I would like to adopt!

Number: 11

Picture: Image

Name: Twilight

Species: Domestic Cat

Personality:
A quiet house cat, who is clueless about life itself, but learns each day by her neighbor, Adam, about the purpose of everything. After adopted by 25 year-old Hannah, moved out to the country towards Idaho. Overall, would rather fight than talk, since talking leads to annoyance.

Family:
Mother: got hit by a car
Father: Died before birth
Male sibling: Died of illness
Female sibling: Living in a huge mansion with a mate, and also pregnant

Likes: Being stroked, fence watching, and Adam. Also enjoys basking in the sun. Spends hours outside with the birds and butterflies. Loves hunting and sleeping

Dislikes: The neighborhood dogs, falling, and sweets(in the beginning). Dislikes Hannah and how she treats her. No love, or attention. Hates being told no, or someone disagreeing with her.

Background:

The sun's rays came beaming down upon my fur. I slowly blinked my eyes open to take in its sunshine. I yawned and stood up. I was very bored and the day has barely started. I sighed, what had gone wrong? When I was a baby, I loved waking up each morning, with my siblings, and playing outside all day, as my mom told me before she died. I remember my mom's dark brown fur, with small spots that were barely noticed, her fur always seeming to shine. She had hazel-like eyes that would always twinkle at night. I always thought back to how she died..I was pretty sure she got hit by a car. I rember it like it was just yesterday....

"Mommy! Mommy!" I cried. I was excited to show her what my brother, sister, and i found. She smiled and walked across the street toward us. But someone left rope all over the road...and her foot got caught. Without warning, i watched my mother fall over. I could hear the pain in my baby brothers voice, "MOMMY!!!!!" I was worried, and my sister started crying as she pointed at the lights coming by. I turned to look, and saw a huge semi truck. I tried screaming for mom to hurry. She turned at us, and mouthed the words "I love you." Horrified, we all watched the semi truck run her over. We all knew she was dead, and i never cried, but that night, all three of us bawled like babies.

I shuddered at the flashback. Now, I thought life was pointless. I stared at the ground feeling depressed. I had been depressed for a while, ever since my mother died. My father, however, died before I was born.Things changed when my mom died about a year ago.

"Juliette!"

The call startled me out of my thoughts, and I grimaced. It was her; the human with the name for me I despised. She was kindly, though, and gave me food and water, so I endured it. I sat and listened to her story.

"Oh, my gosh. What am i going to do Juliette? Todd just stopped talking to me for no reason!" She kept on blabbering, although she should know I didnt understand her. I couldnt bear it anymore and walked away, whether I was hungry or not. Hannah was angry with me leaving, but what could she do about it? Lock me outside "forever" then open the door back up 5 minutes later and apologizing?

I went on to the porch outside and sat on the railing. Thinking it would make me feel better, I tried to think of my siblings, but it only made things worse. Me and my siblings went to the pound after we were left alone. I was sad when one of my siblings went to an alley and my other sibling, killed because no one wanted him. I was angry with myself. I should have saved my siblings. Most cats would dream to have my life. I jumped off and went into the backyard. There was a new scent...it smelled quite odd.

I laid down and fell asleep, ignoring the odd smelling fragrance. I woke up to see big blue eyes staring at me. I looked drowsily at the eyes and spat at him for frightening me. I suppose the creature found amusement by it. I backed up to see that there was no creature, just an orange tom. I ignored him like him being there would change anything.

He sat there, just staring at me."What do you want?" I asked, becoming very irritated. He just shook his head and replied,
"Oh, nothing" I twitched and fell back asleep. I could feel his eyes burning into me. He obviously wasnt going to leave.

"Umm...im guessing your not leaving anytime soon." I rolled my eyes and stood up, "What do you want, you tom cat?"
"Ha...just wanted to know why your so depressed all the time. Oh and I have a name, it's Adam." He smirked and stood proudly.
"Well, uh, Adam, first off, its none of your business about my feelings, and second, its impolite to stare." I replied with an irritated tone.

He sighed and said okay. I watched him hop Hannah's fence and go off somewhere. I felt bad in some sort of way. Adam, I repeated in my head. I have to remember that....I went back in to my home, drank some water and fell asleep on Hannahs lap.

I woke to a wonderful sizzling sound and smell. It was Hannah, cooking bacon; I had smelled it before. It was good to eat, and I was eager to get some.

I pranced over to her side, until I saw there was a third there.

Adam.

I sat down in silence, staring at Adam. He was giving me a grin that seemed to say "Yeah, I'm in your home." My ear twitched as if he werent even there. "Oh Juliette, I found this little cat, and he seemed hungry." She said with a sympathetic voice, as if she knew how I was thinking.

I walked over slowly, and didnt know notice my little toy mouse. I tripped, and fell on my face. Adam let out a mrrr of amusement. I hissed quietly. It wasnt funny that i fell, nor was it my fault my touse mouse had been brought back out. I hadnt touched that in years, but im guessing Hannah brought it out for Adam. I had guessed that since, one, Adam seemed immature, and two, because he was playing with it right now.

I jumped on the windowsill next to the stove, with the sizzling bacon. Hannah payed no mind that I was there. She walked over to the fridge to get milk, and in a blink of an eye, i snatched a piece of bacon and devoured it. Adam stared at me in a shocked way, but then laughed.

