I am looking to adopt...
Picture:
Kennel number: p64
Name: Fiona
Breed: Winged Wolf
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
I've seen Fiona multiple times scrolling through the kennels and have always considered going for her. For the longest time, I had nowhere to put her in my established universe and have passed her up, thinking she could find a better owner who already has a place for her.
My feelings changed after doing the most recent revamp for her. Revamping is a dangerous business to be in; always leading to the chance that one might become connected to the character. I have fallen to the typical dangers of revamping and can no longer ignore this girl. As I revamped her I was more open to her story than I was before, and I realized there was, in fact, a place for her in my universe.
She will be in the same universe as Ben, Demir, and Kadri (all three of whom I adopted from PoH). She will be a supporting character to Demir's side of the story. She will also go on my character site, as my character thread is in disrepair.
Personality:
Optimistic: Rain or shine, Fiona will always find the good in a situation. She doesn't understand pessimism and often times denies that such negativity exists. Her optimism makes it hard for her to be around Demir, whose low self-esteem and resentment towards those who look down on him eats away at her carefully constructed optimistic view of reality. However, she takes comfort in the fact that there are times when she can push Demir away from such negativity, acting as a true friend among the other winged wolves who hold the fact that he is wingless against him.
Gregarious: Along with her optimism, Fiona love to socialize with others. She feels most comfortable in large groups of wolves who listen to whatever she has to say. In fact, she's a little bit spoiled in the way that she constantly wants the attention to be on her. Her position as a noble among the winged wolves only exacerbates her need for attention, as most winged wolves will treat her as if she's above them. She often gets jealous if the attention turns from her to someone else.
Compassionate: As a noble, Fiona was raised to care for and sympathize with the winged population. It wasn't very hard for her to learn considering her love of large groups of wolves and her optimism that everyone can have a good life if given a push in the right direction. Her compassion led her to befriend Demir and later accept a betrothal to him that no other girl would. Unfortunately her actions are based on pity rather than true love.
Dutiful: Fiona has no qualms with doing what she feels like is required of her. This trait doesn't make her obedient, however. She will vehemently decline an order that she doesn't feel like she is required to do (unless it's her father ordering her to do so) if she doesn't want to do it. Fiona likes to keep up the appearance of the perfect noble's daughter and doing what her position requires of her makes her feel like she's succeeding.
Lacks Common Sense: Despite an ability to read others and an aptitude in her area of the winged wolf's magic, Fiona lacks quite a bit of common sense about the world around her. The phrase "think and do" goes way over her head, and she tends to do something rather than think about it first. This problem also unfortunately leads her to ask what some perceive as stupid questions, making some of the other high ranked wolves think she's incompetent.
Lazy: Fiona tends to enjoy a natural state of laziness. She lacks motivation to do work without being told, clashing with the image of a good noble that she tries to portray herself as. She wants nothing more than to be able to fly through the clouds without a care in the world; though, she can be easily pushed into doing work if it fits her perception of an inevitable responsibility of a winged wolf of her status.
Likes:
Sunlight: Fiona can think of nothing better than the feeling of the sun's warmth on her fur. Whether flying or just lazing around, sunlight raises her mood tenfold. Sometimes she gets annoyed by the amount of rain the area gets, but she can usually talk herself back into her optimistic mood if she's distracted by other things.
Large Groups: The larger the group, the better. Fiona loves the attention and feeling of belonging she gets from larger groups of wolves. Unfortunately, this means she has fewer closer friends, but Fiona is sure that all of them would help her in a time of need.
Demir (as a friend): Fiona really likes Demir, though she knows it's not in a mate way. Her father is the head general of Kadri and Irem's forces, so she grew up with Demir. She's always been attracted to him, wanting to make his misfortune of being a winged wolf sans wings less hurtful to him. She denies the fact that she pities him despite her heart telling her otherwise.
Dislikes:
Being Alone: Fiona has made herself so used to having others around her that being alone for even a small amount of time can give her extreme loneliness issues. She's always been used to being surrounded by others, whether they be servants or friends, and she needs to have at least one other wolf with her to feel her best. That wolf is typically her personal servant if no one else is available.
Others Bullying Demir Fiona can't stand others bullying Demir. Not only does it hurt Demir's feelings, but it also makes him more resentful towards others including her. She's been trying to help Demir be happier, but others bullying him is a barrier she can never surmount.
