Use: It's been a couple of rounds since I've tried out for a character or two from here! I was looking through the characters up for adoption while setting up the new round and this guy was one that really caught my eye. The look of him just gave me ideas right away!
If I win him, he'll get a spot on my character website, art, and love! I have a lot of characters so I can't draw them all all the time but I do adore each one.

Personality:
There's some people that have a charm to them when you first meet them. It's something about their personality that just draws you to them. Conri seems to have this trait - he's always smiling, always telling a story or laughing about one thing or another. The world could be falling around him and he'd still be cheering everyone up with just his smile.

It might not always have been genuine, but Conri's learned a lot over the years. He's gotten better at being truly kind since the time, so many years ago, when he was cursed to start his life all over. Nowadays, Conri is a ghost with a genuine want to spread joy in the world. He wanders from place to place, a spring in his step and gaze always cheerful. He's become almost a legend now, like the ghost pranksters Merle and Lumiere, but in a calmer sense. When Conri comes, the world pauses, and people listen.



Conri is a wordsmith, a master at spinning tall tales and bringing the listener to another place with just his voice and a good imagination. It's true that he spices up quite a few of his stories (unlike the well known storyteller Petrichor), but sometimes it's fun to hear about history in an imaginative light.

In the end, if you're looking for a good tale, a good laugh, and a kind and honest person, Conri's your man. Perhaps one day soon he'll decide it's time to stop being a ghost and move on for real... but while there's still people on Silvarum to cheer up, he'll do his best to help them all.



History:
Conri was once a member of royalty in the Starheart kingdom, one of the three great kingdoms of Silvarum. He was given everything early on, wanted for nothing - and when he became a young adult, he wanted to see what else was out there, beyond the capital city where he lived. So he gathered his possessions and went away to see what else was out there in the lands beyond.

Unlike many of the adventurers out in the world at that time, he wasn't the kindest person. He saw himself as first in everything, and this came back to hurt him eventually. One day, Conri came across an ancient magician and demanded that he showed him some magic. The magician, seeking to teach a lesson, cast a powerful spell that would change the course of Conri's life.

He blacked out, and when he woke up, found he was physically fine, and went on to the next town, no one remembered him. He said hello to an innkeeper and asked for a room that night under his name. Unlike the usual recognition and 'oh, it's you' he often got, he was merely given a nod and a request. "10 gold, please."

Conri found that odd, and when he asked other people in town of they had heard of him, they all said a decisive no. This was too large scale to be a prank. The magician had erased all memory of him from the world, leaving him to start a new life without his wealth and home that he had taken for granted.

He was angry at first, tried to find the magician to get revenge, but it was not to be. To get some gold for food and a place to sleep, Conri started telling stories. He would find some folks wanting to hear of far off lands and make up things so fantastic that even he had a hard time believing they actually happened. Life went on, Conri grew older, mellowed out, and became content with his new life, until the day he died.

But in Silvarum, death isn't always the end. The older Conri found great joy in brightening others' days with a tale, so he chose to come back as one of the many ghosts that roamed the land. He's still wandering and telling stories to this day - so much so that he's turned into a legend, almost. When the ghost Conri comes to town, people want to listen. It's a legacy he's pretty happy with.