Hannah picked me up, and set me back on the floor. I walked towards the couch and climbed up on it. Adam followed me and did the same. He laid right next to me. I was embarrassed and blushed a little. He grinned and I frowned. I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep, with Adam watching me.

I was startled and woke up when I heard a loud crash. I quickly turned my head to see Adam on the floor. Blood was trickling from his pelt. I ran toward him. It seemed like he accidently fell over some dishes, one of them including a knife. I frantically looked for a cloth, but there was no time since Adam seemed to be dizzy. I licked the scratch trying to get it to stop bleeding.

It eventually stopped, but Adam wouldnt wake up. I sat next to him all morning, hoping he wasnt dead. I finally gave up hope, and walked over to the couch, until i heard a faint voice that said "Twilight".

I turned around to see Adam trying to stand up. I stared in awe and pranced over to him. I purred and felt so happy. I could tell he was happy because he was smiling. "It was nothing big Twilight", He murmured, "I'm fine, and thats all. You make it seem like I was dying, just overwhelmed that the knife hit me is all." I didnt care, I purred more and licked his face. I then laughed because Hannah was still asleep.

Adam started purring and his tail intertwined with mine. I was happy, and found meaning to life. Adam and I, we were forever mates. In the end, I had 3 kits, that I named, Winter, Scott, and yes surprisingly, Juliette. We all stayed in that little house. Adam, the kits, and I, were living the dream.

The End <3

I would like to adopt!
Number: 11
Picture: Image
Name: Lumi (Finnish for "Snow")
Species:
Domestic Feline (Snowshoe)
Personality: Lumi has a very stubborn and determined personality. She is friendly to those the trust, but she feels that she doesn't trust them, she will act very shy and may lash out at them when she is angry.
Likes: Snow, Winter, Fish, Her mother Valo, Running.
Dislikes: Dogs, Hot weather, Swimming, Rats.
Background: Lumi was born in the streets of Finland to a young she-cat named Valo (Finnish for “Light”). Lumi had no siblings, and struggled to survive with her mother, eating scraps of food from trash cans and catching a mouse or two. For a year, Lumi and her mother stayed together in the small Finnish town. But then, Lumi decided that she wanted to do more than just stay in the dirty streets of this small town, eating garbage and scrawny creatures the rest of her life. So Lumi and her mother decided to go into the forest, which was mainly a vast expanse of pines. They found a small spring that gurgled out of a hillside, and they made a home in one of the bracken bushes. They made a large cavity in the center of the bush, filled it with pine-needles and moss, and then filled up the cracks in the walls with more pine-needles and branches. The secure den kept them warm through the night, along with the heat coming from the spring. When Lumi woke up the next morning, she decided to go hunting. She emerged from the den to find that the ground had been dusted with a fresh layer of snow. She had just caught a Snowshoe hare for their meal when she noticed footprints on the ground. She buried her meal and decided to follow the tracks deeper into the forest. Suddenly, a large shadow sprang from the tree and grabbed her back, pushing her down into the snow with a THUD. She screeched and tried to fight, but her opponent had her pinned to the ground.
“Who are you? What are you doing her?” Growled the attacker.
Hissssss…. Why should I tell you?” Lumi hissed with teeming fury.
“Maybe I’ll spare your life” It hissed back.
An animal rustled in the nearby bush, and the attacker was momentarily distracted. She used all her strength and pushed the attacker off, bolting up the nearest tree. Finally, she could get a good look at the attacker. He was a shaggy white cat with large gray patches all over him. He seemed to be pretty well fed and in good shape by the looks of his muscles.
“Get back down here and fight you coward!” He yelled.
“Not until you tell me who YOU are, and why you attacked me!” She meowed in reply.
The male cat stared at her, but he could see the stubbornness in Lumi’s eyes.
“My name is Heikko, and YOU are trespassing on MY territory! Now may I ask who YOU are?” He snarled. (Heikko is Finnish for “Weak”)
“My name is Lumi” She shouted from the tree. “I was just hunting to feed my mother and me.”
“Hmph. Well, Lumi, you and your mother won’t last a quarter moon out here in the woods.” He replied. (a quarter moon = 1 week)
“What makes you think that?” She responded in annoyance.
“Well first off, you don’t even know how bitter cold it gets in the woods in the winter. This light snow is nothing compared to the blizzards that come during winter.” He huffed.
“There were blizzards in the town too!” Lumi said.
“Yeah, but the furless creatures keep the snow out of their pathways. The buildings also block you from the intense wind. Out here, you’ll freeze.” he retorted.
Lumi thought about this carefully. What if it did get too cold for her and her mother? But they had the nice warm den, and the small hot spring. They would be plenty warm.
“Also, you won’t be able to catch anything out here. You’re used to eating trash and garbage. You have to actually RUN to catch your food.” Said Heikko.
“Well, as a matter of fact, I just caught a rabbit!” she replied hotly.
Heikko seemed surprised at this. “YOU caught a rabbit?”
“Yes, I did. So, whose to slow to catch their food?” she said.
Heikko just ignored her comment.” So, are you going to stay up in that tree all day, or are you going to come down?”
“I’m not coming down! You’ll rip my pelt off!” She yelled.
“You’re no threat to me. I’m not going to hurt you.” He stated.
Not a threat? Was he saying that she was too weak to fight? “I’ll show him!” Lumi thought in displeasure.
Lumi leapt down from the tree, right on top of Heikko. She caught him completely by surprise, and she had him pinned to the ground. But after spending a whole lifetime in the woods, he had developed strong muscles, and he flung her off, turning around and pinning her again.
“If you’re going to survive out here, you’re going to have to learn how to fight.” He hissed.
Then, they both heard something in the distance. A loud cry of an animal.
“Dog!” Yelled Heikko. He jumped off Lumi and stood up. “Run!” he yelled to her.
A large dog burst out of the bushes and stared down the two cats. It bolted forward, right toward Lumi. She gasped, with her tail fluffed out. “It’s coming toward me!” She thought. She bolted off into the other direction, her heart was beating a mile a minute, and her mind racing. The dog’s hot breath as it got closer and closer. Suddenly, Lumi lost her footing and she crashed face-first into the snow. She turned around to see the giant creature looming over her. Her eyes grew wide, and heart sank. She turned away and winced, almost feeling the teeth sink into her fur. It was just about to bite her when it she heard a loud screech erupt nearby, and the dog reeled back in pain. Lumi looked up and saw that Heikko had clamped onto the dogs back. The dog howled and shook, but Heikko held on tight. Finally, the dog gave up and ran back into the brush. Heikko jumped off the dog’s back, and landed in the snow, panting.
“Are you ok?” Yelled Lumi.
Pant…... yeah……” replied Heikko. “You have to be more alert… that dog would have killed you…”
Heikko stood up and shook off the snow and dog fur that clung to him pelt.
“T-Thank you…” said Lumi.
“Hmph. Just stay out of trouble. I won’t always be here to save you.” He said. With that, he walked into the brush and disappeared. Lumi stood there, frozen. Heikko had just saved her life, and he thought nothing of it. He had just shook it off. Lumi walked back, picking up her rabbit before heading home. When she returned, Valo had woken up.
“Lumi! Where have you been? I’ve been worried about you! I heard a dog barking! Did you see it? Were you hurt?” Said Valo urgently.
“Sigh… yes, I’m fine.” Said Lumi tiredly. She ate some of the rabbit and then gave the rest to her mother. Then, she drifted off into a deep sleep…

