Tracker Dog Application
Username: tigress303
Tracker Dog you want: 81
Name you'll give it: Camille after a character in a book I'm writing. Her personality is almost the same.
Nicknames: Cam, Girl.
Reason why you want it: With everyone going for the wild tracker #80 I feel very bad for this girl with such a sharp and unique design. Just because she has natural colors doesn't mean she should be forgotten. She is also very well done and beautiful and I would love to have so I could make art of her.
Will it be used in any kind of story? Possibly
Describe its personality: Sharp
She is very smart and knows what needs to be done and how to do it.
Brave
She will do things that put her at risk if it means protecting a person, especially her trainer.
Loyal
Camille is so loyal that she dreads jobs that mean she will have to be apart from her trainer.
Focused and observant. Nothing gets past her! When she's working nothing can distract her. Not even a super delicious BLT. (Her favorite.)
Loving
When the the job is done and it's time to go home she likes to sit on her trainers lap. (Even though she's the size of a German shepherd Camille considers considers herself a lap dog.) She also loves watching late night television. Her favorite shows are NCIS, Sherlock Holmes (The new ones.), and Glee. If she's lucky she might just get a little bit of popcorn for a good day.
Quirky
How many other trackers like to sing along with the kids on Glee and are addicted to BLTs? I really can't think of any.
These qualities all make her the perfect airport drug sniffing dog...
Write an introduction for your Tracker:
"Next." Brain called unenthusiastically. It was a slow day at the airport where he worked with Camille his loyal tracker. Their job was to check the people coming through the security metal detectors for any illegal substances. Nothing had happened as long as Brain could remember. It was a relatively small airport meaning that almost nothing happened. Almost.
The man stepped out in front of Camille and Brain. "Search!" He commanded. Camille circled the man, sniffing everywhere before stepping back and sitting next to Brain. "You're good." he said to the man. After he left a women came through. She was wearing a flowered dress with a necklace with a plush, stuffed heart on it. "Next." he called. The women stepped froward and Camille growled. "Camille it's ok." he said patting her. Camille never growled. Except at the person she knew committed the crime in Sherlock Holmes. She always figured it out before Brian, and it bugged him when she gave it away like that. But, Camille was sweet and never growled. Something was afoot. "Search." Brian commanded feeling a bit suspicious. Camille sniffed the woman for a second before barking loudly. She did have something!
Camille immediately jumped up on the woman, grabbing her heart necklace. "You stupid mutt!" The woman cried as Camille snapped the heart off the necklace. As nearby security rushed forward to apprehend the woman Brian gave Camille a hug. "Good girl! Someone gets a BLT tonight!" Normally simply saying the letter "B" would send Camille into a fit of excitement but Camille didn't move. She froze, her muscles tensed. She whined and looked into the direction of a crowd of people. Brian squinted through the crowd and saw a man standing still. He was reaching into his coat. What was he grabbing? Brian's heart froze. It was a pistol.
As the man slowly drew it Brian yelled "Everybody get down!" Everybody stopped and screamed as the man fired the pistol directly at Brian but missed, but he was coming closer. People began to run away or drop to the ground as the man ran through the crowd. Brian didn't want to do what he knew was coming. Camille had learned how to attack an armed suspect in police tracker training but Brian never imagined using it. It was an incredibly dangerous thing for a tracker to do and Brian loved Camille very much. Meanwhile Camille bristled as his side. She growled and barked as the man approached. Brian closed his eyes. "Attack!" he yelled, opening his eyes. Camille dove forward and ran around the man as he shot at her. She leaped at him from the side as Brian ran forward to grab him. Camille bit the mans hand and the gun fell. Brian wrestled him into handcuffs as the rest of the security team rushed over. "Good job!" said Officer Willis, the head officer as Brian handed the man over. "That was a very dangerous situation and you handled it perfectly." Brian nodded and smiled but his face soon turned to a look of terror. "Camille's been shot!"
