Question: hmmm... let me think
Why is this species called the Kitsuneko Chimera, as in the second part of the name, what is the meaning behind it?
Well back in the early days when the first Kitsuneko Chimera came to be the species was just called Kitsuneko. Not long after though the creator was looking over deviant art and realized she wasnt the only one with the idea of putting a fox and cat together. But with farther research she was unable to find a single Kitsuneko that was part bakeneko/nekomata. And so she pounced on the chance to claim this idea but she had to label it differently. The name Chimera was actually inspired by Sebeon who lunamoth19 knew before ever coming to chicken smoothie. Talking to her and looking at Sebeon's fursona she was told that Sebeon's fursona was a chimera and that jodged her memory of Chimeras being a mixture of animals. And so she thought hey i mixed a kitsune and a bakeneko that makes it a chimera. And so she stuck on Chimera at the end to differentiate it and then began the species info...

Kitsuneko Chimera Name: Sonder, which means: n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.
Gender: Female
Question: How did you think of everything for these?(like information/design)
Well it all began with the first Kitsuneko Chimera, Tsuki. There was a bunch of inner looking for just what kind of animal the owner wanted and all that before she settled between a Kitsune and a cat. Farther research showed her a animal called the Bakeneko/Nekomata and seeing how similar that was tot he Kitsune she merged the two together. The design was that the owner didnt want the first Kitsuneko to have 9 tails or 3 because those are the most common numbers so she took the fact that a Nekomata can only have two tails and applied that. The hair and purple glow were fursona representation things while foxfire was the fact both Kitsunes and Bakenkos have ghost fire. The info mainly came from artists though, Tsuki's tails and hair didn't fit on linearts so her owner created a way for her to work by making a disguise form and eventually she just wanted to elaborate on the species

Question :: I know that it says that these are a cross between Japanese Kitsune and the Japanese Bakeneko, but my question is :: Where in the world could this species be found? Like where could it specifically potentially inhabit?
Actualy the first Kitsuneko Chimera comes from the United States. The species origin may be Japanese lore but there is no set geografical region where the Kitusneko Chimera rezides. Like humans Kitsunekos ocupy every part of the globe minus the sky and the deep seas. Any land mass though you may find a Kitsuneko on though the more food there is the more likely you are to run into one of these fellos. So say you are in the artic you maaaay run into a Kitsuneko Chimera that is part artic fox or snow leopard but due to the small amount of food your more likely to find Kitsuneko living in larger groups or nearer one another if you start moving into warmer hemisphears with a more abundent food sorce.
What you are all waiting for. The winner
Mc Shizzle: I always love explaining that question but there is just so much to it I could never explain all of it without writing a paper
TheGodessOfMischief: That isnt a question I am commonly asked and it was very much fun to explain
Sanara: Your question is one I have never heard. I may have said where the first Kitsuneko Chimera is located but no one did I say that they lived and so your question caused me to figure out something new about the species.
Our Winner is....Sanara for causing me to have to think up some new info for the Kitsuneko Chimera that will later be added into lifestyle.