_______________________________________________________________________

The next morning, she woke up to find that the snow had grown even deeper. She checked on her mother, and then went outside. She was stalking through the brush when she noticed a large bird. It was jet black, and almost as big as her. She slowly crept forward, the snow muffling her every move. She tensed up, and lept forward. The bird struggled and attemted to fly. But it was over. She dug a hole in the snow and laid the bird in it. “The feathers will make a great nest.” She thought. She continued to hike through the forest when a smell hit the roof of her mouth. “Heikko!” She thought. Lumi looked around, expecting to find him nearby. But there were no footprints. “Where could he be? There’s no other way he could be nearby, because there would be footprints…” Then she knew where he was. She looked up, meeting a pair of yellow eyes. Heikko sat in the tree, glaring down at her. “What are you doing up there?” She yelled.
Without a reply, he disappeared back into the fluffy green cloud of pine-needles.
“He travels through the trees! That’s why I couldn’t find his footprints! But…why was he following me?” She thought in confusion.
She looked up at the towering pine. She ran forward and grabbed onto the bark and hauled herself up into the fluffy green. Once she reached a branch, she sat down, panting from the hard work. “How does he do this all the time?” she wondered. She tried to leap from branch to branch, but she still struggled to hold on. She made a far leap, just missing the branch. She crashed down to the soft, snowy ground. When she sat up, she could hear muffled laughter. She looked up to see Heikko again, clinging to one of the branches.
“Why are you following me?” She questioned him.
Heikko jumped down from the tree in one graceful leap, landing right next to Lumi.
“I was just making sure you didn’t get hurt.” He huffed.
Lumi’s ears grew hot. “I can take care of myself. I don’t need you to babysit me!” she retorted.
“Yeah, I’m sure you could have handled that dog all by yourself.” said Heikko. “Anyway, I was wondering if you would like a tour of the forest. If you’re going to live here, you may as well learn some more about the woods.”
“Wait, so now, you want to help me? Yesterday you tried to kill me!” She replied.
He just seemed to brush off her comment. “C’mon, let’s get moving.”
Heikko showed her good places to find food, water, and supplies for shelter. He showed her the furless creature’s cottage. Apparently, they owned the dog that had attacked us. It must have gotten lose, because usually, it stayed in the territory behind the cottage. It barked and yapped at us, but thankfully, it couldn’t reach us. Finally, Hiekko came to a small patch of brush. The place smelled strongly of cat. There was a small tunnel at the front of the brush pile.
“This, is my home.” He said.
It seemed very secure, tightly packed with pine-needles to keep out the freezing wind and snow. There was a smell prey coming from a small heap of snow. He noticed Lumi looking at the pile.
“THAT, is my food storage for winter. Touch that, and I’ll claw your face off.” He meowed.
“Is he serious, or is he just joking?” Lumi worried.
“Anyway, it’s getting dark. You probably won’t be able to find your home at night. You…. You can stay with me if you would like.” He said quietly as he stared at the ground.
Lumi’s ears grew hot. “I guess….. I can stay with you tonight.” said Lumi. “I’d get lost trying to navigate through the woods when I can’t see.”
Lumi walked into the den and saw that it was thickly layered with moss, fur, and feathers. Heikko laid down in the corner of the den and quickly fell asleep. Lumi curled up next to him, and drifted off into a peaceful sleep…

