Arrogance was in the serpent king's nature; it defined who he was and everything he did. It was his foundation, and as such it was the very thing that lead to any opportunity being
taken advantage of. The vortex with a name he simply didn't speak had been dormant, something that had left the lizard king lazy and idle. Ambling and making little use of himself, but then why would he? What did he have to offer anyone that he actually wanted to give? The answer was nothing, and so in short Tezcacoatl did nothing in return. A cycle he cared little for since boredom was not an idea he cared for, such thing rang too loudly of mortality for him. A reminder that little here was permanent say for those who made their marks, and wasn't he could at that? He liked to thing so, and that alone was yet more arrogance.
The vortex spun and spluttered, the others crowding and shuffling. He remained laying still, eyes lazily closed as he huffed and grumbled. The tact was simple and he did little more than let the others grovel and beg; little worms rolling around in the dirt in hopes of attention.
Attention. He snickered at the other's audacity; to think he would want attention. What good was that? It was little more than an emotional base he didn't need. An idea conceptualized by those weak and needy enough that they could not do without something to hold on to; and so it was funny that the unnamed one before him was in the process of being charmed by those who needed
ideas. He himself needed little more than flesh and will; two tangible ideas that made him strong. Stronger than the fool who presumed to stand on his tail in their nervous prancing, something that had him rearing and rounding with a loud hiss and mock snap of his jaws.
It was then that his patience was lost and he slunk toward the tan Ahzenai, snapping at the heals of the male's current suitor and sending them scurrying with a yelp. He wasn't willing to wait
"Why would I want your attention? That would be indicative of some sort of superiority, no~?" A short laugh and toss of his head, eyeing the other and waiting for a reaction.
"There can be no superiority in partners. That is what I want, not your attention." It was bold and perhaps the other would cower or snort in his own arrogance, but if either of these instances were the case then really this fellow was not the sort Tez needed to be affiliated with in any way. Much rather someone with at least half a braincell.
"Do remember though that it works both ways. There can be no inferiority, either. If you go with any of them you will be their crutch, and you are so much more than a tool for a lame child~" Perhaps, perhaps not. In the end this was all assumption based, a game that either worked so very well for him or lead to him shooting himself in the foot.
"There are really only two choices, my friend. Me or on your own, for the latter is so much more preferable to any other here~"Each of them so willing to grovel; how sad~
[The random misc people I involved (such as the one stepping on his tail and the one he pushed away) are NPCs annnd not involved with anyone who posted here! I didn't see this in the rules of what not to do, so I hope this is okay <3]
