Name: Zara
Species: Bat
Personality: Zara is a hyper active little girl! She zips and zooms all over the place when she's excited. Although, when she calms down she is the sweetest little angel. Thats why she has her halo and feathers. The wildly colored feathers represent her wild streak and her halo shows that she has a sweeter side. Zara is usually found laying on her masters pillow drawing, or possibly sleeping, but this is only in her sweet moments. Zara has been known to break things when she goes wild and no one can really stop her. She's very timid around strangers and prefers to stay among people she knows.
Likes: Sugar, Fall, Fresh snow, Warm summer days, Lemonaid, Drawing, Beaches, and fancy hotels
Dislikes: Getting hurt, Super cold days, Salty things, Greasy foods, Snakes, and new people
Background: Hanging upside down, Zara let all the blood rush to her head. She giggled and let go of the tree branch, enjoying the brief adrenalin rush she got from free falling, before she wipped out her wings and soared upwards. She twirled and spun in the air, enjoying every moment, before she heard her mother call out to her. "Zara! Get back here before you hurt yourself!" Zara just rolled her eyes and replied glumly "Yes mama..." She fluttered back to her mothers side and hung from the branch beside her. "Mama?" She asked quietly "Yes dear?" Her mother turned to her. "Why am I the only bat that seems to enjoy life?" Her mother stared at her for a long moment beforw replying. "Because honey. All of us adults don't have time to play. We work hard to feed you wild children. Now go to bed." And with that, her mother wrapped her wings tighter around her silky black body and dozed off. Zara watched the sun rise before falling asleep. "I'm going to have the most interesting life ever. I'll never be bored." She promised her mother, just before she fell asleep.
Zara awoke when her mother slowly stretched her leathery wings. "Wake up Zara. We only have a few hours to hunt." So her mother took off and flew after a swarm of moths. "Alright mama..." She drowsily stretched her wings as well and took of, rather haphazardly, into the night. Zara was fluttering along, intent on catching a particular moth, when she crashed into what seemed to be a giant spider web. "MAMA! Help!" She screeched loudly as it collapsed on her and a pale white hand reached out for her. "What do you make of this Paul? A little bat with a halo! Huh... How odd. YEOWCH!" The human screamed at Zara bit into his hand with her tiny little teeth. In return, the human threw her roughly into a cage. "The little wretch bit me!" The man exclaimed. Zara snickered and peered out of the cage. The human called Paul looked into her cage. "We should take it back to the lab..." He said to the other human, who was now swearing under his breath. "Do whatever you want! Just keep the little monster away from me." Paul just rolled his eyes and loaded her into the back of some kind of vehicle.
Zara awoke the next day in a new cage. The bars were cold and the food she found was discusting. She pushed it out of the cage and sat smugly in the corner. Teach them to feed her crudy food. The weeks passed and no one came to her rescue. Ahe thought of her mother, who was probably giving herself a heart attack from worrying about her. Zara sat in the cage, living the same routine every day, hoping that she would escape someday.