(If I get her, I will continue the story! <3 )

I would like to adopt!
Number: 4.
Picture: Image
Name: Atare (Ah-tah-ray)
Species: German Smili
Personality: Once happy, bubbly and popular with other young Smili, Atare's personality changed for the worse when one of her brothers died. Atare is now quiet, independent, somewhat grumpy and never Smili-talks like she used to. She is still proud and relatively dominant, and she is a formidable hunter. She cannot get along very well with other Smili any more. She is probably undergoing a long case of a kind of Smili "depression". :?
Likes:
Hunting
Hunting is what a Smili does. And since she has no time for socialising, hunting is what Atare does.
Being alone
Atare likes being with others no longer. They disturb the silence she loves.
Silence
Yep, she likes silence.
Trees
Trees are fun to climb, don't talk and are vital for hunting. Therefore, Atare likes them.
Prey
Prey is food, food is nice. Atare also finds hunting it fun.
Birds
Atare seems to have an affinity with birds, trying to communicate with them. Atare uses the "singing" usually reserved for breeding interests to "talk" to the birds.
Nature
Atare likes nature because on its own, it is quiet, peaceful and calming.
Dislikes:
Humans
The hateful humans constantly disturb Atare's peace with loud, unnatural noises.
Loud noise
Atare loves silence, therefore she hates loud noises.
Man-made things
The horrible, unnatural monsters that humans make are loud and emit loud noises. Once, Atare couldn't find anything to hunt, and she happened across a shiny item. It tasted cold and foul and smelt of human.
Domesticated animals
Animals that should have been free now walk, bound to the humans, and act stupidly.
Background: Atare grew up in a large German Smili tribe. She had two brothers, who were twins, and thus very close. When Atare was born, she was also very close to her brothers, and developed the same bright, outgoing personality. She was, therefore, immensely popular and well socialised, and learnt to hunt and playfight early.
--------------------------------
One day, disaster struck. One of her brothers had been out hunting. He had been leaping out of a tree, and had missed his prey. He was found, dead. Atare was devastated.
---------------------------------
For several days, the Smili tribe went into a stage of mourning, and highly honoured him. Atare and her remaining brother grew even closer, and never went anywhere without each other. But slowly, Atare's personality seemed to change. She gradually started to become more independent, and amused herself by going on long hunts and playing with pebbles. She did not take part in any fights, or even playfights with the younger smili. Extrovert Atare was turning into shy, introverted Atare. The closeness to her brothers had come at a cost.
----------------------------------
Before long, Atare's former friends had gone out of the tribe, either for searching for a mate or with one. Her brother had already come back with a mate. Atare was the only female Smili of her age left in the tribe. She had almost no friends, save for her brother and his mate. No male Smili was interested in her. Her markings did not stand out like they should have at her age. Now, Atare is just another Smili, no-one particularly special, and likely to be single forever. Her only real friends now are the birds.

WIP

Number: 4
Picture: Image
Name: Avera
( Uh-veer-uh )
((Hebrew for transgress ((transgress - act in disregard of laws, rules, contracts, or promises))

Species: Jungle Smili
Personality: Akari is a grumpy Smili, other Smili often call her 'macho',she denies this. She is very picky when it comes to food, but she eats what she has to, despite her distaste for whatever it is.Akari is often thought to be grumpy and mean around other Smili, she dislikes them and would rather spend her time being bitten by ants then around another Smili, for this reason she wishes to stay single forever.
Age:9 years
Build:Sleek and short furred, Akari is perfectly adapted to living in the jungle, she is short, about 70cm from ground to shoulder, her tail though, is very long and from nose to tail tip she’s about 5 m.
Overall:A slim and delicate girl, she’s more adapted to hunting small mammals, but she’s driven herself to killing birds instead.
Likes:
Big cats other than Smili:
Akari dislikes Smili, for various reasons, but she doesn’t mind other big cats, as long as they do not steal her prey.
Her tail:
Akari loves her tail, she isn’t a very large Smili, and likes to hang around using it.
Sleeping:
Akari has never been one of those cats who like adventure instead she’s always loved sleeping near waterfalls and streams, listening to the sound of water are a lullaby to her.
Watching the world go by:
Akari doesn’t like going on ruthless adventures, or searching the land for the perfect mate. In fact, she’d rather spend her time perched on a tree limb watching the world go by.
Bragging:
Akari loves bragging, but she doesn’t do it often, the jungle cats aren’t impressed by her, and she refuses any interaction with anotherother Smili.
Being alone:
Akari enjoys her solstice, she doesn’t mind having a chat –if it isn’t with a smili- but being alone makes her happy, she hates annoying creatures, and talking for a long time makes her tired.
Eating birds:
As revenge for ‘killing’ most of her family, Akari loves eating birds, but she prefers ‘mini deer’ –as she calls them-.

The jungle:
The only thing Akari has other than herself and her shattered dreams.

