Hello there to everyone reading this form! I am SabjeBammie, but please call me Sab or Sabje if you want. I am an adult girl who lives in The Netherlands, a small country in Europe. I have a baby girl who makes me very proud. She really turned my life upside down, but luckily in a good way ^^
I love animals and have a big soft spot for cats and horses. I also love reading, writing, drawing and characters.

Kennel Number:
The kennel I am trying out for this time is kennel number 41.

Use:
I want to use this girl as a main character and use her is a story. This way I will really get to know her and develop her more and more every time I write. And with more chapters comes more art :) I will try to write a chapter once a week, but since I am busy with my baby girl it can also be once a month. Depends on the amount of time I have.
She will get her own page on my Weebly [link is in my signature] and might end up in my signature or as my avatar. I wanted to decorate my trade settings with characters too, but my settings are a mess... So I probably won't put any characters in there and just stick with CS pets in there.
In my story she will be a young adult girl who lives in a village near Frandir's castle. [Note: Frandir is a character I am applying for, currently in kennel 27.] I do not own this character (yet). She will become more important to the story slowly, and will hopefully add some unexpected twists to the story. She will be loved and used, she won't be forgotten or collect dust.

Any changes?
There are a few things I want to change about this character:
Breed: Her breed is currently a leopard, but I want to make her a cat. So nothing major there.
Name: Her name is Katrina, but will be changed into Manuela. I wrote this story I want to do before, so I want to stick to the original names I had in mind.
Design: I like the design, I instantly called her Manuela when I saw her. After a closer look I decided not to make any changes there.

Donor:
Manuela was donated to the SCAA by Luna-puppy

Designer:
Uncertain, but Luna-puppy mentioned she was given to her by Anouki, so I assume that is the one who originally designed her.

Hex codes:
#64523d
#cdb292
#498aa5
#a0c3d2
#e9dbca

Name:
At this moment this lovely girl is named Katrina, but I want to rename her Manuela. I wrote the story in which I am planning to use her before, so I want to keep the names I originally created. This way I can't use the wrong names...
I have no idea what it means or where it comes from. Since I already have things set for her I also don't want to find out. It might confuse the way I had her planned out, and I don't want to risk that. So, it is all blanc to me :)

Gender:
Look at this girl... She is obviously female :) Luna-puppy requested not to change her gender, and I didn't even consider it for a second! She is female and she will always be female.

Species and/or specific breed:
She is a feline. She used to be a leopard, but I want to change her specific breed into a common cat.

Sexality:
    Pansexual
    Attracted to both genders

Family:
Note that these characters are made up, I do not own these [yet]
Father: Jordan, Elf, died when she was 6 years old
Mother: Elona, mortal, died when she was 6 years old
    Siblinds: None
    Other family members: Unknown

Profession:
    Blacksmith.
I know it's strange for a girl, but she is very good at it. She enjoys doing it.
Her father was a blacksmith before her, but when he died she had to stay alive. She took over his work and made money that way to pay the rent and food.

Love status:
    Single

Unfortunately, characters cannot be taken back if there are existing forms for them. booklover789 has been working on a form for 98 for a while, so the only way to get them back at this point would be to apply for them to win them c:

Edit - her form is on the last page if you'd like to see!

Username: Sunlitsecrets
Kennel Number: 257
Use: I've been looking for a few characters I could really develop and write about, and draw often (as right now I only have one that I commonly draw), and when I saw this guy I fell in love! I adore everything about his design. If I get him I will write short stories about him and draw him and love him. <3

Name: Palmer
Name meaning: Palmer means pilgrim. I thought this was fitting seeing as he's been travelling for so long.
Nicknames? Nowadays he doesn't use it, but back when he still lived in the tribe his older brothers used to call him Pal.

Gender: male
Species and/or specific breed: canine, specifically a wolf
Age: 326 human years
Birthday: He's so old these days that he can hardly remember, but if he had to guess, May 5th.

