I would love to adopt!

Number:
22.

Picture:

Name:
Rebecca
Species:
Wolf.
Age:
Five months; pup.
Personality:
Very sweet, loving, and caring.
Likes:
Gardens, flowers, rabbits (not to eat), and sunshine.
Dislikes:
Storms, being made to eat rabbits, mean people/wolves, being bullied.
Motto:
"
Background:
One sunny day in a wild forest, a litter of wolf pups were born. All of them had natural colors, but not Rebecca. She was the only one who had some light green in her fur. Immediately, when the pups were old enough to walk around, see everything, play, and talk, disaster struck for poor Rebecca. Her siblings hated how she was so different, and since she was the runt, they pushed her around and growled at her, saying mean things that no one, especially a pup, should be forced to go through. Every night when she and her siblings were put to "bed", she would cry. She had no friends. Sure, her mother and father loved her, but she could tell that even they were a little disgusted.

I would love to adopt this gorgeous wolf!

Number:

22

Picture:

Image

Name:

Kalik

Gender:

Male

Species:

Timber Wolf

Age:

Two and a half years.

Personality:

Happy-go-lucky, friendly, kind.

Kalik is generally a happy-go-lucky wolf, despite his tragic past, and is usually very friendly towards others. He always tries to resolve conflicts, rather than create them, and he always tries to make others feel better; some have said it's hard to feel down if Kalik is around, as he has a certain warmth about him.

He isn't the most independant, he likes to have a pack or a group of friends to have around.

He loves to make new friends and finds it easy to do so, and he isn't the most independant either. He greatly prefers to have a large group of friends or a pack to belong to. He isn't entirely dependant on others, though. He is an excellent hunter and could survive fine on his own, but the reason he couldn't live independantly is because he would be completely miserable. Being the happy-go-lucky, friendly wolf he is, having noone around would be horrible, not to mention he can be quite skittish when threatened, especially when alone.

Submissive, skittish, but deep down a brave and courageous wolf.

Kalik hates fighting. He greatly prefers to just submit to an attacker than defend himself and fight. He often chooses the "flight" response over the "fight" response. Deep down though, he truely is a brave and courageous wolf, it just takes a lot for him to actually show it. He does have those rare occasions where he will fight, but only when it is truely needed, or when someone or something is threatening someone he cares about.

Can be shy.

Even though Kalik is very friendly, often able to make friends with complete strangers, he can be extremely shy when he meets a she-wolf he "likes", which is one of the reasons he doesn't have a mate yet, as he is too afraid to even approach his crushes. He isn't shy around all she-wolves, of course.

Can be sarcastic and cocky when in a bad mood.

Another thing about Kalik is that he does indeed have a bad side to him. It takes a lot to make him mad, but when he is in a bad mood, he'll usually just ignore you, but he can be extremely sarcastic and/or cocky.

Likes:

Hunting.

Kalik loves to hunt, and he is quite good at it too. He isn't the strongest or largest of wolves, but his smaller size gives him an advantage. He's a lot quicker and more agile than most wolves. He's is very quick on his feet, able to dodge blows from deer or moose's hooves. Sadly, being quick on his feet isn't that much of an advantage when fighting other wolves, which is why he'd rather just submit.

Traveling.

As long as it's with a pack or group of friends, Kalik loves to travel. Moving territories is a horrible thing for most wolves, but for Kalik, he enjoys it. He likes to see new places, new animals... He becomes bored quickly if he stays in one place for too long.

Swimming.

Kalik actually enjoys swimming. A lot. If he finds himself bored enough, he might just leave the pack lands to take a stroll to a nearby pond or lake. He doesn't mind catching a fish or two while he's at it, either, as he has learned differen't ways to catch them.

Friends.

Kalik, as said in his personality, loves to have an array of friends. He has even befriended animals outside of his own species, such as a few birds. He's miserable if he is without a companion.

Dislikes:

Humans.

He is terrified of humans due to his past. Both his mother and father were murdered by a hunter one winter morning right before his eyes, and he has been hateful and fearful towards Man ever since.

Fighting.

He loves to hunt, but he can't stand fights with other wolves. One of the reasons is because he isn't the strongest of wolves. He isn't the most experienced at fighting either... The only time he will ever fight is when it is truely needed, like when one of his loved ones is under attack.

Extremely hot weather.

He loves the snow and cold weather, so naturally, he dislikes extremely hot weather. He'd prefer snow over any other kind of weather any day.

