Haldis

How would you use him:

If I were able to list all of the ways I use my Goennecs now, to show how I'd use Haldis, I'd probably die before I got halfway through. I headmate with them, I draw them, I write them, I RP them, I dream about them... I don't think there's any (decent, socially acceptable) method of interacting with them that I don't do. Haldis would be no different than that - he would join my herd in the massive expanse of my imagination.
All I can say is… love at first sight. Haldis would be the perfect roguish Goey to keep Aussie on the tips of his hooves (and toes). Standing two inches taller than the Prince/Prime, I can just see the tension between the two, and the ego that Haldis could swim in. He would be the Gaston to Delacroix’s (very loose) Belle, though he will not really be after her – just the opening to Aussie that she can offer.

Define your Goennec:

Personality:

Egocentric. Haldis’s ego is the size of the universe, twice over. He has no sense of modesty, and his world revolves around him alone. As a result, he is also the most obnoxiously narcissistic git that has ever existed.
Easily Insulted. Haldis takes things personally. If anyone claims to be better than him at even the most minute things, he will find it a major offence and challenge them, making their life miserable as much as possible.
Lustful. Haldis does not lust after others the way most do. What he wants, his mind obsesses over until he is out of his mind, demanding whatever – or whoever – it may be. He will fight until the very bloody end, as long as he gets what he wants.
Prideful. Haldis is extremely proud of himself, from his appearance to his stance to his “stunning” personality. He sees no fault in himself, other than the thought that he might just be too good for anyone else to handle.
Rebellious. Haldis hates that he is not the leader of the herd. He rebels against authority at every turn, trying to show others that he is better than the herd’s laws.

Likes:

Himself. As with any narcissist, Haldis comes first in everything. He does not care about anyone else in the world, other than those that love him.
Ewes. Second to himself, ewes are Haldis’s favorite playthings. To him, they are lesser beings, but he enjoys their admiration all the same, as long as they love him completely and let him do whatever he wants without question.
Fighting. Haldis loves fighting, especially to prove himself or show that he’s better. He loses only to Aussie, Rannoch, and Secretariat – all of whom he hates challenging. Aussie is far too agile for him, Rannoch is stronger, and Secretariat isn’t above using his Plane-Swapping ability on him.
Wooing. Gaining more admirers is one of Haldis’s favorite things to do in his spare time. A casual (but awkward) flirt, it usually doesn’t take much for him to win someone over.
Large Harems. Having a large group of admirers, no matter how forced, makes Haldis’s day. It makes him feel that more manly than those that do not participate in the Siv, or do not have more than three or four ewes to call their own.

Dislikes:

Lazuli, Aussie and Kilaun. The Prime lineage that Lazuli began is the bane of Haldis’s existence. Because he was not ‘chosen’, he has to fight his way to Primacy – but that is no easy task when the Primes utilize a superior fighting method.
Critics. Haldis hates criticism. Absolutely hates it… and so he loathes anyone who criticizes him, further fuelling his need for revenge.
Wooing. As much as he loves getting admiration, Haldis hates having to work for the attention and affection of more stubborn ewes. He has been known to ridicule particularly hard-to-get ones, such as Cassiopoeia.
Mating. Haldis hates making “real” relationships. He doesn’t mind the whole physical bit, but the emotional ties that come with it could be done without. Relationships tie him down and make gaining more “fans” harder.
Zi. Haldis believes Zi is too loose with her body; the irony is that he is just as bad, if not worse. However, he does have several blank spots in his memory that may have been her fault….

Story:

Haldis was born the center of attention. He was the top kid among all of his peers before the little changeling Aussie arrived, and the large silver Co-Prime took him in. It was at that point that an obnoxiously popular little ram became a pit of boiling revenge and vanity, always trying to prove himself better than anyone else in an attempt to try and get that attention back. He truly despises Aussie for more than just being Prime, but being the one that took away the attention and captured his fans, leaving him in the dust.

As the kids grew, he challenged Aussie over and over, trying to regain ‘his’ spot in the herd. However, as time went on, Lazuli trained his little apprentice, and the smaller ram began using more and more of his body’s strength – agility – in their battles to counter Haldis’s strength and size. The battles, at one point, were a spectacle to see, but they soon became so common and the end result so predictable that no one hung around to watch Haldis’s defeat, other than those that were cheering for one or the other.

When he noticed this trend, Haldis was insulted. How could anyone not want to see the great hero try to defeat the intruder? The interloper? The alien? The idea was as foreign as Aussie himself. Haldis started warring with those that spoke ill of him, male and female alike. Males were often left with bruises and injuries after his strong, bareknuckle fighting turned to them. Females, on the other hand, were left with far worse, but most were too embarrassed or mollified to speak up against him.