Dislikes:
Smili:
There are many other jungle Smili, but Akari refuses to talk to them, she will not allow herself to have a conversation with one.She tries to avoid them.
Cubs:
Akari reckons cubs are annoying , spoilt brats who don’t do anything by themselves and are so dumb they can’t tell a stick from a branch.
Domestic cats:
Akari has never seen a domestic cat before, but she despises them, being fed and given a warm home is good, Akari has never had anything as nice as that, she hates them, but only because she’s jealous.

Being teased or graded lower than other Smili:
Akari hates Smili, but if one one teases her, all hell will break loose.Akari takes being graded lower as a warning that the Smili do not like her, she then powders them with bittersweet fake-love until she’s regarded as a sweet kind Smili.
Being in a group:
Being a group doesn’t bother her too much, but Akari feels awfully sick when she’s around many Smili.
Birds:
Avenging her family. Akari has no other reason to hate them.
Being called 'macho':
Other cats often call her this, because she likes bragging and getting into sissy fights with other Smili.

Background:

Akari was born in a small pack, consisting of her,her mother ,father, her younger brother and sister. They were living off the grand amount of tropical birds. After a few years of good living, something occurred to Akari, the birds were diminishing in numbers, they'd been catching all the birds they could find, even when they weren't hungry.

Akari then became extremely hungry, after pledging she would only hunt when she was nearly dead from starvation. The birds population was not rising,it was dry season, she'd never paid attention to when the birds had their children, but it wasn't now, and it'd be a while before they grew up.

Akari decided it was over, she was going to die before she could happily hunt again. Her little brother and sister were growing weaker by the minute, and her parents were growing old.Akari was the only one in peak age, she'd have to either, move her family somewhere else, or continue killing until everybody was fat again.

She decided it would be better just to moderate how much they ate, then they'd be fine?A week later, Akari's little sister died of starvation, which enraged Akari, she'd spend all her day cursing at birds, for 'killing' her sister. Her brother also perished a month later. It left her, and her parents, alone in the jungle. Her parents were slow now, and decided they'd spend their last days 'resting' while Akari brought them food.
A year later, they also perished, which enraged Akari even more, she no longer wanted to be near a Smili, they'd just leave her when she loves them the most.
She now wonders around the jungle, sad and angered.

I would like to adopt!
Number: 1
Picture: soon...
Name: Ezriah
Species: Iziban Hound Gryphon
Personality: Happy, flitting girl. She's only silly when she isn't needed, otherwise she's focussed and on task. She's the lone huntress of the forest, but she has a few friends who will join her every now and then. She mainly associates with birds, not wolves or any other canine of the forest.
Likes: Birds, Hunting, The moon, water, flying.
Dislikes: Pig-headed males, blisteringly hot days, food shortages, coming into heat, running for long distances
Background: The gryphon shyly opened her newly formed eyes. She stood awkwardly and her wings unfolded in mach the same manner. Mucus dripped onto the dirt from her slimy feathers. She was, in all entirety, alone. She felt no fear, only confusion. She raised her head to try and howl for her family. The pup's lungs attempted a loud howl, but she couldn't manage it and just collapsed in a heap on the ground. She knew there was nothing safe about staying here, and so she stood and began to walk away, starting her life an orphan.

Fast as lightning the gryphon dashed through the forest. The young rabbit raced, trying to get back to his hole. The gryphon, however, was quick on his tail. Her wings outstretched and she took to the sky. The rabbit didn't notice his now airborne pursuer and continued to run for his life. The gryphon soared just high enough, that a swan dive would easily land her the rabbit. She nose dived and pulled up inches above the ground, catching a juicy rabbit morsel. To be humane, the gryphon decided it would be best to drop her prey from the sky. On impact, there would be death. No slitting the throat of the paniced rabbit. She flew quite high and released her flailing prey, then dove after it. She cought the black and white rabbit moments before it hit the ground.

She landed, dropped the rabbit and began laughing. Cyprus, her best friend glared at her.

"Thanks' for not killing me." He said somewhat annoyed. Ezriah merely smiled and licked him. Their game had ended and they could now return to the hole in the tree where they all stayed.

Ezriah, Cyprus, and all the songbirds lived in the hole in the large tree. It had been there since the beginning of the forest, and so had the hollow of the birds. As a pup Ez had found this hollow. It was high up to protect the birds, but the hollow reached to the roots, all the way up to the tip of the trunk. An old raven ruled there, and so he made sure that steps for young squirrels and other tree creatures were there. Ez used her weak wings to aid her in climbing the tree and she climbed the steps down into the deepest region of the tree.

Re: Tough as Nails Adoption (Get a high quality character!)

I would like to adopt!
Number: 1
Image
Name: Malakai
Species: Iziban Hound/Common Loon
Personality: Quiet He’s a quiet and timid boy. He doesn’t like to talk really. More of one to stick in the shadow and watch what’s going on or keep alone. The reasons for this is because he is a bit small than the Twelve and doesn’t get as much appreciation as the others, but is accepted and loved. He isn’t a total outcast.
Ambitious No matter how quiet in the shadows he is, he always wants to exceed and win to prove himself and show others that just because he is small, it doesn’t mean he isn’t strong or swift or good with magic, like the others.
Patient This is just something that comes natural to him. He’s always been a patient fella’ and always loved to help people out when they don’t know what they are doing.