Background:

It was early Spring; birds where chirping, and the flowers were in full bloom. The grasses were lush and green, and the towering trees had just grown back their beautiful leaves after the long, harsh winter. It was sunny, not a cloud in the sky, and the sun shown down brilliantly. The wind carried with it new signs of life, too - the scents and cries of newborn animals, calling for their mothers... The most noticeable of these were the yips of newborn wolves. In the back of a den nearby was a little ball of fur, which consisted of two beautiful, healthy wolf pups. One female and one male.

A gorgeous, snow-white she-wolf strode into the den, answering the pups frantic cries with one, calm, "Shhhh...", instantly making them quiet. She layed down next to the pups as they began to yip and cry once more, crawling around blindly and sniffing the air, trying to find their way over to her warm belly, seeking out her life-giving milk. The she-wolf simply looked down at the chubby little pups adoringly, a smile spread across her face. "Larka, Kalik... calm down. There is plenty for the both of you." She said softly. She was already picturing them big and strong and on their own, possibly even having their own pups to look after.

The she-wolf looked over her shoulder as another wolf padded in, this time it was a large, brown-colored wolf. The pup's father. "How are they doing, Nakita?" He whispered, his voice deep, but soothing. "They are doing well. The male is a little on the small side... but he is a very handsome wolf, just like you, Hutter. " She smiled, her green eyes sparkling. The male padded closer, touching his nose to her's, "Yes, and the little female is almost as gorgeous as you." Nakita smiled, looking at her mate affectionatly, "Oh Huttser, how lucky I was to have found a wolf like you to be my mate, and how lucky we both are, to have been blessed with such wonderful pups."

That was how it all started. Peaceful, calm, happy... Until It came. The two-legged hunter. Man...

It happened one crisp Winter morning when Kalik and his sister, Sitka, were already eight months old. They were playing outside the entrance to the den, tackling eachother and pulling on eachother's ears... It seemed like every other morning, but when their father's hackles had raised suddenly and he started to growl, it was clearly no ordinary morning.

A tall figure had ran through the trees, and from its shape Huttser knew instantly that it was a threat. It was a human... and it was carrying something in its hand. The wolf soon lost sight of the human; he didn't see the man nearby, cloaked in the darkness of the trees. When Huttser finally spotted the hunter, the gun was already loaded and aimed. It was too late. The trigger was pulled, and the bullet made its way straight through the wolf's chest, tearing its way through his proud heart. Kalik's father let out an agonizing, blood-curdling howl as it hit, and he soon collapsed on the snow-covered ground, the last breath slithering out of his muzzle. His body went limp, and the two siblings knew then that their own father was dead. The wolf they had always looked up to, the wolf they thought was invincible, was now lying on the ground, dead. Killed so suddenly and unfairly by Man.

Their mother bolted out of the cave soon after the gun shot rang out, and gasped as she saw her mate lying there, the snow around him soaked with blood. Before long, she was shot too, and her cries of sorrow and pain peirced the pup's ears. "Kalik, Sitka, run!" She screamed, taking the last ounce of her energy to say that one sentence. Her last sentence. The pups did as she said though - they ran. They ran as fast as they could and didn't look back.

They did escape, but now they were on their own in the vast wilderness, which was just as frightening.

The two siblings started their journey at the worst possible time - Winter. The air was so cold that it seemed like the sky itself would crack like ice, and the snow was coming down harder and faster by the minute. The ground stung the yearling's tender paws, and their fur was covered in a thick layer of snow and ice. Kalik was a bit smaller and weaker than his sister though, and was starting to drift a ways behind her, every muscle in his body aching, and his eyes stung from hours of being hit by snow. "K-Kalik! Come... Come on! W-we have to find sh... shelter!" Sitka cried, trying to make her trembling voice heard over the howling winds. Kalik pushed harder, desperately trying to keep up with his sister, using every ounce of strength he had left, but neither one of the pups could hold on much longer.

Luckily before nightfall, the pups managed to find a small cave. Its entrance was almost completely covered with snow; it was a miracle that Kalik had spotted the small hole in the hillside. It provided them enough warmth and protection to last through the night. They dreaded the morning though, as they knew they'd have to be on the move again. Two near-yearling wolves could not live on their own in such a vast wilderness, they'd need a pack, or at least one other wolf to accompany them. If only they could stop the sun from coming up...

----

The morning came sooner then they had hoped.

Kalik let out a groan as the sun crept its way into the small rock cave, its blinding light making the young wolf's eyes flutter open. He rose to his feet after a few seconds of glaring at the sunlight, and he made his way over to his sister, who was still fast asleep in the far back of the cave, where the sun couldn't reach. "Sitka." He whispered, nudging her side softly. The white wolf' let out an annoyed sigh before opening her gorgeous blue eyes to look up at the male. She reminded Kalik so much of their mother, the white she-wolf who had cared and loved for since birth. The only difference betwen Sitka and their mother, Nakita, was their eyes. Nakita's eyes were green, like Kaliks.