People gasped as Camille limped over. There was a bullet hole on the right side of her chest, blood oozed down it. She collapsed at Brian's feet. "It missed her heart. But it may have got a lung." Brain felt anger and sadness well up inside him. "You're going to be ok." he said, stroking her. "We'll get you to a vet and you'll be fine."
Brain, with the help of two very concerned bystanders carried Camille to his van. "Thanks for you're help!" he said as he hopped in next to her in the front. The tracker lab was too far away. He would have to go to a normal vet. As he sped to the towards his destination he kept his hand on her. Partly to reassure her and partly to reassure himself. She was breathing but it was getting shallower and shallower. After what felt like to Brain was hours, they arrived at the vet clinic. It was a large open office with many doors circled around a main front desk. Brain ran inside and yelled to the lady at the front desk; "Please! Help me! My trackers been shot! I need help carrying her inside!" The receptionist got up and together they carried Camille inside. "Sit tight! I'll call Dr. Bannum!" The receptionist told him. She rushed to the behind the desk and pressed the PA button. "Dr. Bannum please come to the front office we have an emergency." she said calmly. Then she turned to Brain. "Dr. Bannum is the best. She'll be in good hands." she came over and stroked Camille's soft pelt. "Hang on sweetie you'll be ok." she cooed. Suddenly a door opened and a tall thin man with a goatee came through. "What's the emergency? Oh you poor thing!" he gasped as he saw the bullet hole in Camille's chest. "I'm Dr. Bannum." he explained, than turned to the receptionist. "Now Ellie contact surgery suite three so they can get ready in there!" she nodded and ran off as Dr. Bannum turned back to Brain. "I just some quick information before I operate. What's its name, gender, and species?"
"Camille, female, normal tracker"
"Any allergies to medication?"
"Not that I know of." Brain tried his best to answer but he was too worried. "Ok good. Now the room should be ready. So I'll take her in. I'm sorry but you'll have to wait out here." said Dr. Bannum as Ellie came back in. The two lifted Camille, and with Brain holding the door open, rushed into the depths of the clinic. Brain sat down and waited. Did he get her here in time? He tried to read some of the pet magazines laying nearby to pass the time, but he couldn't stand to see the happy looking dogs without thinking of poor Camille. The scene played over in his head, Camille running at the man, Camille attacking him as he blindly shot. Brian felt tears well up in his eyes. As Brain sat there, trying not to cry the minutes ticked by. Two hours later Dr. Bannum came in. He look haggard and tired but a weak smile was on his face. "We successfully removed the bullet. She's on IV and still asleep. You can see her now sir."
"Just call me Brain." said Brain as he followed Dr. Bannum into a room where machines beeped and whirred. In the middle of the forest of wires and plugs was Camille. Laying on a towel covered stainless steel table. Her right side was wrapped bandages and a needle was stuck in her foreleg. "Will she be ok?" Brain asked worriedly. "We assume she will make a full recovery. She's lucky. A few more centimeters and the bullet would have punctured her lung." said Dr. Bannum smiling. "When can I take her home?" asked Brain. "When she wakes up. Just be careful with her and give her about a weeks worth of rest before doing anything to strenuous. How did this happen anyway?" Brain told him the whole story about the woman and her accomplice. When he finished, Camille began to stir.
Brain helped Camille out of the van. She was still woozy from the medicine and was wearing a silly cone collar. "Good job today girl." Brain said as he unlocked the door. Immediately Camille tottered to the couch and barked. "You wanna watch some TV Cam? Ok but first I gotta do something." A few minutes later the smell of bacon frying tickled Camille's nose. She jumped of the couch and trotted as fast as she could to the kitchen without falling over. As she got there Brain was putting the finishing touches on two heaping BLTs. "I promised didn't I? Besides bacon is the best medicine." he chuckled as Camille went into a happiness spasm, wiggling her whole body and whipping her tail. They settled down onto the couch. Brain took Camille's cone collar off and she sprawled across his lap. Together they ate their BLTs and watched a episode after episode of Glee.
The End