Big-Temper It rarely ever shows, but when Malakai gets angry, he goes berserk. It comes from the fact that he really doesn’t like being angry. He really doesn’t. So he explodes and gets worse when something he really doesn’t like, ticks him off. All that steam that had piled up from not getting angry before doesn’t help either.
Accepting Malakai always accepts things, and he would never decline something unless he was using his common sense or it was something against him or somebody else. When he sees someone evil or someone who is constantly depressed or overly cheerful, he accepts things because he can see why they are overly cheerful or depressed. He can see why someone cuts themselves or hurts others. He doesn’t try to change it, because it’s not his job, and he accepts that. He doesn’t question religion either, because he knows why they believe in what they believe.
Respectful He’s never rude or disrespectful. He just simply doesn’t believe in being like that because showing you are rude is showing you don’t like someone the way they are because you think you are better than them.
Sympathetic He is a very sympathetic immortal, caring about others and putting himself in their positions and understanding what it’s like to be in their footsteps.
Likes: Brisk flights.
Warm evenings and cool afternoons.
Talking and listening to people.
Having his alone or one-on –one moments.
Peace.
Dislikes: Crowds.
Not being able to understand someone.
Complete darkness. (Not like night darkness, but COMPLETE darkness)
Being completely alone.
Background: You may or may not have heard of the Twelve, but they are the twelve immortals that the animal world worships. They protect them, reward them, and punish them, like most gods do. Their group is highly trusted throughout the animal kingdom and has been around for a while. They are quite a unique group who consist of hybrids and naturals and the most random species from around the world. Such as an arctic fox from the North Pole and an Iziban Hound from Egypt that is a hybrid with the golden eagle from North America. They are all different, but share the immortality they have in their golden blood and their hearts that never beat…
I opened my eyes to our cloudy and whimsical world. The others weren’t around as I could see, but I could faintly hear the loud voice of Alaythi, the Spotted Hyena, so I knew they were close by. I rolled over onto my stomach and picked myself up with my feet and a few flutters from my wings since I was a bit lazy this morning from a short night of sleep. I padded a couple of steps, but then my wings carried me the rest of the yawning way, then the thought of Alaythi’s voice being the fault of waking me up went through my mind, but I just shrugged it off from my mind as I flew off.
Just as I had thought, Alaythi was talking. She was talking with Zabe, the arctic fox, who was just staring at her. Now Zabe was even quieter than me. He would never say something unless he absolutely had to. Luckily for Alaythi, a voice of another didn’t really bug him, so he and Alay were perfect for each other. She felt she needed to be heard and Zabe was there to listen to her whenever she needed it.
“Alaythi, Zabe.” I nodded to both of them, getting a respectful nod back and a cheerful “Malakai!” from Alay. I smiled at her, “So how are you both?”
Zabe nodded, meaning that he basically he had a pretty normal day for himself, and Alay spoke a bit about her day and those in the animal world she loved to watch and keep tabs on, but I could see the fear in their eyes, which is an emotion those of the Twelve rarely ever carries with them. “What’s the matter? Why is there fear in your eyes?" I dragged those words slowly and made them sound as interested as I could make them sound, because I knew this was very important and urgent.
Zabe spoke up before Alaythi, a first. “The animals, they are rebelling against us.”
My eyes widened in shock, then as my natural instincts took over, my curious mind wandered to why the animals would do such a thing, the animals never asked for more, they were never like the humans, not greedy and always wanting more, but quickly, I learned the reason of this rebellion, was because of the humans.

The humans were invading into the animal’s space, building houses as they wished and tearing down rainforests for factories. The Twelve have looked into this before, but never had they seen the animals so enraged. So the animals needed nothing more, only the much they had before.

When the images of their worries and problems fled his mind and Alaythi and Zabe were there, sitting patiently, I said, “Humans. It’s the humans. They are taking the animal’s land.”

~

We sat in our equal circle. Why is it called the equal circle? Because no one in the Twelve is better than everyone else. We all sit the same distance apart and the ground is completely flat and smooth.
We sit in this special circle to talk about what is going on in the world, normally we have one every full moon, but as this is an emergency, the half moon was closer, so we sit here now underneath it.
We called the meeting in unison, as we have no leader among us, “We sit here tonight, under the moon and stars, equal and at peace. Here we sit where we will freely speak. Here we sit where we will freely listen.”
A small silence spread over us like misty fog, and when it lifted, the first to speak was Alaythi, no big surprise, but we all love her unconditionally in a brother-sister manner, so she’s not really annoying, just very… talkative.
“We must do something!” She urged the obvious, “We have no powers over the humans, and no powers over the earth!”
Tali(tall-ee), a maned wolf who was mixed with a hyena, nodded, “Since we have no powers over the humans, but we do over the animals, we need to send positive influence out to them and give them the force and energy to take charge and reclaim their land, sending the humans back to their square rocks and hard black lines they covered our world with.”
Boy was she a smart girl, she was the usual ones to come up with the plans, but it’s not like we hated it and were jealous. Her intellectual power was strong and her plans always had great potential. “Tali that’s perfect.” I breathed, taking the bits and pieces of flashes she saw of the possible future and the backing of her plan.
She nodded triumphantly. From the side he saw Dakarius look at him with a deadly glare, but he just shrugged it off. I knew Dakarius was jealous of Tali and Mine’s small relationship, but what was I to do? Completely ignore her for his advantage? I’m not about to let go of a beautiful canine who is smart and beautiful.
Anyways, off of that subject, “We need to put this plan into action as soon as possible,” He announced the obvious, “So why not start now?”

