He Who Shall Not Be Named|
The wind caused by the side to side motion of the large dragon Sodora stood upon tugged playfully at the lady Faerre's pastel fur. Her crystal blue eyes shyly met the mirroring pairs of each person she and Lasirie, her large draconic companion, passed.
“Lasirie”
The pint sized faerre lightly chided.
“Can you walk just a little slower, or easier? I’m afraid I’ll fall off, if we keep this up much longer.”
As if on cue the small faerre’s legs gave out on her right side, throwing her sideways against the hard bone like horns that crowned Lasiries’s emerald beastel head. Forcing the small creature’s breath out with an audible, woosh!
Cheeks turning red under her silky fur, Sodora stood shook herself a few times as if to shake off the embarrassment she felt, and slowly reclaimed her spot on the crest of her emerald companions head. Looking down, her fur fluffed up as she noticed a single white eye, about as large as her head looking up at her. Its white, almost pupil less depths boiled with concern. It took Sodora a few seconds to realize just who the eye belonged to. With a sniff she threw her nose into the air indignantly, and to hide the new bought of embarrassment tingeing her cheeks she mater of factly stated;
“I’m all right, just watch yourself next time”
The rush of her feeling that her statement seemed to hash, caused her cheeks to turn an even deeper shade of russet. Slowly she lowered her head ashamed over her comment, and voice faint, barely above a whisper, she added a quick,
"Please"
and scuffed her paw against the dragons head.Eyes closed, Sodora could almost feel Lasirie roll her eyes as she snorted. Then with a lurch she once again began to move forward, a slight smile played across Sodora's face as she noted the noticeable ease and steadiness of the dragons new pace.

Sodora's breath caught in her throat as she peered at the opening that lead into the Alter. The opening was large, it could easily permit many of the odd creatures that had flooded into Vinara in recent months. Sodoar let her blue eyes wander up its length, and trace every rune, every mural that depicted the history of her race, It could not permit one as large as Lasirie. she felt the dragons face fall, her shoulders hunching and wings drooping with it. Sodora felt a twindge in her own heart for the Dragon, Lasirie had wanted so much to see the inside of the alter, to woo a Faerre for her own. Once more she allowed her eyes to rack over the images depicted on the surface of the Alter, But Lasirie's body was large, and her scales were sharp. The delicate wood work would never stand up to the dragon. They both knew it all to well.
Both creatures heads rose slightly as suddenly bugles blared what only could be the entrance of a new Faerre. Lasirie stamped her hooved foot hard unto the ground and snorted, clearly demanding those around her to clear out, before she slowly lowered her head to peer through the door of the alter. Sodora could see a dashing orange figure high above the others arrayed within the alter. As her blue eyes traced over his small yet well muscled frame, covered in creamy dreamsickle and orange fur, she felt a slight unusual twinge with in her gut.
"Hi all!"
As his liquid smooth voice floated its way across the alter, Sodora found her eyes closing as she unconsciously leaned in, drinking up the sound.
"It's such a nice view up here! I'm-"
Her eyes opened slightly at his abrupt stop, even from this distance, she could see the tell tale mischievous glint that now tinged his eyes. As if some one had flipped a switch his voice became akin to sing song as light heartedly he chanted.
"Why don't you try to figure it out?" The Faerre giggled.
"My name consists of two words!
The first is something you can't live without,
Without it, roosters won't crow,
flowers won't bloom,
there won't be rain,
and the sand won't feel hot.
The second,
can be received and given,
and it has different meanings with different people,
it's the proof during the bonding of two,
and it's something you can always give.
Can you? Can you? Guess my name?"
the silence that ensued after the last echos from the creamy Faerre upon the alter was defining. Even out side of the confines of the Alter Sodora could feel the all to tangible excitement, and confusion as each suitor attempted to solve his riddle. And it took Sodora a few seconds, to realize she too has slowly been pondering over his words as well.
With a light sigh Sodora slid herself up into a sitting position,
His name is Either Sunlove, or Sungift.
Was Lasirie's Nonchalant remark.
If you do not over think it, It is easy enough to see.
The dragon lashed her tail, and slowly took a few steps back before slowly lowering her head to the ground.
Now, go.
Sodora's eyes widened slightly,
W-what?
Her stammered reply got a light chuckle out of the much larger creature,
Little one, I may be old , but i am far from slow. The slight tightening of your claws on my scales, the fevered thumping of your heart as the young male over there spoke. Its easy enough to see you have some interest in him.
the dragon shook her head slightly, causing Sodora to slide off her head. The Faerre landed on all fours and turned slightly to look p at the dragon as once again she raised her head. It was true, she found the Male Faerre on the stage a bit, dashing, and maybe she wanted to talk to him. But the glint in Lasirie's eyes spoke of something much deeper. and truth be told, Sodora did not know if she was ready for such a thing. Slowly her eyes began to water, how has she been blessed with such compassionate companions? Who had cast her fate so well? Slowly Sodora shook her head, and mustered a single word,
"Thank you"
And with that, she turned and scampered off into the Alter.

