Reason You Want It: For a long time now I've been wanting another canine character as a friend for my character Prince. I went around to a bunch of different adoption agencies, looked on dA, tried to make my own, but nothing. When Dior was posted, I clicked on the agency under my posts tab just because it was a new post and I had nothing to do. Boy, am I glad I did. I am absolutely in love with this design. It just says personality from looking at it. I just had to try for her.
History/Background/Other: Dior's personality is initially misleading. She seems prissy, almost stuck up, and certainly not very much fun. Some of that is true. Dior always finds a way to be as clean as possible. She's a bit of a princess and can be stubborn. She is not, however, stuck up and does not have a bad attitude. Though hesitant at first, Dior will muster up the courage to do whatever needs to be done to attain her goals. It could be rough, dirty, terrifying, but when it's in her way, Dior will get past it. Afterwards she tends to act like these things never happened and not speak of them, hence one of the reasons she is commonly mistaken as having a 'too good for you' attitude. This quirk in her personality is also the reason she came to live in her new home.
Dior loved her sister. She really did. But now that L'amoure had such a patient and protective boyfriend, Dior wanted something more in her life than babysitting her nervous sister. But on the other hand, she knew it would be impossible to leave her forever. She shuddered to think of what would become of poor Lam would become if they were totally separated. Slowly, she made a plan. She would go out into the world, see what she would, and come home again. A happy situation for both herself and her sister. It would not, of course, exactly be a vacation, but it would be something different. That was all she asked.
After a month of planning, Dior had her trip planned. It wasn't easy telling her sister what she planned to do, but Dior had come prepared - around her neck she wore a golden locket that L'amoure had given to her, promising always to keep them together in her heart. The reassurance of her return trip helped too.
When she first started to come upon areas she did not recognize, Dior felt as nervous and frightened as her sister. She continued on with a staunch refusal to turn back set in her mind. From there things got easier... and harder. Dior found that she seemed to lack much of what others considered to be common knowledge. It frustrated her to have to ask questions only to be answered with questions of how far had she come from, and did she need help finding her mother? She was so obviously old enough to travel on her own! This hardened her slightly, enough to make her wary of strangers, but not enough to make her altogether cold. She much preferred to sit and listen to the stories of the those around her than to engage in a conversation.
Like those she met on her way, the land offered difficulties as well as joy to Dior. Much of what she saw was entirely new to her. The forest was her biggest shock. Coming from a wide open plain with mountains visible in the distance, the abundant life in close quarters was quite different. At first, she felt claustrophobic. It didn't take long for the cool air and speckled patches of sunlight to win her over, however and she became quite comfortable. Dior ended up spending most of her time in the forest, which came to fascinate her.
The plan for her trip was round, as to cover as many new places as possible. It seemed almost too soon that she recognized the wide open plains she had come from. Still, she was happy to be close to home. She slowed to a relaxed pace to take in all the open space. Just as she was beginning to feel peaceful and clam, she was startled by the sound of something moving very fast towards her. Listening closely, she prepared to escape or attack. Before she had time to fully make out where the sound was coming from, a blur of gray, blue, and burgundy suddenly burst into her view.
I'm still working out the details of the rest, but the 'blur' is my character Prince, and after talking for a while and I think meeting or helping my other characters in some way she decides that it's time for her to leave Lam with her boyfriend. She only chooses this because they are close enough for frequent visits.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