Personality:
When you first meet Palmer, he seems like the happiest person in the whole world - making jokes, laughing at every little thing, bounding off towards every danger with little worry over his own safety (but every worry for everyone elses'). He can go on for hours about something as simple as the sunrise. However, he hardly stays in your life long enough for you to actually get to know him. A few hours, maybe a couple days at most, and he'll be off on 'the next adventure', as he calls it.
But if you happened to follow him around for long enough, or if you're a very perceptive person, you'd start to realize things. Tiny things. He might not get to sleep and instead go out to stare at the stars. His smile might fade a bit if he thought you weren't looking. And he might laugh a bit too much.
Of course, Palmer loves a good adventure, and he really does enjoy making up ridiculous jokes. But the fact is that he's always trying to convince the world (and himself) that everything's okay. And some days it is. He fills his days with wonderful experiences - he helps people, collects all kinds of trinkets, and tries to think up ways to make mundane tasks new and exciting (the human word for it is inventor, he believes). But all he really wants is a friend. With the fact that he has to keep moving and keep helping out, though, he's scared to find one. He's not sure they'd enjoy it when he hardly does himself half the time. And he hates to admit it, but they probably wouldn't live as long as him. He still has so many good deeds left, and he doesn't want to meet someone he sticks with for a few years only to have to say goodbye. Hence, he keeps moving on.
Though he's met some animals these recent years that carry around strange human devices (Ipods come to his mind. They play music on their little electronic screens. How the world has changed) he has not bothered to keep up with the times. Many of the strange new things occurring in the human world are of no consequence to him, and he worries that if he takes the time to learn about such things he'll forget other, more important things.
What things does he consider so important? Palmer loves nature. Adores it. He stays up every night to look for the moon, has memorized every constellation, and feels most alive when he's running through the forest, the wind in his fur. And he can't forget his spells. They've been useful more times than he can count. If only he could thank Astrophel. If only he could apologize. If only he could say that he understood how wrong he was now.
Phobias:
  • Apeirophobia- Fear of infinity. What if he never is able to help all thousand people and just lives forever? He wouldn't like that.
  • Thantophobia- Fear of death or dying. Ironically he's worried about this at the same time. After so long living, he's gotten used to the fact that he just keeps going when he shouldn't. So the idea of not being around anymore is frightening.

History/Background: Go back, one night 326 years ago, to the Tribe of Midnight Moons, a proud and loyal group. The night was clear and the moon shone high in the sky. Everyone was patient. Waiting. The silence ticked on for a thousand years and for a few minutes. For it was a very important night. The leaders of the tribe, Dragomir and Luna, were expecting their litter to be born.
After what could have been forever or no time at all, the tribe shaman, Astrophel, a wise old wolf, stepped out of the cave at which everyone had been anxiously glancing at. "Well?" someone finally asked, looking at the sad face of the old healer.
"Four pups were born." Astrophel announced at last. His tone, however, was not full of joy, as it usually was when new life entered the world. A long pause. "Only one survives. Luna has named him Palmer."

And so began the life of Palmer, on that one bittersweet night. Dragomir refused to tell his son that his siblings had died, and he grew up believing he was an only child. But only of his litter, because he had five older brothers. However great it was to have older brothers, they all had two or three years more experience than he did. There was no one else his age. No one to play with. So he ended up following his parents around. How he loved to peek out from under his father's feet and watch the hustle and bustle of the tribe, or sit and listen to his mother's stories. He so adored them both that he wanted to follow in their footsteps one day. He'd probably be a good leader.
...except for the fact that his eldest brother, Absalom, a strong and determined (if a little easily angered at times) wolf, was next in line, not Palmer. But Palmer figured that was fine. He ended up dismissing the idea as a silly childood fantasy. But it kept coming back.
He tried to ignore it, mainly by learning about everything he possibly could. He threw himself into his studies with an intense determination. Often he would stay up until well past midnight, and sleep in till noon. Life became a blur... until one day, he stumbled across Astrophel's den.

