I would like to adopt!
Number: seven.
Picture:
Name: yen.
Species: wolf.
Personality: yen is a calm and kind soul, never letting his emotions get the best of him. he'd stay clear of thinks like the confrontation and drama that come with having too many others in his life, and would stay only with his mate and their pups, once they're born. he'd spend a lot of his time alone, wandering the woods or valleys nearby, while his mate and pups sleep. yen would be considered, by some, a coward or loner for his way of life, but that would never bother him. yen enjoys being a lone soul and the freedom it gives him, but still adores the duties of fatherhood and having a mate to love him.
by nature, yen is a violent and abusive wolf. his early life imprinted that upon him permanently, but he's spent every moment since then trying to get over and move on from that horrible past. he doesn't ever talk about it, or what happened in it, and thus his mate knows nothing about his hidden temper. he made a few mistakes early in his life that he's been trying to make up for ever since, and, sometimes, seeing his innocent pups drives him so mad that he literally has to take a day or two completely alone.
Likes: the forest, trees, sunlight, stars, the moon, walking alone, having time to think, his mate, being a father, taking care of his four pups, sleeping in the sun, being with his mate, flowers, plants, the color green.
Dislikes: confrontation, drama, anyone who isn't his mate or pups, his past, being far from trees or large plants, being far from his mate and/or pups [especially for long periods of time].
Background: yen was born to a pair of loving and dotting parents, and had four younger sisters. being the first and only son born before his father died, yen was always treated with more care. on his first birthday, however, everything changed. due to a terrible disease, his pack had thinned dramatically and every wolf was afraid of every other. males were hit the hardest, and soon he was the only one left. stricken with confusion and grief, the pack dispersed.
yen took care of his sisters and mother, although he was still so very young. eventually the disease took his mother, prompting one of his sisters to run away, and he was left completely alone at two years old with three little sisters, not yet a year old. disease soon took the smallest of the three, and yen was secretly pleased. one less mouth to feed, one less pup to raise. he truly did love each and every one of his sisters, but with both him and them being so young, as well as completely alone, it was incredibly hard for him to handle.
one night, after yen's sixth fruitless hunt in a row and the third night without food, he snapped. with untold furiousity he murdered both his sisters, first the oldest and then the youngest. he slit the elder's throat with the claws of his right paw and then ripped the younger's throat in half with his sharp teeth. blood trickled down his jaw and paw, pooling beneath him in a mess of ripe crimson. he stayed like that, standing over the bodies of his innocent sisters, for god only knows how long. eventually he passed out and fell, atop the bodies and encircled in blood.
when yen awoke, sunlight was streaming down through the trees. in a zombie-esque fashion yen slowly stood up and dragged himself to the river. he stood in the cold water until all of the blood washed off of his fur, claws, and teeth. when that was done, he walked. he refused to eat or drink, ad he craved nothing but distance from the memory of what he had done and the two innocent sisters he had slain. he didn't know where he was going, and he didn't really care. he kept walking until he collapsed, and prayed to never again open his eyes.
unfortunately, he did.
he woke up in a small hut-like shelter, covered by a few large leaves serving as a blanket. there was no one else in the hut, and he couldn't sense anyone outside. he wondered if there really was no one beyond the thin walls, but he had neither the energy nor will to get up and find out. so, instead, he drifted back to sleep, falling slowly into the soggy world of post-murder dreams. a day later he awoke again, this time meeting the bright grape-hued eyes of a stunning and petite female wolf. her face entire lit up when she saw his eyes crack open, and his heart fluttered at the sight of it. she quickly offered him a chunk of meat, and although he didn't want to, he pulled himself into a sitting position and began to eat it slowly. anything to keep her precious face from shattering.
after a month of living in silence with the mysterious girl, he got up and went outside for the first time. the subtle sunlight was blinding, and he had to take a few minutes to adjust his eyes. it was his third birthday, he could feel it in his bones, and he realized that it was time to stop punishing himself. this sweet girl needed him, and he vowed to protect her always. he also vowed to never harm another innocent again, thus forcing him to never hunt again. that night he and the girl left their hut and walked off through the forest towards nowhere and everywhere.
just over a year later they had their first pups, two beautiful boys, yin and yang. both boys resembled their father the most, but also had obvious traces of their mother embedded in their genes. yen had mixed emotions about his first two children both being male. he longed for a daughter, but felt as though he didn't deserve one after what he had done to his sisters. he never told anyone what happened when he was young, and spent every moment trying desperately to make up for it.
he took care of his mate and sons with great care, although he refused to hunt for any meals. his mate was incredibly understanding of this, although he wouldn't tell her his reasons, and did all the hunting for the four of them. yen would often disappear for a day or more at a time, wandering the forest and thinking of his fallen sisters. his mate doesn't know why he goes, but guessed that it was because of him needing some alone time, which she understood but didn't need herself.
a little after the boys turned one, yen was blessed with his greatest wish: a beautiful baby girl. she looked like a cross between her mother and father, neither side really taking the lead in her gene pool, however all her father saw when he looked at her was a fresh start and his fallen sisters. he was over the moon with happiness and constantly thanked the gods for finally forgiving him enough to give him his beloved daughter. as could be expected, she was spoiled and protected to an extreme degree, but no one in the family seemed to mind, as the family entire treated her that way.
seven months later, tragedy struck.
yen's beloved mate was taken by disease, which he guessed he was immune to and had passed on to her, and, once more, he was left alone with three young pups. but, this time, he vowed to be a great caretaker and amazing father. yin hunted while yang slept, and vice versa, leaving yen to take care of his precious kallie, teaching and protecting her. he stopped leaving to mourn for his sisters by himself, and told his children an almost-exact version of the truth. he weaved it into a bedtime story, which became one of kallie's favorites, and kept their memory alive with his voice.
and, at last, the dying was done and everything was going to be alright.
whew, finally finished.
i hope its good enough. ^w^