"What?" She hissed through her teeth, her eyes narrowed in a nasty glare. Kalik ignored her scowl, "We've got to go... before the snow begins to fall again. We can't stay here forever." Sitka continued to protest, but after a few minutes of argueing, she admitted that Kalik was right - they couldn't survive by sitting in a cave all day. They needed food, a pack, better shelter...

They left, and decided to head to the lands of the North, where they knew a pack of wolves lived, who wen't by the name of the Lakota pack. They were rumored to be one of the largest packs in the area, and they tended to accept everyone, as long as they were kind and were able to provide something for the pack - protection, food, leadership, wisdom...

It was three months when they had finally reached the Northern Lands. The North had more trees, but it still had those tree-less fields the siblings were used to, with the frozen lakes that made getting a simple drink of water a challenge. The rumored pack was only about thirty miles away, which was a very short distance considering how far they had already traveled. It seemed like luck was on their side, that they were able to find their way and survive at the same time. It looked like they'd have a real pack at last.

Their hardships weren't over yet, though.

----

It all happened one night when the pups were continueing to travel to the Lakota pack lands. They usually didn't travel at night, due to predators and the fact that seeing was more difficult in the dark, but they were so excited to finally find the pack that they couldn't stop the rest... but that was a mistake.

They came across an abnormally barren area. There were no rocks, bushes, trees... nothing. The wolves didn't question the lack of vegetation though, and continued on their way. That was the worst mistakes that they'd ever make.

Kalik and his sister were halfway across the clearing when the noise make them freeze. The quiet noise of ice cracking. The two wolves looked down in utter horror as they realized what was happening - the entire area was a frozen lake, and the ice was cracking right beneath their paws. "Sitka! We have to go back, now!"

Sitka's eyes were wide as she stood frozen in her place. "W-we can't go back! N-not now!" She cried, "We have to keep going! Going forward is just as bad as going back." She was right - they were right in the middle, and either way was just as long. So, they decided to go forward, trembling the entire time.

After awhile, they were just about at the end of the lake when another crack could be heard. Then a yelp and a whimper. Kalik's head snapped in the direction of Sitka, who was standing a ways away, and the ice below her had hundreds of tiny cracks in it. It was a matter of seconds before it would break altogether, and the wolf would fall in. "Run, Sitka! Come on!" Kalik barked, his tail tucked tightly between his legs as he watched his sister, the only family he had left, trembling on the ice. Then, it happened. Another crack! Then a terrified yelp and a splash. Kalik watched in horror as the ice beneath his sisters paws caved in, making Sitka fall into the freezing cold waters. "SITKA!" He cried, running to the edge of the hole. He waited and waited for his sister to surface, but the white she-wolf never came back up. The last family member Kalik had, was gone... His own sister forever frozen under the ice, never to be seen again.

(( If I win him, I'll continue his story, but that's all I've been able to come up with for now..))

Sorry for the horrible drawing, and the fact that I just used one of my editable Oekaki linearts, but I totally forgot the forms were due today, and I didn't have time to create a whole new drawing...

I would like to adopt!

Picture:

Number:
21

Name:
Arcinine

Species:
Arctic Wolf

Personality:
Arcinine is a cold hearted wolf with no sense of humor. He spends his time in solitary places with his thoughts. He was mis-treated as a young pup and his father called him useless and never loved him. His father spent all his time praising his older brother about being the lead hunter and possibly the next alpha. Eventually, Arcinine gave up on wanting to please his father and just ran. He ran form home and never looked back. He still lives out on the frozen tundra, cold and mean.

Likes:
Being alone
Hunting
Fighting
Snow
The brief Arctic summers
Rain and thunder

Dislikes:
Most people
His history
His father
Hot climates

Background:
Arcinine woke up and his father looked over.
"Morning." His father said coldly and looked back down at the elk he was tearing apart. Arcinine growled something about hating his father and looked out the front of their den. After a few minutes, Arcinine just walked out on his father, who was grumbling something about Arcinine never providing for his family.

Arcinine looked out over the frozen tundra with a small sigh. His breath billowed around him as he jogged across the tundra towards the slowly freezing lake. He plunged his muzzle into the freezing water and drank slowly. With a deep sigh, he sat back on his haunches and looked around. White. Nothing but white. The occasional shrub spotted the ground, but that was it.

He plodded back towards his den and saw his father praising his perfect brother. Stalking past them with an angry grunt, he laid down in the back of the den. His father shot him a glance that screamed, "Why can't you be more like your brother you useless lump!" and Arcinine averted his eyes.