Palmer had never been in here, this dark and mysterious room. Who lived here? Following the smell of mint and burning wood, he made his way to the back of the cave, curiosity slowly overtaking his fear. He could just make out a... a pot? What was in it, though? The young wolf was about to stick his head inside when someone pulled him out.
Palmer found himself looking face to face with the tribe shaman. They'd never actually talked. He had no idea what this guy was like. Even though Astrophel lived in the tribe, Palmer had no idea who he was. But while he should have been thinking stranger danger! he instead said, "What's in the pot?"

Astrophel had laughed then, and soon Palmer started taking lessons from the elderly wolf. There were so many things to learn - all the kinds of herbs, how to make potions that could do all kinds of things, and even how to cast spells. He learned from an ancient spellbook, which Astrophel said had been around for thousands of years. Imagine - thousands of years of knowledge in one book, there for him to read. It was astounding, and lessons with Astrophel quickly became his favorite part of every week.
Slowly the years went by, until one day Dragomir decided he and Luna were ready to step down, to hand over the metaphorical keys to the tribe over to someone else. That someone else was Absalom.
Over the years Palmer hadn't really been able to shake the thought of maybe being leader one day. Now, he figured if he did something amazing, he'd at least be able to help Absalom out. The only problem was that he didn't know what amazing thing to do. But he knew how to fix that.

The spellbook was open to the page he needed. Everything was set. Palmer had stolen the book and all the supplies he'd need ahead of time, and now he was ready. Or he certainly hoped so. Throwing the recently brewed potion into the air, he said the words needed, and -
- a dragon was suddenly there, as if it always had been. At once it attacked the nearest cave. In the meantime, Palmer took his book of spells and went to hide somewhere safe, until he was ready to come out and vanquish it. Then he'd look like a hero!

But what happened next surprised him - and scared him, too. When the others in the tribe hurried out to defend themselves, the dragon wouldn't do what he mentally told it to. It didn't stop attacking everyone like he'd asked, it charged forward and breathed a plume of flame at the wolves.
No - this wasn't right, his tribe was in danger, he had to stop it -
Before he could, however, Astrophel's voice boomed: "STOP!" Just like that, the dragon shimmered, as if an illusion, then vanished. The shaman hurried to meet the frantic tribe. Palmer, on the other hand, wasn't sure he could do this. He turned and ran. He needed time to calm down. For the dragon incident to calm down. If anyone found out that the dragon had been his fault...

When Palmer thinks back on the day's events now, it is simultaneously clear as a mirror and foggy as fog. So many things happened. Finding out about Dragomir and Luna dying. Absalom becoming the next leader, Absalom finding out who had sent the dragon, Absalom banishing him from the tribe. Astrophel frowning, looking so disappointed. But the one thing he always knew he'd remember was that spell of the shaman's.
He figured Palmer needed to go and do some good while out in the world, so he cast a spell that ensured that his young apprentice would live until he had changed a thousand lives for the better. "A thousand?" Palmer remembered himself asking. "How am I ever supposed to find a thousand different people?"
By the time he'd gone, he realized he hadn't just tried to explain his side of the story. How it was all an accident. But it was too late already - too late to go back. Palmer spent the night thinking about how selfish he'd been, and how much more important family was supposed to be than power or honor.
Even though he knew what he'd done was wrong, he still didn't help anyone for a long, long time. He lived on his own for a while, travelling from place to place, until he remembered the thousand good deeds he had yet to do.
Perhaps it was time to start.

Accessories: (All the ones he currently has I'm keeping, even if they aren't mentioned) He usually carries a small bag slung over one shoulder, which holds all his belongings (various trinkets, herbs, and the spellbook. He tries so hard to forget about that last object. It usually stays buried at the bottom of everything he carries. He's memorized all the spells anyway). The most important of his items is a journal. It's very old, with pages worn brown by the sun and full of memories. Every time he helps someone, he writes what happened down in the journal, so he never forgets.
Another thing he does every time he does a good deed is to add a bead to the ones he's already wearing. Each one is a different color and has a different symbol carved into it, to further remind him of all the good he's done.

