Saren awoke and left her eyes drift dreamily around the area called Ahzen. It had not been long since she stepped forth from the vortex to find she was not alone in this world. She had a family, two fellow Ahz that called themselves her parents. she had doubted them of course. she had not come from them, she had come from the vortex that laid behind her. that was at least until she caught a look at her own reflection. It was this first glimpse of 'her' that really threw all things into perspective. It's funny, the idea of self image, before she knew what she herself looked like Saren could doubt the words of the two ahzenai that stood before her, Before she saw the rippling visage glaring back at her in the moon light, she thought she was free, free to choose her own path, free to choose a companion. But as soon as she looked down, she knew. she was not free, but obligated. Obligated to these two who gave her life, and limb, these two who came together and made her.

She had followed them that night, The female she would come to call mother fawning and cooing over her, 'heir' as she had called Saren, She was known as Varesh ad from what Saren could grasp she was a Queen of sorts. The male, Cithral, was impassive and silent, he looked over Saren with cold prying amber eyes. He was like a stone, strong and cold; unmoving and unfazed by anything around him. Her mother crooned over her, Saren was perfect in her mothers eyes, She was her heir. And she coveted every part of her daughter, that was aside from her one little flaw...

Saren Sighed and rolled over unto her belly. Her eyes, now clear rolled over the sleeping form of her mother. Varesh, even in sleep wore an air of wild yet majestic authority. this was the creature She was supposed to follow and learn from. But how was she suposed to be a queen, a good one at that, if she was to only learn from one person?

Perse padded slowly across the cave, her tail swishing in the dirt behind her. She casually glanced over her shoulder at her traveling companions, huddled in a group in the far corner. She sighed, sitting gracefully on a small rock. She loved traveling with Vimocidas and Tasu and Pradus, of course, but something just didn't feel...right. Perse had always felt like an outsider in the group, despite the others' efforts to include her. She wanted something more from her adventures, not just tagging along. She had cracked jokes and riddles to hide how she was feeling on the inside, but all that did was make it worse. She frowned, her eyes following a crack down the cave wall.
As the crack came to an end, her eyes alighted on a group of three Ahzenai who had just entered the cave. She perked up, straining her ears to listen to what they were saying. "Oh right, the kind of apprentice I am looking for is one who wishes to build their confidence, I want to help make you a leader."
Perse's eyes widened. The red Ahzenai, Riae, seemed to be calling to her. She bounced up from her spot, then held back. What happened if he didn't like her? What happened if it turned out she had confidence after all? What if he picked her and then she failed?
She shook away her worries and hesitantly stood up. She swallowed worriedly and began padding over to the group. She sat to the side, monitoring the other suitors and gathering her courage. She approached Riae slowly, bowing her head and sitting gently before him. She looked up into his flashing yellow eyes and swallowed the lump in her throat. "I...uh, I..." She looked away, embarrassed to be seen so hesitant. She closed her eyes, sighed, and tried again.
"Um, hello, Riae, my name is Perse, and I would like to become your apprentice. I travel with three other Ahzenai, but I've never really felt as if I belonged. Vimocidas, the oldest, is really knowledgeable and we all respect him greatly. Tasu was just born to be a leader, you can see it. Pradus is really brave and strong and I've always wanted to have as much courage as he does." She looked down, trying to avoid Riae's gaze. "See, the thing is, they're all leaders, in their own way. Everyone except for me. I've wanted to do what I can but I'm always too nervous." She launched into her experiences with the group, pouring her soul into her words. She told him everything they had done, everything she had experienced, and everything she wanted to become. Everything she had ever dreamed and felt and feared flowed out of her mouth as she told the other Ahzenai everything about her.
She swallowed uncertainly after finishing her speech, and met Riae's gaze. "So, I want to travel with you so I can gain more confidence. I want to travel with you so that someday I can return to traveling with Vimocidas and Tasu and Pradus and feel as if I belong there. I want to travel with you because I feel that you can help me." She shuffled her paws. "I know I'm probably not any good, and I know that you'll probably choose someone else, but I just wanted to ask you for your help and your experience. She nodded politely and walked away, her heart pounding in her chest. She glanced back and exhaled deeply, nervousness bubbling up inside her.
She bumped abruptly into something and looked up to meet Vimocidas' sparkling eyes. "I'm proud of you," he whispered softly, resting his head atop hers.
Perse smiled gratefully, and the two of them walked side by side, pelts brushing softly together.

Quickly, I sketched in the final line, making the drawing of the painted Ahzenai, complete. It was the first time I was here, and Mactak seemed like a dream come true. We were both artists, we were both crazy, and we both loved food. The only problem might be that he is relaxed 24/7, I can be relaxed too at times, but I still am very hyper. I noticed others were coming up to Mactak, all of them already had Ahzenais, so I stood no chance at wooing but it was worth trying. I took a deep breath and gathered up my sketchbook and walked over to the Ahzenai. I knew I was late, I knew he was announcing the winner soon, but hey when a chance this good comes up, you have to take it no matter the odds.

"Hi there!" I said, cheerfully "My name is Sasha, but everyone calls me Cammer. I'm a traveler, a traveling artist that is. I sketch everything in sight and will do anything to find mystic beasts to draw! I was hoping we could exchange knowledge and share our advetures together! That is, if you choose me to be your partner." I sat down in front of the Azenai and took out my bag. I reached in and pulled out a variety of fruits, vestibules, meats, and other tasty things "And I hope you like food as much as I do! Although I have no idea what Ahzenais like." I scratched my head embarrassment "Is it just me or does. Everyone here let the Ahzenai that they already have woo a new one? I mean, why don't they come up them selves?" I quickly realized I was getting off topic and went back to wooing Macttak.

I took a bite into an apple and thought about how to show Mactak that I was crazy. I really am crazy, I just don't usually show it and even, then there is different types of crazy. " When you siad you needed someone crazy to help you with your work, I hope you ment crazy as in creative, right? And even if you didn't mean it, I still am kind of crazy, but more as in a dare devil way and.., Oh!" I reached searched in my bag for one of my earlier sketchbooks, Showing drawings from the highest mountain tops to being face to face with the wildest of beasts to bieng in the deepest darkest areas to drawings of hidden things that were forbidden. "I feel that sometimes a single small picture tells more than a few sentences or words, it tells a whole story through strokes and lines and feelings through color and positioning, and it tells it better than a book or person."

I sighed and gathered my things as I got up. While reaching down for a pencil, I dropped on of my most recent sketchbooks and it was open to the drawing I did of Mactak. "That's kind of the main reason why I'm so late, I was drawing you." I said as I picked it up. I let him study it for a bit before walking off.

I know, I know, but it is a pretty cool coincidence thou that the first time I came here, there was an Azhenai that suited me perfectly (exempt the whole realxed life style thing)
