Talking about candy always reminds me of an old story.
My grandma (german) once wrote with our american relatives. They mentioned that my grandma should send candy for the kids. Grandma does not really speak english, so she assumed they were talking about "Kandis" because it sounds similar. I think the english word for this is Rock sugar, its just unflavored sugar, more solid than sugar cubes. We usually use lumps of it to sweeten our tea. So instead of real candy she send a package rock sugar.
