The limit is three days, which means you can only adopt on the fourth day :3 So in a way because of the time zone difference, for you the limit does start the day after you adopt ^^;

Belo and Az already posted, but if this helps...

Day 1 = day you adopt
Day 2 = day after
Day 3 = day after that
Day 4 = you can adopt

Think of it as, you adopt today. You can't adopt tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. You can adopt after that though. Does that help? I think you may have tried to adopt on Day 3, but if not, you'd still have to wait 52 hours so time zone doesn't affect it too much, really.