Username:Hi guys!, I'm Huuuuuuh. As you might be able to tell, I was really annoyed at my computer when I made my username  . Anyways, I'm a book lover and I have one parrot who I absolutely adore as annoying as she can be.

Kennel Number: 2!

Why I want him: When I clicked on this thread, I wasn't intending to try out for any characters. I was already trying to get one at another agency like this and it was proving to be a lot of hard work. I didn't want another load dumped on my shoulders. But when I saw this guy, I fell in love. I'm a bird owner so I instantly loved the bird aspect of him, but I also loved how everything fit. The porcupine fur and spikes didn't look bad with the bird-shaped body and beak; together it looked almost natural. But, of course, the biggest reason why I want him is that he's so dang adorable. Has anyone ever seen anything that cute?

Use: What I will use him for(?) Firstly, I'd like to write about him. I'm not that great at writing, but this guy provides a wealth of possibility's for all sorts different things and I'd absolutely love to have fun writing about him. Secondly, I recently discovered an online drawing site (My computer doesn't do oekaki). While my drawings look more like scribbles than anything, I do have fun making them and I'd love to make some with him (Maybe in his home or on another planet). I'll try and put him in my siggie, but I'm bad with technology so don't be surprised if you see my signature temporarily go crazy while I try to fix it (I never use the preview option, I don't know why.)

Name: Oliver. I don't know why, it just came into my head.

Nickname: Olly.

Gender: male

Age: 3 human years, which seems short, but isn't for a bird.

Species and/or specific breed: He's a porcupine-bird. It's sort of a species, but you can see history for more information.

Personality: This is going to be long, I'm going trait by trait. (You might need to grab some food first  )
[center]
Traits! wrote:always cheers you up, loyal, clown, attention-hog, picky, and adventurous

Always ready to cheer you up

Oliver will never let life beat him down -and he won't let life beat you down either. If you can crying to him with all your woes, he'll cuddle up with you and lightly peck your fingers. Also, when you say, "I'm sad", he'll reply back "I love you". I don't know who taught him to do that (Though he can't speak our language, he's an accomplished mimic), but hearing that from an adorable bird always makes you feel better.
Loyal

Oliver always sticks by you-literally. He'll follow you around all day until you're practically trying to get rid of him. Even when he doesn't like where you're going or is scared and wants to go back home, he'll still come with because if he judges it a bad place, then why would he leave you alone there?
Clown

As I've said before, Oliver is an accomplished mimic and can always make you laugh with his impressions of barking dogs, the whine of a motorboat, and a ringing telephone. Also, he loves to play mischievous tricks which sometimes involve stealing your food and sticking porcupine spines into your clothes.
Attention-Hog

Oliver loves attention. He'll do anything to keep your attention on him, including biting and occasionally spiking you with his spines. And if he feels that your attention is not properly riveted on him, well then you should prepare for some loud shrieking.
Picky

One of Oliver's biggest pet peeves has to do with the colors of the food he eats. Anything green is to be avoided at all costs while red foods are automatically good. This makes it slightly annoying to feed him as he absolutely refuses to eat it if the food doesn't follow his rules.
Adventurous

Olly is always willing to try new things and experiences. He thinks that even if it seems bad at first, it might turn out to be the best thing in your life. After all, that's how he found humans.

History/Background: go back a hundred years... It was 2134 and in a small lab in Denmark, the greatest advancement in genetic modification was happening. The first porcupine-bird was born. A few days later, three more were made. And then another five. But this species was never expected to grow and survive. No fully bio-engineered animal had successfully bred and many of them had unforeseen health problems. However, the porcupine-bird didn't only survive and breed, it spread quickly. Before long, the new species was moved to a remote island off New Zealand. They have remained there, peacefully, for many decades now.

