~Goennec~ Round: Closed

[June Bug]

FFfffFFFFFFFFFFFfffffffffffffffffff So many good ideas. x] I'm researching them now to see how do-able certain formations are (for example, there really aren't a whole lot of really good images of the huge majority of Jupiter and Saturn's moons unfortunately. :/ )
I might try to do one or two of various different forms (planets, moons, suns, nebula, galaxies) and use those to build a general Astronomy theme or mix and match some of my favorite bits of the universe. x]

Space themed goennecs sounds really neat! There are so many different colored planets, and nebula, which have those freaky-awesome color schemes.

Thank you; it was so hard to decide which Goennec in this round to go for. I wish I could go for one of the astronomy themed ones but I'm not going to have time due to school, I will be checking in to see them though; I'm sure they'll be beautiful. I just love the sky and space.

A little factoid: all of the colors in astronomy photos are added artificially since the pictures that the Hubble Space Telescope takes are black and white and when we look through a telescope our eyes switch the task of seeing from our cone cells to our rod cells which are not able to see color.

That's a bummer! Space looks like so much fun when it's all colorful.
Just curious, how is it we can still tell that Mars is red when we look through a telescope?

I believe there is some color in the actual formations due to light reflecting (refracting?) through the gases, but yeah, scientists do at the very least enhance it so it's easier to see. They do the same thing with the moon Titan to be able to see gas formations in it's atmosphere whereas normally it just looks like a giant fuzzy ball of goldish orangy stuff. x]

About Mars, I have no idea actually. o.0