The story is just starting~

I would like to adopt!
Number: 12
Picture: Image
Name: Snippet
Species: Dragon
Personality: aggressive, driven, inexperienced, solitary
Likes: being on his own
Dislikes: the fact that he is literally never allowed alone
Background:
A dark musty smell filled Snippet's nose as he awaked in the night. He stretched his scrawny muscles and yawned. For the past four weeks, he had been held captive in a small cage, being poked and prodded at by strange men with gruff, cruel voices. But now, all the men were gone. They had many hours ago, and now the only sound that went through the room was the uneasy pacing of other odd creatures that surrounded him. The young dragon's ears strained as he heard a odd sound. It was the sound of breaking glass. Gunshots were exchanged close to the entrance of the room, and Snippet backed up agaist the back of the cage. The door slammed open and a peculiar creature ran in. It was all black with allorted glowing marks that made it look a little like a neon sign. It was quickly followed by two men in dark blue uniforms. When their eyes fell upon the cages, looks of disgust crossed their faces. Snippet was not surprised. This was the usual reaction to people seeing so many foriegn creatures living in such squallor. The glowing, doglike creature made its way over to his cage. Afraid of what might happen, he backed up until his back was pressing the bars and snarled. One of the men (his owner?) noticed the dog-thing's interest. Snippet struggled blindly when the gloved hand of the man reached into the cage and picked him up. Being rather young still, he fit easily into a smallish portable animal carrier. "Are ou sure this is the one Vegas?" The man asked, looking at the dog-thing which he later learned was a new spieces called a tracker dog. The tracker barked, as if confirming, then they abruptly left after calling for backup to take care of the rest of the animals. Months later, Snippet looked back on this fateful night while sleeping in the house of he and Vegas' owner, and suddenly realized how different it could have been. Instead of getting to learn the ways of stopping crime in the hot Nevada city, he could have suffered the fate of so many before who had been thrown into the life of fighting. Yes, though being under the watchful authority of Vegas and his owner could be utterly maddening at times, but it was a pretty good life.

"Open your blessed wings
And wrap them around all your things
Keep yourself in the company of kings
Cause it's their hands that bleed from the strings"
My first thought was, he lied in every word
That hoary cripple, with malicious eye
Askance to watch the working of his lie
On mine, and mouth scarce able to afford
Suppression of the glee that pursed and scored
Its edge at one more victim gained thereby.

_____________________________________________________________

I would love to adopt Delling Ildri!

_____________________________________________________________

[.Number.]

One

[.Name.]

Delling Ildri; meaning, "Fascinating, Fire and Peace" in Scandinavian. She may be called either name separately or both together.

[.Species.]

Delling is a gryphon of sorts; but, unlike gryphons, with their mixed blood of lion and eagle, she has Ibizan Hound genes combined with those of the Common Loon. No doubt, she is a most bizarre creature; and, she is absolutely captivating.

No one is sure, as of yet, whether gryphons, like mules, are born sterile. There seem to have been instances in history where all evidence, little though there is, points to the gryphon having reproductive abilities; but, there would be a most strange combination of traits in the offspring of two radically different varieties of gryphons. I can find one possibility in all the foggy confusion of this topic: Perhaps gryphons, with their part bird nature, seek out mates that are of the same type, such as Blue Jay to Blue Jay, Mallard to Mallard, etc.

There are four distinct calls of the Common Loon, but only two of which are actually used by Ildri:
.Yodel, the most common and haunting of the calls; it's a territorial call given by the males.
.Tremelo, five to ten repeating notes often given in flight, said to be called the laughing call of the loon.
.Wail, sounds somewhat like a wolf howling and is often heard echoing across the lake late during the day or at night.
.Hoot, this soft note is given to keep in contact with family members.
Being a mixture of Ibizan Hound and Common Loon, Delling Ildri takes the loon side of her genes in this case. She does not bark like a dog; instead, she calls like a bird. However, when emitting the wail, she comes as close as possible to sounding eerily canine. The wail is one of the two calls that Delling uses- the other is the tremelo. Not being male, she has no use for the yodel. In the same way, she does not use the hoot because she hasn't any family.

Ildri is mightily blessed by her parents genetics. This is shown by her having received amazing sight from both parents; flight and exceptional swimming and diving abilities from her loon father, Reijo; fleetness of foot and sense of smell from her sighthound mother, Taiva.

[.Personality.]

Prone to seclusivity, Delling Ildri is in the water before the rise of the glowing sun and after the rise of the radiant moon. During the in between hours of midday, she will bed down in her nest, a scratched bowl in the dirt filled with fallen feathers and fur, twigs, dried mud, and plant parts. If hunger pains her stomach she will go off in search of food, but otherwise Ildri will use the midday to rest and be at peace.

It is important to understand that this gryphon is not timid; rather, she is often shy and always reclusive; for, she finds the majority of the world to be too loud, selfish, and busy. In Delling's mind, time should be spent in quiet personal study of the world and of oneself, and friends, though not necessary, are deemed important when they exsist and should be given a good deal of time and be pursued to grow in relationship together. It is really quite difficult to immerse yourself into the inner workings of Ildri's heart, for there is so much more to her than meets the lazy eye. Most are too focused on themselves to really understand her, and so she continues to live her life as she has always know it to be: lonely, unimportant, and boring. She would never purposefully admit this, but she cannot rid herself of it.