Porcupine-bird behavior: Porcupine birds behave mainly like parrots, but with large spines and cannot fly. They forage for roots, nuts, fallen fruit, and occasionally a innocent insect in flocks of 7-20. When scared, the porcupine-bird will puff up and display it's spines. If an animal gets too close, the spines can easily stick to their flesh. They do not lay eggs.

Olly's personal history: Olly's childhood was rather blah. He spined a couple of innocent bats, hogged all the food, and annoyed just about any one in his flock. But that all changed when he met humans.
You see, though many people were eager to see and investigate the porcupine-bird,the island was notoriously hard to get into. It required a massive amount of paperwork and bureaucracy so that barely any one was allowed to come. However, one day a research team came to the island. Despite having never seen a human before in his rather short life, Oliver was instantly enchanted by them when they laughingly threw a french-fry at him. For days upon days, Oliver followed them around until he was practically a member and ate through most of their supply of red apples and french fries.
Eventually, the team had to return to the main land and Olly was crushed. He missed being the center of attention and having a steady supply of junk food. But, luckily, a research lab was cleared to be built on the north side of Island. That meant more humans! And, even better, more food! Now, Oliver is a regular about the lab. He can be seen following people about and occasionally going inside the building.

Username: I'm Huuuuuuh c:
Kennel Number: The character I'm trying out for is in kennel 315
Why I want her: I'll admit, Scarlet (the character) is not what I would usually go for. Cute and fluffy? Yes, but fanged hell dog? Not usually. However, what immediately drew my attention was lime-green star above her belly. If you didn't know, that star often is used as a symbol of Judaism. The Jewish star wasn't intentional -I checked, but I thought it was a cool coincidence. However, at first I decided not to try out for her. The reasons varied and there were a lot of them: too little time, too much to do, too many characters, and of course, she wasn't my type. But I couldn't stop thinking about her. Developing her personality and history during free time. Mentally envisioning her form. So, eventually, I just had to try out for her.
Uses: I will mostly use her for story-writing and art. She'd also get a spot in my character site.

Name: Her name is Scarlet. She has no nicknames and if you try to make one up for her...well, bad things would happen.
Gender: She is female.
Species and/or specific breed: She is a hell-dog. This doesn't mean that she is actually from hell, her species just got named that because of how they looked which is, according to Scarlet, "yet another example of human's constant tendency to stereotype things before they know what they're talking about".
Personality: Most people who knew- or thought they did- Scarlet would say she perfectly merits her species name, hell-dog. She's a rebel- and dresses like one. She always slips sarcasm into her words, especially when speaking to her elders. In class, Scarlet usually gets Cs and Ds. She can usually be found alone, listening to music.
However, though that is true, she's a lot more than that. She's a self-taught violist (She took lessons on the viola for around two months, but when they were canceled, she continued on her own) and loves listening to classical music. She has even started composing her own little pieces. Scarlet is fluent in Hebrew and is slowly teaching herself Russian. And, of course, one of her greatest passions is classic literature.
History/Background: As a child, Scarlet lived with her two parents in suburbs. By the time she was old enough to go to school, Scarlet was quite used to being judged. Every one thought she must be evil just because of the way she looked. She never had many friends and had no siblings. However, Scarlet survived. Rather than play outside like every one else, she'd read for hours on end. When she was nine, she threw herself into playing the viola and made rapid progress.
But, unfortunately, her parents divorced and Scarlet moved to a small apartment in New York with her mother. Now days, Scarlet mostly has the place to herself as her mother, who is lawyer, works a lot.
Favorite Book: Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. This story has always spoken to her and she's herself as similar to Anna, defying stereotypes and social norms.
Favorite Author: Likewise, her favorite author is Leo Tolstoy.
Favorite Quote: "Only the pure in heart can make a good soup." -Ludwig van Beethoven

Username: laredo
Kennel Number: 110
Use: I would use him as a character(of course!) and he would kinda be my go-to guy. Also, for tons of arting and trying to improve my skills, as well as stories and possibly some roleplays!

