Introduction/Story:
This is...strange. Juniper thought. She had simply pushed against the door and it gave. She stood there a moment in shock. It was open? Her eyes darted about to make sure that no one was about and then slowly padded out. Still, no one, but she was still wary.
I'm free? She thought tentatively.
The female fleshling, Marissa, must've forgotten to lock up when she was done, but, she never forgets to lock up. Suddenly, she heard a sound and saw Marissa standing in the doorway of the compound. Juniper froze and watched Marissa warily, waiting to see what she would do. She hoped she wouldn't have to kill her, she didn't enjoy unnecessary blood shed. What did she want? What were her motives for doing this? Marissa stopped smiling and cautiously knelt down in front of Juniper. Juniper cocked her head in confusion, but she continued to watch Marissa cautiously. A hand was coming slowly towards her, she flinched, afraid of pain or some other feeling that she didn't enjoy. Marissa talked in a whisper, a comforting sound.
"It's alright, I'm setting you free." Marissa said, letting her hand fall gently on Juniper's head and rubbed gently. She called Zver #CC4822 Juniper in secret when no one was around, she liked Juniper, there was something about her that piqued Marissa's interest, though she wasn't sure exactly what it was. Perhaps it was the fact that she was very docile and didn't try anything whenever she came to feed the Zvers. She like Juniper's markings, they were simple but very complementory to her figure. She kept a close watch on Juniper ever since that incident about a month ago, when one of the now ex-employee's had decided to put Juniper down for no odd reason other than to see her die. The employee had been fired as soon as the board had heard about it. Marissa shook her head, trying to rid herself of the horrible memory. She had to get Juniper out of here quickly before the guards commenced their rounds.
Juniper had enjoyed the feeling of this head rub, it was pleasant, she wanted it to not end. She'd never been touched as gently as Marissa was touching her now, or simply petted. She like it, warmth and love seemed to flow from it and it was pleasing. She whined when Marissa withdrew her hand, but was wary, this could be some sort of trickery, lulling her into a false sense of security and then killing her with a lethal injection, like they had her brother. She shuddered at the horrible memory.
"We have to go." Marissa said in an urgent whisper, getting up.
"Come on, follow me." She said waving her hand to motion her to follow her. Juniper hesitated, could Marissa really be trusted? How did she know that she hadn't been ordered by the fleshlings she worked for to kill her. Marissa turned and seemed to notice Juniper's distrust.
"I don't know how to gain your trust, but if I could speak your language or even just speak to you so you understood, I would tell you that I absolutely despise the experiments they do here, that I disapprove of everything they do to you. I've tried to prevent them from killing you, but I can tell they're starting to consider it." Marissa seemed to speak from her heart, for she seemed close to tears as she spoke. Juniper didn't know how to respond to this fleshling's blatant show of emotions, she didn't know these fleshlings had any, they'd always been rather cold. Something in her said to comfort her, but she was afraid that listening to that would be a bad move on her part. Juniper hesitantly and cautiously padded just a little bit closer to Marissa and licked the tears that had begun to fall from Marissa's eyes. Marissa smiled and Juniper wondered if she'd fallen into another trap. But she decided to wait and see what Marissa would do next. She got up and walked to the doorway and looked both ways, as if making sure no one was coming. She then turned to look back at Juniper and motion with her hand for her to come. Juniper didn't move, she just stood there in uncertainty. She wanted to get out of here, sure, but was it worth the risk of possibly killing somone? She decided that it was worth it, as much as she disliked the idea.
Marissa somehow managed to slip out with her unnoticed, but as soon as they had made it out to her craft, the silence of the night was broken with the blaring of sirens and the loud speakers announcing the fact that Juniper had escaped. Marissa swore under her breath as she had Juniper climb up into the back of her van and shut the door. She climbed into the driver's seat and turn on the ignition. She prayed that this would all work out and she wouldn't get fired...or worse.
When the door closed, Juniper wondered yet again if maybe, she'd made a horrible mistake by following Marissa. But she didn't want to miss out on her one chance at freedom or love.