As he grew, his vengeful personality settled into more of a boastful narcissism – his punishments toward the females that dared to criticize him changed from violent to a more determined form of playful flirting and wooing that usually ended with them becoming just another trophy groupie to add to his ‘collection’. Zi was one of the few that did not fall for this trick, especially because she used the same method on him – granted, he does not remember that particular excursion, but he has noticed the odd dissent in his little flock when his memory started up again. Of course, if he had noticed the youth of that year, he would have spotted one abandoned newborn that bore an odd resemblance to him, that he would not have remembered siring.

Upon Delacroix and Kilaun’s entrance into the herd, Haldis began bargaining with Katili to injure or kill the kid, all the while trying to claim the prize ewe as his own. It was his own brazen action that let to Aussie’s claim over her, leading to another humiliating defeat from Aussie’s quick hooves.

He decided that he’d still have her, though, just to break Aussie. No matter what.

Nothing could stop him.

Nothing.

Haldis stood at the Prime’s usual post, his dark tail swishing violently behind him, stirring the morning mist. He was, for once, alone; he had left his groupies as they slept, hoping to come back with the ultimate prize – Primacy. If he could just would the quick little beast, he’d have exactly what he needed….

Aha. There he was, walking with his makeshift family. Delacroix lead, her soft eyes admiring every little detail… she would be of no consequence. Kilaun was at her heels, a minor threat in the operation. He was learning from the Prime himself, yes, but surely, surely, he wasn’t good enough to wound the great Haldis.

And there. There he was, in all of his pathetic glory. Aussie watched the pair in front of him, his head lowered slightly, as if he were trying to hear them speak, but didn’t want to be involved in the conversation. The Prime was blinded by love and relationships. How could he take care of a herd?

“AUSSIE!” Haldis’s booming voice echoed in the still air, and he stamped his challenge on the smooth stone below him. No words were needed, really, as the pair had fought enough times to assume the positions each time they spotted one another. Haldis charged forward, just missing the Prime’s pale flank as he bounded out of the way.

Aussie, not to be outmatched by the surprise attack, used the trunk of a tree as leverage, ramming headlong into Haldis’s flanks.

The fight lasted only a few minutes, but it was long enough. Aussie, Delacroix and Kilaun continued on down the path, leaving Haldis to struggle to his feet once more and hobble off to lick his wounds. Maybe he’d even let one of his groupies do it for him.

That’d make them happy.

Sienna

Age:
Young adult (about 2 and 1/2 years).

How would you use him/her:
Sienna would be a lovely addition to my herd of Goennecs, for I think she would be a fantastic addition. She would be more of happy, but troubled individual, which I think would add good diversity to the herd. She would be a perfect friend for Fade, who is generally seen as an annoying twat to the rest of the herd members. I would of course draw her, order art of her, write about her, and possibly RP her if I can find the time. I plan on drawing a large picture with all of my Goeys in it, and I would love to be able to add Sienna into it as well. Also, I instantly loved her design, it's just so gorgeous and eye catching. I would most definitely use her as much as I possibly could.

Define your Goennec;

Personality:

Simpleminded & Naive.
Partly due to her young age, and partly due to her mindset, Sienna is a rather naive and ignorant individual. Her thoughts are almost always the obvious answers to everything, and she has trouble thinking too hard into things. She is not the brightest Goennec out there, although she does retain a respectable amount of intelligence. Her creativity and innovation is severely lacking. She never wants something better out of her life, for she is quite content with most things about it. She simply doesn't think too much into the problems, and goes with the flow of things.
Optimistic & Cheerful.
Sienna is an incredibly optimistic and encouraging Goennec, who's goal in life is to brighten the lives of as many individuals as she possibly can. To her, everything is amazing and fantastic, if seen with the right point of view. Although her past has given her many issues and problems to deal with, she doesn't let that hold her back or get her down, for she truly believes that there is a happy end to all of it. Even when a situation seems bleak and hopeless, Sienna will always try to find a way to make things better. She believes that it is important to live life to its fullest, and to never let the bad times hold you back from happiness.
Outgoing & Sociable.
Sienna is a total social butterfly, and she thrives on attention and company. She isn't the type to go around making scenes out of everything just for the sake of gaining attention, good or bad. She takes it as it comes, which is often due to her sociable nature. She is most often the first to introduce herself, and will reach out to others no matter what she may think of them.
Oblivious & Unobservant.
One of Sienna's more annoying traits seems to be her inability to pick up on others' emotions and body gestures. She is completely oblivious to these things, which is something that gets her into trouble often. She has been known to unintentionally insult others and say things a bit offensive. Most things slip past her, and it is incredibly easy to sneak up on her. She isn't often very aware of her surroundings, which has gotten her into trouble with predators before.
Indifferent & Neutral.
Sienna tends to dislike picking sides and arguing against others, mostly due to her simple mindedness. She believes that it takes too much thinking into, and in the end is just not worth it. From past experiences, she has discovered that arguments often end up badly for both parties, and has come to the conclusion that she will try her best to stay out of disputes. She is typically the neutral peacemaker when arguments break out, as she would much rather help to see that an argument is resolved peacefully than participate in one herself. She has a bad habit of being indifferent about others' emotions, because they tend to be hard for her to interpret and understand. Most of the time Sienna doesn't bother to figure them out.
Troubled & Stressed.
Sienna has an unhealthy obsession with being perfect. She pushes herself beyond her limit, just so she can validate herself and her existence. She believes that since her parents had never loved her, she feels that she is not good enough for anyone. To remedy this, she thinks that she has to exceed all expectations, and to go above and beyond. She can never feel good about herself no matter how hard she tries, and her self esteem is often rather low. This of course puts a lot of stress on her, and there have been instances where she has emotional breakdowns from all of this pressure. She has a troubled mind that is filled to the brim with bad morals and a guilty conscience.
Malicious & Vengeful.
Although naive, Sienna is very far from being innocent. Do her wrong some way, and expect to have hell to pay for it. She is notorious for seeking revenge, and is not above using cruelty to do so. When she is seeking revenge, it is almost with the intent of harm, whether it be emotional or physical. Her methods are straightforward and to the point, and she will not dance around getting the job done. She has a malevolent soul, which is veiled behind the cheerful and joyful antics that the outside world sees. Although, she only time she shows this malicious spirit of hers is when she has been majorly wronged in some way. Most of the time, her optimistic outlook on life is genuine and true.