The now familiar musky scents of the Alter, assaulted Sodora's sensitive nose. She flicked her tail lavishing in the enticement just being within the vaulted room brought to her. Slowly she stalked her way through the crowd. It was amazing how much the taller, and larger patrons of the Alter missed. As she walked, her eyes beheld everything from a tight net of Faerre commoner's their heads bowed low over something in the center of their group, to a large collection of small catlike things. A light chuckle escaped her, as she continued on.
Her path lead her up the stair way of the alter and unto the stage. She paused for a few moments, her eyes blinded momentarily by the lights, Had the Alter always been to bright? She puzzled over the thought as her vision cleared. She blushed lightly as she noticed that a few of the never suitors eyes had wandered towards her. She could see in their eyes the glassy sheen of hopeful wondering, would she choose them? could she choose them. Sodora lashed her tail slightly, knowing that they, like so many others would be disappointed. She was not here for wooing. Slowly she turned her gaze towards the Area that the unknown male Faerre waited. Imagining all the wile, that she could feel his gaze on the back of her neck.
A dreamy smile spread across her face as she once again glimpsed the creamy orange Faerre.
"Why hello there,"
She purred, swinging her hips ever so slightly as she walked towards the male.
"I am known as Sodora. Who, may you be."
Slowly she stat, curing her long tail daintily around her paws.
"Ahh, that is right, you want us to guess."
She smiled once more.
" The first is something you can't live without,
Without it, roosters won't crow,
flowers won't bloom,
there won't be rain,
and the sand won't feel hot."
She qouted his words almost exactly, and stedily began her disection of his riddle.
" The first half of your riddle is easy enough, with in the first line, you state 'something you can not live without.' This would entitle Air, water, Breath, the sun, A heart, or life. Your nest phrase ' Without it, roosters won't crow' This entails, Breath, life, a heart, or the sun. for a rooster shall not crow with out each of these. 'flowers won't bloom' narrows down the selection quite a bit, for flowers do not have a true 'heart, and yet nor to they have breath. This leaves life or the sun. skipping over one line, you give no other option with your ending stanza, " and the sand won't feel hot' Does life make the sand feel hot? No I think not. The only other option is The Sun. So if we shall go with the flow of your riddle, the first part of your name is 'Sun'.
Sodora paused to take a breath, be fore jumping once again into the examination of The male's riddle.

"You stumped me for quite some time here, my dear. you tell us the second part of your name can be revived or given, so it entails some kind of gift. not only this but it does have different meanings to different people, and is the proof of the bonding of two. and It is something one can always give. You have come to make me believe your name Is ether Sunlove, or Sungift. Both seem like fitting names for you. "
she shifted from side to side a bit nervously,
Alas, Alas
If you are of gifts,
or love, I am unsure
'Tis true.
But in thine shimmering pelt,
and blazing eyes,
the suns full glory,
is with in thine heart alike,
so few.
in a single motion she elegantly swept her tail up and stood, with a few step forward she began to circle The male Faerre.
You seem so noble, yet, you also have a free spirit. I can only guess, but i believe you want to be free. away from all ties, do you want to live life to its fullest?
She paused for a few seconds to gauge his reaction, not seeing any change she slowly began to circle him once more.
"What if I said I could offer you a place, were all your dreams can come true. were you could live in paradise With M-."
She broke off mid sentence, face falling she lightly whispered.
"Me"
Before continuing on.
There is a catch, The world we live in now. Vinara, the mortal realm, it is just one of nine. I am offering you a place with my family, in the Realm of the Gods, It is a place were only immortals live, and only they can call it home. You two can become a part of this world, and all others, you can join the ranks of all those immortals who have superseded me, who have superseded us.
Sodora let out a breath she had not know she was holding,
And yet there is a catch, To become an immortal, you must leave the mortal realm for one century. one hundred years, in exchange for all eternity.
Leaving that wavering note in the air, she traversed the distance between them and lightly brushed her tail along the larger males back,
You, dear sir, have yet to tel me your name. And It is not right to keep a lady waiting, so If you would consider, I would love to name you myself.
She took a few steps back and looked the sunny male, up and down.
Aki,
she paused
You strike me as a Aki.
A sly smile plaid across Sodora's face,
Well, If you would consider me, i mean It! I meant it!
she stammered, her cheeks once again truing a telltale embarrassed shade of pink. With one last shy smile at the male she scampered away once more. Before she had descended the stairway hot stinging tears began to well up in her eyes.
Stupid girl, she thought, your first time meeting a male of the same species and you ruin it all!
with a light sniff she found her way to a shadowed area, curing up into a tight protective ball, she willed her light pastel fur to blend into the shadows. Hoping to hide her shame at the fool she had just made of her self.