Bugs: One of her more unfortunate traits is a fear and overall dislike of bugs. She has no clue what it is about them that freaks her out; maybe their legs or their creepy little mouth parts, but she just can't stand them. Unfortunately for her, her world does not have any form of pesticides; however, she can use wind magic and will often be seen blowing them away from her in more buggy areas.

I am looking to adopt...
Picture:
Kennel number: p126
Name: Chumani
Breed: American Indian Dog
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:
Chumani is another character I recently did a revamp for. Giving her the new lineart really opened up the possibilities I saw in her. She is a character I never thought I'd go for, but I can't let go now that I've seen her potential. If I win her, I will write short stories for her and order art when I have the payment for it. She will have her own page on my character site, just like all the others I've adopted from here. She is not, however, in the same universe as Ben and the others.
Personality:
Impulsive: Chumani is quick to action, going with her heart rather than her mind. She tends to have a bit of a hero complex, trying to help everyone but often failing when she bites off more than she can chew, probably because she is the animal guide to a shaman's apprentice. She is a favorite among the tribe's dogs because of her care for the humans while many of the other dogs just do as they're told to get food, but her impulsiveness often leads her into positions where she's the one needing saving.
Determined: Chumani is determined to help her human companion succeed in his venture to become a shaman. He has an uncanny ability to understand her as well as to see the magic within her. Unfortunately, her determination along with her impulsiveness can also lead to problems for her human partner, as he listens to her no matter how ill-thought out her plan may be. She really wants to prove herself as the best guardian, but her inexperience and hasty decision making don't help.
Overprotective: One thing that really sets Chumani off is anyone threatening her tribe, especially her partner and his mentor. Make no mistake, she will attack if someone wants to bring harm to those she cares about. She is often on the front line if there's a dispute between tribes, both to help the shamans treat the wounded or to help with the fight itself.
Easily Annoyed: Chumani can be rather impatient, leading her to be quick to frustration and annoyance. She has very little patience for stupidity from both humans and other animals. As much of a hero complex that she has, she can't help but roll her eyes at what a lack of common sense can do to someone. Of course, she could easily be called hypocritical in that sense because of her impulsiveness leading to her own actions lacking in common sense.
Likes:
The Shamans: There are two shamans in Chumani's village: the current shaman and his 15 year old apprentice. Chumani is the boy's companion and animal guide. He found her as a puppy at the end of his vision quest and took her in as a physical representation of his spirit animal. The her human partner considers her to be special because of her unusually colored markings and the necklace she was wearing when he found her.
Her Tribe: She loves the humans that she lives with. They all treat her like one of them and believe that she is an important part of her partner's destiny. Plus, they all take care of her and make sure she's happy even when her master is away.
The Spirits: Chumani always thanks the spirits for delivering her to her partner. She has no recollection of what life was like before she was found, and she has no clue where the necklace came from, but she's sure the spirits are somehow involved. She wants to be the best animal guide ever to show the spirits her gratitude.
Protecting Others: Chumani is not sure if her need to protect others is learned from her master, a gift from the spirits, or just her nature, but she feels like she must keep people safe, and that's what she loves to do.
Dislikes:
Being Wrong: Chumani hates being wrong about what she should do. She feels like she is a disgrace to the spirits when she leads her master wrong.
Enemies of Her Tribe: Given her love for her human tribemates, it's no surprise that their enemies are her enemies. After all, enemies typically aim to kill, and Chumani is not ok with that.
Rabbit Meat: Chumani's least favorite meat is rabbit. She prefers venison or even bird meat to rabbit meat and is one of the only dogs that is allowed to be picky in her tastes. The only time she ever gives in and eats rabbit is when food is scarce and the humans need the venison more than she does.

I am looking to adopt... Picture:
Kennel number: F11
Name: Tyrantis
Breed: Wolf/Bat mix (thought of as a demon by others)
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:I occasionally thought about adopting Tyrantis after his first revamp, but I could never envision him in anything. I didn't really have a connection with him until his second revamp. His second revamp sealed my interest in him, and I can finally see a place for him in my story. I really like his simple design, and I think it looks great on a canine-based lineart. I already know he has a place in Ben, Demir, and Kadri's universe, though my mind is still working on the details of his allegiance. I'm leaning towards him aligning himself with Ben, though I'm still considering how that will work with Ben's less than warm feelings towards winged wolves. His role might change after I work with him for a bit, but his personality will stay similar.