Name: Onyx
Gender: male
Species and/or specific breed: Equine - Reshino (my made up breed)

Personality:
As dark and scary as Onyx looks he wouldnt hurt anyone. Onyx's soul purpose is to rid souls of sadness, depression, anxiety, stress, and any cold dark feelings they may have. He takes these sad dark feelings and dreams and uses his antenna to plant them in the ground in a secret pasture, where they turn into twisted but beautiful trees. Onyx is a very caring gentle spirit with a heart of pure gold. He strives to keep others happy by removing the bad but he sometimes suffers for it. Carrying all the negative feelings of others can weigh him down as he sees and feels everything they felt until he plants the feelings. Even so, seeing others happy gives him great joy, so carrying the weight is a necessity. Also, because of his daunting, overpowering, and just straight frightening appearance, Onyx usually is a loner. And because he is always alone he is quite and shy around others, and usually keeps away and watches others be happy from a distance. but there was one time.... (you will have to see history to find out)

Appearance:
Onyx is 21.3 hands tall (so 7 feet 3 inches) at his shoulder. He weighs about 3,021 lbs, is very heavy built and well muscled. His neck is very powerful and thick like a bull's neck. His coat feels like soft leather like the inside of a cow hide. The golden stripes on his coat are velvety soft flesh to allow for cooling as Onyx cant sweat. His horn is ridged bone almost the texture of a deer's antler but much stronger. His "antenna", if you will, are cartlidge covered with the softest velvet you have ever felt.

History/Background/Short Story:
Onyx doesn't remember much about his past or foal hood. Actually, truth be told, he chooses to not remember most things. He keeps his distance from others so the don't dig and ask, and so he won't remember. So he doesn't have to feel the pain he can never plant. Or remember when he gave his heart to someone just for it to be ripped away with nothing he could do to change it. When he does sink into his memories, Onyx's mind always returns to that one day. The one day he was so happy and then it was stolen from him, in the same manner he takes the negative from others....

Onyx's mind wonders, and he remembers the gray filly, and that she was very kind to him and they played for a while before she was taken away in shame, due to his unnatural appearance. Alongside remembering the gray filly he loved, he remembers the dreadful day. He remembers That day thoroughly. He was out in the sun playing the day away with the gray filly. Her Gray coat shining in the sun and her dark mane and tail dancing about made Onyx so happy all he could do was stand and let her prance gracefully around him. He loved her whole-heartedly. She never had any sad thoughts or dreams. And she loved him for him, she was not repulsed by how he looked. She was happiest with him and Onyx fed from her sheer joy. Life was perfect when she was around. Until that day..

From Onxy's point of view
As she trotted around, her sire and herd came into the field and screamed at her to stop.
"He is a disgrace!" his voice boomed as he threw his head toward me. "You are not to be seen with him! You are My daughter, he is just a spirit! A non-existing piece of trash!" I felt the pain and sadness her father held but was no where near close enough to free him from it..

"Daddy!" she screamed in agony, the pain in her voice cut threw the sunshine and the day was no longer bright. Onyx's heart broke as the beautiful filly filled with sadness and despair. "I don't want to leave, I don't care the others think! And spirit or horse, it doesn't matter! I will fight to be with Onyx! He is sweet and gentle, and most of all dear to me!"

"Dear to you?! How can nothingness be dear to you, daughter? .. Her father scoffed. "Just take her away..
She screamed a blood-curdling scream as the herd surrounded her and took her away. The beautiful gray filly, now dulled with sorrow, vowed to find Onyx again, and with a last glance at him she was gone. Her father looked at him, with great sadness in his eyes, turned and followed after them.

Days past, and even the carrying the sadness of others was no weight compared to what Onyx now carried. His heart had been ripped out. There was a hole. No amount of happiness could fill the void that was created when the filly was taken because it was love that filled Onyx's heart. Not happiness. But Love.

Onyx then knew what he had to do. He had plant these feelings from inside him each time they arose. He had to find the filly and her father, and take all the sadness and dark thoughts from her father's past and plant them so he can once again be happy. And so then he can see and feel the happiness his daughter feels when Onyx is with her. Then, and only then, would her father truly except what Onyx is and how his daughter feels.