History/Story:

When Sienna was born, she was an unwanted child. Her father was a highly respected ram in her former herd, and it was always foreseen that he would be the proud father of a son. How such a ram could be respected, nobody knew. That son would have been his single pride and joy, the thing that he would most love. Her mother was of a noble and good heart, although she was much too easily manipulated. Sienna was the firstborn child, and much to her father's distaste, she was most definitely a female. When her father heard news of his daughter, he was quite irritated, almost enraged. He was not mad at Sienna's mother though, he was angry with Sienna. He wholeheartedly believed that it was entirely her fault that she happened to be born female. Still, he made use of what he was given, but not without protesting the thought of keeping this child. With countless arguments between her mother and father, it was uncertain if she was to be abandoned and left to die. In the end, her mother won, and Sienna was still a part of the herd. Not that this was challenged by her father. He basically hated her guts, which is something she could never get over. If she couldn't even win the love of her own father, then what good was she?

At a young age, Sienna was constantly verbally abused. Her father relentlessly insulted her, and he could never think any good of her. Sienna's mother didn't help much either, for her father had convinced that that Sienna was a demon child who didn't deserve their love. Sienna was raised as a ram traditionally would have been, in the aspect that she was taught to fight at a very young age. Her herd was all about tradition, and the ewes were rarely ones to engage in such activities as fighting and being rowdy with each other. They were much more lady like, although many did know how to give persistent rams a good jab with the horns or a well placed kick. Still, it was not typical for females to be taught how to act like a male. Sienna was taught to be showy, competitive, and aggressive. She was possessive, and irritable, much like her father. She was taught to be just like him after all. Like father, like daughter. This of course poisoned her mind with all of her father's twisted morals and beliefs. She couldn't think for herself, for she didn't have the intelligence to do so. An unfortunate trait gained from her mother. Sienna developed an indifference for others' emotions, and treated most others an inferior to herself. She was widely disliked throughout the herd, but she didn't understand this of course.

She was outcast from the other kids, as they thought of her as a freak of some sort. She was stronger than any of the other kids, and a good bit meaner as well. She grew up without many friends or others to rely on, because of her inability to take a stand for herself and assert her individuality. There was also her obsession with being perfect. All she wanted to do was to please her father and to feel that she was actually worth something for once. She wanted to feel important. Most of all though, she had wanted to feel loved. When Sienna's little brother had been born, she was simply tossed aside like a piece of trash. He instantly gained the love and affection of their parents, and jealousy ran deep into Sienna's veins. They doted on him and loved him dearly. It was all the things Sienna wished she had. Instead, she was regarded as a worthless being who never deserved to live. The whole herd didn't think much better of her either. The animosity and tension between her and the rest of the herd was gradually increasing as she got older and older. Thus, she was pretty much on the verge of going insane from the constant insults, abuse, and loneliness. She was suffering greatly, but she didn't have anyone to ease the pain. She simply had herself and her troubled mind. She was nearly at her breaking point, and just the smallest mistake would have made her go off the deep end. That single mistake happened to be a single word uttered from the lips of her father. She was going to get revenge somehow, for all the suffering he had caused her.