Once his father was done praising his brother, he walked over.
"Why can't you be more like him?"
Archinine looked up at him, his eyes blazing. "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO DAD?!" He snapped, putting emphisis on Dad.
His father raised his upper lip above his kanines and growled at him. "You're so useless! All you so is lay around and complain! Get off your fat rump and do something useful with your life!" He growled.
Arcinine snapped. "THAT'S IT! I'm out of here! I'm tired of this!!!!!!" He roared, his fury was positively explosive.

Arcinine raced out of the den, his paws kicking up bits of frost and snow. Tears fell down his face, the wind ripping at his face and his paws began to ache. He came to a stop and walked over to a small cave in the side of a small hill. Looking inside, he found it was empty and settled down in the back. So this was his new life...

Being scolded - She absolutely adores being made a fuss of, and will sometimes go up to others seeking it. But sometimes they refuse and she pushes the point a little too hard... So they scold her. It tears her apart inside to see her people mad at her...Sometimes she feels that she deserves it, but other times, she feels as if they are doing it on purpose to make her feel bad.
Taking baths - She loved to get dirty, but her people don't like other people to see her like that... So they bathe her. She hates it and will try to run away, thrash around in their arms and bark loudly. But she would never dream of hurting someone over it. Although it does feel good when her people rub the shampoo into her fur, she doesn't like the feeling being clean gives her, and the teasing the other dogs give her about it.

I will be here
when you think you’re all alone
Seeping through the cracks
I’m the poison in your bones
My love is your disease
I won't let it set you free
Til I break you

You’ll never know what hit you
Won’t see me closing in
I’m gonna make you suffer
This hell you put me in
I’m underneath your skin
The devil within
You’ll never know what hit you

I tried to be the lover to your nightmare
Look what you made of me
Now I’m a heavy burden that you can’t bear
Look what you made of me
Look what you made of me
I’ll make you see

Some of my words are irish, please see the bottom for the definitions of these words as translated by google translator. I'ma try to make this the least messy I can....

I would like to adopt!

Number: 22

Picture:

Image

Name: Lunaria Dreams

Species: Harmony Solicte Wolf

Personality:

She is on that you can become friends with, and despite some wolves opinion she is one of the friendliest ones in the pack. This does not mean however that she is a pushover, if you try to force her to do something you will be met with tooth and nail. However deep down she is a softy that is the perfect nanny for pups. She is fierily protective, and no harm will come to her charges.

"Laonna agus teaghlaigh a thagann sa chéad" is a saying she lives by most of her life, its literal meaning is "Pups and family come first." In her irish heritage there is another saying however, "Is féidir le Love mairfidh gach triail, agus ní féidir ach ngrá leat a dhéanamh i gcrích go fírinneach." Or "Love can endure all trials, and only love can make you truly complete." She believe in this saying and lets it guide her in her life.

She believes in the powers of the moon, and legends of old magic and sometimes wishes she could use them. Sometimes she thinks she sees the fey but she is not sure. She does have some ties to the old magic through her family but she does not understand how to use that magic, and cannot harness it.

She has been betrayed once before and though she has a light side, she also has a darker side. The beast within her that yearns to be free, and if shes is near death the darker side may come out. Despite this she always sees the light side of things, and will allways try her best.

She dislikes humans and is glad her pack is not located on the edge of the untouched land like most. She does not want to face one and if one does wander into their pack-lands, which almost never happens they quickly wander out again. She always tries to be her own person however and does not to be told of how she should be.

She always tries to be respectful even if the person who is trying to gain that respect does not deserve it. She is fair to all hover and tries her best in all endeavorers. She is trustworthy and that is perhaps one of her most defining characteristics. She can be a bit awkward and even a little shy at first but then she will become more open.

Likes:

Ara is her best friend in the pack and she loves her very much and would do anything for her. Ara is a true friend, and would stand by her through thick and thin. These two are usually inseparable, and where you find Ara you can usually find Dreams. Ara has always called dreams 'cara maith " or a good friend.

The old magic is a big liking for her because she truelly wants to understand it yet she cannot. She has the ability to control it if she could harness that power, yet that eludes her. She can see the fey however and this brings her great joy and sometimes great sorrow as well.

The moon has always been a source of happiness for her, and often it has guided her in many of her endeavores. She call it 'shining draíochta', or shining magic and in fact believes this is where most magic comes from.

Dislikes:

Humans are the main thing that she dilikes, and she tends to try to stay away from them. Lucky for her the pack is in the center of the untouched lands, and not many human come there. If they do the sometimes quickly wander out again.