Onyx is sure that one day, the day will come when he finds that beautiful gray filly and her herd, and he will have to put his plan into action. All the pain of his past will catch up to him, but there will be happiness in the end. So he plans to face it head on.

Username: Sunlitsecrets
Kennel Number: 93
Use: As I said in my other form, I'm in search of some characters to love and write about and draw. I was only planning on applying for one, but then I saw this one. Her design is amazing, her abilities are incredible, and her droplet plushie is adorable! It would be great to be able to add her to my group of characters and I would certainly love her :)

Name: Weeja
Name meaning: I don't think it means anything, but it sounds wonderful!
Nicknames? none

Gender: female
Species and/or specific breed: saluki/windfairy mix, according to her reference sheet.
Age: 106
Birthday: December 12th

Personality: Having lived for so long in a cave on a cliff above the ocean, Weeja has gotten quite the reputation and is often the first person that comes to mind when people are wondering who to go for to get advice. She's gathered a lot of experience over her hundred-and-six years of life, and is always willing to help someone out with a problem, no matter when or why they come. She's had animals she didn't even know existed come to see her at noon or midnight or any time before or after. This doesn't bother her.
Weeja is a much better listener than a talker. Every day small talk can be very hard for her, because she doesn't always know what to say. But the friends she has love her anyway.
Yes, Weeja has friends! She may not have any as close as Scout (nor does she want to) but many of the inhabitants of the area near the ocean have come to know her over the years. Some of her favorite memories from recent times have been spent with her friends.
Although she enjoys the peace and quiet, sometimes she'll feel the need for something to happen. On those days, she'll hold beach parties, or astronomy nights to watch the stars. Almost everyone turns up for these things. However, she doesn't really notice how many people have heard of her and come to those events, and if she ever did she'd probably be quite shocked.
On many days, if there aren't a few clouds in the sky she just doesn't feel right. It took her a while to figure out that she could create storms, and if she had her way she'd make a permanent storm, but she knows everyone else wouldn't enjoy that. They're like Scout - give them the sun any day.
She sometimes feels quite sorry for herself and on those days might create just a small rain cloud. That always cheers her up. There's nothing quite like listening to the rain fall.
Weeja also has a collection. She couldn't tell you what of - whatever washes up on the shore she might gather. Seashells, feathers, glass bottles - all of them are potential collection items.
Finally, she can be very forgetful. There's been times where she's planned a sandcastle building contest for the beach's inhabitants and then totally spaced out and not done it after all, or times she's planned on going for a 'short walk' and ended up meandering around for three or four hours. Sometimes on those walks she thinks of moving one day, of making a storm and riding it across the ocean, but then she remembers why she chose to live where she does. She remembers the river that brought her so much joy as a child, and led her to meet and lose her best friend, and eventually brought her here.
And when she thinks of it that way, she decides that life may not be perfect, but it's quite good. And then she agrees that she's never going to leave.

History/Background: Time travel is a funny thing. Weeja once thought history meant the past. Now she realizes her mistake. Past, future - she's had experience with both, though she's long since stopped traveling. Back then life was all about rushing around and having fun. Now, she's retired in a way. Her home, atop the cliffs by the sea, is peaceful. And quiet. Different, but exactly what she enjoys these days.

Back a century or so, it had all been so much different. She'd ask a hundred questions about a thousand different things every day. "Why is the sky blue? Why not purple or neon green with polka dots?" she'd ask her mother as they wandered down to the stream. "How come I have wings and so many other people don't?" she'd question her father, trotting after him as he prepared to go out and hunt.
The home she lived in was kind and welcoming, if a bit small. Weeja and her parents dwelled in a hollow tree in a forest. Perhaps the humans had a name for that forest, but then she's never known all that much about the world of humans. Nearby the tree was a small stream, a brook that flowed merrily along. She visited it every day, to look for fish or colorful rocks or to play or just because. Most often she just invented excuses to go. The water felt like home. It felt like the best place in the entire universe, but she didn't know how or why. It was a feeling impossible to explain.