Personality:Bitter: Tyrantis is very bitter towards magic and the royal family. He was the victim of experimental soul and binding magic (the horns and his feathered wings turned to bat wings); a crime that should have been punished by the royal family but was not. Though he can use earth magic, he refuses to on the grounds that the magical experimentation traumatized him. He grew up wanting justice for what happened to him, but his meeting with the royals went sour because of his attitude towards them. He immigrated to the newly discovered continent before the royals decided to colonize it and became even more disgusted with them when they took over. Despite his feelings towards the royals and magic, he has no ill feelings towards normal citizens of the winged wolf country.
Quick to Fight: Tyrantis can be touchy and quick to fight if the right buttons are pushed. His horns and wings are a topic that definitely should not be breached if the other wolf values his/her life. He does not try to kill his opponent, but he doesn't always regret loss of life if his opponent started it. Tyrantis's irritability was a factor in his failed meeting with the royals. They didn't seem to care about his case, and he almost attacked them. His actions would have gotten him arrested had he not caught himself before he attacked. Tyrantis was also quick to fight with Ben when they first met, a mistake which badly wounded them both before they realized they had a similar agenda against the royals. His disdain for his own wings and magic cemented a very uneasy alliance between the two.
Sarcastic: Tyrantis habitually answers people in sarcasm. It started as a way to cope with dealing with the crime against him, especially when other winged wolves would stare at him. but ended up sticking as a core part of his interaction with others once he became more confident in himself. His sarcastic wit annoys Ben and constantly puts them at odds with each other.
Soft Spot for Pups: Despite his less than warm interaction with others, Tyrantis has a huge soft spot for pups. He is envious of their innocence and wants to be sure they never lose their puphood. He especially feels a strong need to protect the pups of non-winged from his winged kin because of their disregard for normal wolves. Tyrantis knows for a fact that some of his kind would not hesitate to mess with pups from what they consider an inferior race. He also feels a need to protect winged pups from Ben, knowing that Ben will kill indiscriminately when he deems fit.
Loyal: There are very few wolves Tyrantis is friends with, but he is very loyal to those he allies himself with. Subconscious loneliness might be part of his loyalty issue, as he wants to keep strong relationships but has a hard time making friends in the first place. He tends to have problems with Ben's methods, but he does little to defy or try to stop Ben because of his loyalty. Unfortunately, loyalty makes his his alliance with Ben is very dangerous, as he would not harm Ben but he knows there's no guarantee Ben would feel the same way as him if their alliance were to go sour.
Likes:Justice: Tyrantis' experiences with magic and the winged royals have influenced him to wanting justice for those who have been wronged. He is a bit idealistic in his need for everyone to be served proper justice and sometimes goes out of his way to help the local wolves while Ben goes off to hand out his own unique brand of justice. Tyrantis doesn't really agree with Ben's form of justice (ie: kill everyone who crosses the line), but he finds it better than the inaction of the winged wolves and will often overlook Ben's actions unless they go too far.
Equality: Deep down, Tyrantis wants all wolves to be treated equally, winged or not. He hates how certain wolves are victimized for being born the way they are. Of course, this value takes a back seat to his jaded view of the world, as he knows the world will never be completely equal. His only hope is that working with Ben can bring about some form of equality, no matter how that equality may be achieved.
The Pack System: Tyrantis is fascinated and loves the idea of the pack system of the normal wolves. He finds the close-knit, familial relationship between pack members to be a far better regulator of crimes than having a central monarchy and families where all yearlings disperse as soon as possible. He see the pack system as a better way to achieve equality and justice between wolves which is another reason he supports Ben's somewhat terroristic efforts.
Dislikes:Discrimination: It's not surprising that Tyrantis hates discrimination seeing as he values equality. Discrimination was a large part of his life once he became the only bat-winged wolf in the country. Knowing how it feels to be discriminated against, he can't stand by if others are being put down. He moved to the new continent hoping to find a more accepting home among the non-winged wolves. Unfortunately, he didn't get a chance to find acceptance before the winged wolves took over, and discrimination is worse there than in his birth country.
The Royals: Tyrantis hates the royals for not taking his problem seriously. He feels like they are not living up to their duties as leaders and should be enforcing the laws they make rather than turning a blind eye. He would not be surprised if the royals had some stake in the magical experimentation that criminals commit.
His Disability: A side effect of the magic used on him as a child was to slow the development of his eyesight. He's mildly near-sighted, making it harder for him to see things at farther distances. It also makes it harder for him to see things at night. His hearing and sense of smell can usually balance it out unless there is a another strong scent in the air or loud noises.

I can't believe I'm going for the maximum number of characters in one round.
