.]
Disorder: When things don't run smoothly, or when dissention comes about within the herd, Reli becomes agitated and anxious. He thrives on order and feelings of calmness, and is at his best when the Prime and Prince are in complete control of the herd's affairs.