She really dislikes her position as a guardian but this is the fate that the shaman of her pack bestowed upon her. The reason she dislikes it so much is because it could possibly put her in derect contact with humans, although that is very unlikely. The only thing she does like about being a guardian is that it lets her be in contact with others, and possibly make more friends.

Her inability to harness her powers is one of the things she most dislikes. She does not like it because it meant th she had to become a guardian instead of a shamen like she origanallly wanted. She can see the fey but she cannot harness the power within them.

Background:

In the center of our planet there is a place nown as 'An Tailte untouched', or the untouched Lands... In these lands live many wild and wondrous creature not many have seen in ages. This is my home, home of mo shinsir, and home of mo phacáiste. I have live in these lands for centries, a guardian of the land my duty is 'a chosaint' or to protect and I try my best in the job though it is not 'de mo roghnú' or of my choosing. I'd rather not face the struggles many of my fellow omhnóirí face such as the duine. But this is mo chinniúint, thought I do not wish it.

I would rather be a shaman, or a person who used the d'aois draíochta but the previous shaman deemed my inability to call upon mo draíochta as a hinderance an settled me as a caomhnóir. It would be my duty to protect the pack from harm and to fail was to titim ó onóir, or fall from honor. This is not something I wish to do so I will alway try my best even if I dont like it. I will follow the path of the shining draíochta and will not stray.

Thus is my path and I will live it.

"There is one to your D'fhág," shouted Ara moving to cover me in that direction as the cinn log moved in from all sides. We where trapped and all I could do was hope my friend would get out alive. I was the one they wanted anyway, they knew I d'fhéadfadh a fheiceáil Fey and they thought I could harness that power. However if I could I would not be fighting them at all, I would be learning to use the power.

"Run away Ara Déanfaidh mé iarracht a shealbhú chur orthu!" I shouted over their barks and she looked at me stunned I would even think to try and face these creatures alone. "Rith anois!" I yelled at her and saw her back away from me. For a few second it looked like she would come back but instead she leap over their head and headed off in the direction of our camp, hopefully to get help.

I would like to adopt!

Number: 22

Name: Kapok {named for the trees who’s flowers he looks like in the rainforest}

*

Species: Jungle Shepherd
{Similar to German shepherds in build}

*

Personality: Soft and gentle, his nature is to care for things. He’s not aloof like his sisters who believe their gift makes them more important than other creatures.

Likes: Watching things grow and mature brings him joy. The pitter patter of rain in the forest and the soft light that shines through a spiders web. Things that often go unnoticed make him smile.

Dislikes: The interruption of the circular pattern of life and needless destruction brought on by humans.

Background: Kapok padded softly through the underbrush. The rain had brought plenty of new places for sprouts to spring forth. As the paw prints he left behind finished glowing the ground sprung forth with life. Smiling he wondered how well these sprouts would do. It was an old trail that humans no longer used and there was no need for it to stay as such. He’d much rather see it dissipate into jungle life than sit bare. Besides, the village it once lead to was long gone.
~*~
“Such an unfortunate species” he mused. “I do wish they’d be more careful. It’s like they no longer feel life as the forest creatures do.” Sighing he circled a large older tree. A Cecroipa tree of enormous stature who’s time had been coming for months. A small twig from it’s upper branches crunched under Kapok’s foot and he winced. “Sorry old friend” he said as he gently put his paws on the trees trunk. “Soon you will be able to give back to the earth just as you’ve given to the creatures in so many ways.”
His sisters would have just ignored the old tree. “It was dying wasn’t it” would be their response. “I’ll get around too it”, would be another. With a sigh he wandered away from the tree. He’d have to come back tomorrow and check on it again. He’d need to plant a new seed so that the tree could return to the forest anew. He just didn’t understand his sisters.
~*~
They were guardians of the forest just the way he was. However he supposed their flippant nature and random growth gallivants did keep the jungle interesting. They certainly kept the humans from getting too deep in the jungle. It’s a good thing we are translucent as often as those three run circles around humans. Shaking his head wove his way through some vines. A monkey frog jumped over him after a bug. The antics of the frog caught Kapoks attention and he forgot his worries about his sisters. He sat and laughed as the bug swiftly darted around the frog as if teasing it.
~*~
“Life is so interesting” he mused. It’s a shame I can’t join in more than I do. I’d love to play chase with the primates.
He spotted a small crawling bug and placed his paw over it. He could feel it moving along as if nothing was there. Saddened a bit he lay down softly. “Life everywhere and I can only join in by helping things move on and be reborn. “I long to love someone and to interact with something other than my sisters and the flora” he thought as he laid his head on his paws.
“Tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll try again”