Delling Ildri would love to be felt of vital importance to someone and to be part of some cause where her role would be irreplacable; but, she has no idea where to find what she doesn't yet know she needs. And so she follows her daily routine of hunting for fish before the break of day, going for a run or off to fly before midmorning. Afterwards, she will return to her nest to rest before going out hunting again. Life with such monotony doesn't suit her completely; especially when the schedule doesn't include anything of interest- only the necessities.

If you could follow Delling without being noticed, (which is nigh impossible) you would find that there is a very delicate gentleness about her. She is detail-oriented, as you might see as she carefully places each individual nesting material. Imagine you were sitting across from her: Ildri would sit with her dotted wings folded neatly, her plush tail wrapped in front of her stilt-like legs, her large ears tuned forward, and her deep red eyes showing a sincerity that isn't often seen. When she would speak it would be like a soft flowing melody with a the reserved strength of a stream before the melting snow, asking mainly questions concerning yourself, your thoughts, and ideas. If asked, Delling Ildri would talk briskly of herself, with no more or less words than necessary to explain herself.

[.Likes.]

.Family.
Though she loves Reijo, Delling misses her mother and brother. Her favorite memories are of playing puppy games, such as "hunt the feather" with Montego.
.Early mornings.
Delling loves everything about mornings: the stillness, the steady increase of bird song as the world awakes, and the soft hues of the sunrise to list a few.
.Being active.
Whether is be flying, a run, or a swim, as long as it rejuvinates and keeps Delling on her toes, she is happy.
.Rainbow trout.
A decadent treat. Delling finds these fish to be full of flavor and a challenge to catch, so each capture is worth the time and determination is takes to get one.
.Mist or fog.
This allows Delling to travel where she pleases without being followed and gives her an air of mystery which she so enjoys.
.Noises of the night.
Crickets chirping, owls calling, wind rustling, the soft scurrying of a mouse, and the quiet lapping of the lake against the shore put Delling at ease as she beds down for the night.

[.Dislikes.]

.Fire.

.Algae.

.Loneliness.

.Nosy animals.

.Living a boring life.

.Being out on the lake in a storm.

[.Background.]

In the quiet stillness of a late March morning drenched in heavy fog, two winged pups - one dark, one light - were born to their exotic Ibizan Hound mother, Taiva. Deep in darkness under a huge fallen oak tree, the mother licked her new puppies with a fondness made excessive by the instincts due to her canine ancestors. This was, by far, her proudest moment, but also the one she would keep as quiet as possible, not wanting any harm to come to her beloved family. Her young squirmed and stretched against her, warming themsevles with their mother's radiating heat and letting out soft whimpering calls. Taiva raised her chiseled head higher, her amber eyes reflecting her love as she looked down upon her son and daughter. She then breathed out a sigh of contentment which left a lingering smile upon her face. And with that she wrapped herself around the precious bundles and drift off to sleep.

The clear mirrorlike water had little to reflect with the deepseated mist hanging thickly in the air, but down below the surface life abounded with many a great fish and other water creatures. A not-so-common Loon created gentle ripples as he dived into the water, his sharp eyesight having caught the flick of a tail fin. Within a moment he resurfaced with his catch hanging out of his beak. The cool water acentuated his striking features. His deep red eyes glowed, showing the strength he had. He had a white striped collar and a generous sprinkling of white stars on his midnight black body. He was a large sleek bird and a proud one at that; he too had a family that was worth the world to him. But, he would keep his beak closed, except to let out a territorial yodel to warn off other males- to protect his family.

----------

As the glowing sun rose high in the watery blue sky, liquid sunlight fell through the boughs of vibrant green leaves bringing an aura of candescence around the rich rusty red of Taiva's smooth coat, accenting the pearly white that offset the darker tones. In the same way, her mate, Reijo, reflected a black and white contrast enunciated by the brilliance of light. The pair sat side by side blending together beautifully, compensating for each other in an unexpected way; Reijo's short grey legs were placed far back on his body, making it awkard for him to walk, while Taiva's long muscular limbs gave her a swiftfooted grace, pronouncing incredible breathtaking speeds. These exceptional differences meant nothing to the odd couple; their love was firm and was proved so by the two bumbling winged pups that tottered out to the shadowy den. The male, older then his sister by only three minutes, was a curious one who showed potential in the area of leadership. He had the vibrant chestnut and white coloring of his mother, a stark divergence from his sister who had taken after their father. Smaller than her brother, the petite female showed strength over speed despite her size. These were the prized children of Reijo and Taiva, a Common Loon and Ibizan Hound. Named Montego and Delling Ildri by the parent whos genes they inherited by way of appearence, were the crowning joy to the little family and this is their story.

As I will not be able to write all I would like to in the descriptive language I prefer, I shall give a short summary of Delling's story.

I think music is about our internal life.
It's part of the way people touch each other.
That's very precious to me. And astronomy is,
in a sense, the very opposite thing. Instead of
looking inwards, you are looking out, to things
beyond our grasp.