One of those days, Weeja came to the stream to find it was almost not there at all. Only a tiny bit of water was flowing slowly downstream. What had happened? While she sat there, staring at the dry riverbed and feeling very gloomy, there was a loud crashing sound on the other side and a rustling in the bushes. She was about ready to flee, to run back to her parents back at the hollow tree and hide until whatever danger had just appeared had gone away again, when a voice called - "Please, wait just a moment!" Out of the bushes came a very familiar dog. She was holding very tightly to a strange, device that had more buttons than Weeja thought she could count. Said device was emitting sparks, and looked very dangerous. The only reason she didn't run then and there was because she knew that fur, she knew those eyes and that voice!
Standing before her, rather shaken but definitely real, was herself! The other her was taller, and older, but it was definitely her. "What -" Weeja was about to ask, but she was stopped by her older self.
"It's okay." A faint smile was on her face, reassuring and genuine. "I'm real. I can promise you that. I time traveled to get here, to tell you something very important." Time travel? "I need you to do something." The future Weeja's smile fell. "It's not going to be easy. It's going to be the opposite of easy. But if you want to save the river, you have to do it."
Weeja of the present was a bit skeptical, and more confused than anything, as anyone would be if their future self came along. But the river... the place she loved most... it was in danger. "What am I supposed to do?"

Head up the river. Head up the river. Head up the river. That had been Weeja's internal encouragement for the past three days. However she was beginning to feel more and more tired, and worried. Were her parents okay? Were they even still there? Would the river ever be back to normal again? As she was padding sadly along, thinking about all this, there was that same loud noise from before and a moment later a orange-furred cat stumbled in. He was carrying the same strange device that the older her had been.
"Hello? Are you here about the river, too?" the cat said. "Cause that's why I came. Heard about the river. Wanted to help out. I'm Scout, by the way, who are you?"

As it turned out, the two soon because great friends. While Weeja felt most at peace when near water, Scout admitted that he was the exact opposite. Give him the warm sun any day. He had just been worried about the forest as a whole - without any water, it surely wouldn't last for long.
On their way upriver, they passed by several human towns. They rarely stopped in any of them, except for one shop, late at night, when the day's hunting had yielded no results. It was there that Weeja found her droplet plushie, and immediately loved it. When they left to carry on walking, she took it with her.
A whole month went on like this (the stream was a very long one, farther than she had even thought rivers went) until at last they reached the beginning. The beginning of the river.
In this place, where the river began, humans were everywhere. Hustling and bustling around, doing strange things. There was only one human building here, but it was big. And impressive. And everyone seemed to be working on something important inside.

So Weeja and Scout snuck in that night to find out what the humans were doing that had made the water go away. Eventually they came across a well-guarded room. Inside, on its own so that it stood out, was a small pendant. It looked of hardly any matter to Scout, but as soon as Weeja saw it she knew that this was what had stopped the water from coming. It had fallen into the wrong hands.
"I can distract the humans if you go inside and take it," Scout offered, and though Weeja didn't want to put her friend in danger, she agreed there was probably no other way to go about it. So Scout handed over his strange time travel device and charged into the room, meowing loudly. He jumped for the pendant, missed, then ran off. Quite a few humans followed, leaving the room mostly empty. It was easy to run in, take the pendant, and use that device to teleport away.

The river was flowing again the next day, but she never saw Scout again. Something must have happened to him, but it took her a whole year of living by the huge building to realize that there was no point in sticking around any longer.
She wanted nothing to do with time travel - not anymore. Her parents had said that downstream was the ocean. Perhaps she'd go there. But before she went, there was one very important thing to do.

With a crash, Weeja arrived to that day a year ago, when the river had run dry and everything had began. That device of Scout's was sparking left and right. She seriously hoped she didn't accidentally start a fire. The dog took a deep breath and stepped out from the bushes to talk to her younger self.
