Name:
Aiano Sunrise
Species:
Beryll wolf
Personality:
Aiano is a very conflicted young Beryll wolf. He can be very indecisive when it comes to where his loyalties lay, and struggles with the idea of being a "puppet of the gods." He undersdtands his role and his place in the world; yet does not wish to accept them. Aiano doesn't trust others easily, and is naturally judgemental. He strives to understand the world around him in a more "scientific" way than those of his species who choose to credit everything to their gods. He does not connect with the idea of gods and an afterlife; which causes many to be wary of him. Aiano wants to find the purpose in his life; and believes that the only way to find it is to create it himself.
Likes:
Above all else; Aiano loves Paisus; a young female from the opposing pack. Like him, she chooses to look beyond the ideals of gods. He enjoys talking to her and discussing different aspects of life with her; for Paisus if the only cretire alive that Aiano actually looks up to and admires. Though he doesn't try often; Aiano occaisionally atempts to speak with others of his pack about the idea of believeing beyond the gods that they are tied to. He treasures the rare moments when he feels like he is actually able to get through to them.
Dislikes:
Aiano dislikes the gods of his pack. In the time of war, pain, and violence in which he lives; he believes that one can only find peace by searching their own soul, not through praying to gods. He looks down upon those that grovel and worship the prophets of his pack; for he thinks of them only as fools. To Aiano, the only way to have something done efficiently and correctly is to have it done yourself, not by hoping that the gods you pray to will pity you and help. To Aiano, there are no gods. Only spirits that think very highly of themselves.
Background:
Once in the realm of time and space; there was a sun god. In the same realm, there dwelt a moon god. In a place that is equally far away and unknown, there were two mystical features. One of the features was a cave. In this cave, there were crystals that at the right time every morning, lit up in order to cause the sunrise. There was also a dark waterfall hidden deep in an even darker forest. The water of this waterfall was black; and it is said that every evening at the right time; the water would leap from the rocks and paint the sky black, thus causing the sunset. As I'm sure you can imagine, the two gods did not share the same views. The god of the sun wanted the planet to be bathed in glorious light for eternity; and often tried to stop the waterfall from flowing. The moon god wanted the planet to be shrouded in darkness forvever; and tried many times to crush the cave. Both gods knew that they needed someone or something to guard the source of their great power. The sun god created Beryll wolves; a lovely specieds formed from the same jewels that caused the sunrise. The moon god created Sayficus wolves; dark creatures that were formed from the dark flowing water of the river. The gods used these creatures as pans in the great game of chess that they played; not caring how many died from battles. Their only demands were that these wolves defended and fought for the sacred places, and believed entirely in their god.
Aiano Sunrise was born to two strong Beryll wolves who both were extremely dedicated to their cause. Like the others of their species, they believed wholeheartedly in the sun god; and never once doubted the true meaning of their life. Aiano grew up with the same beliefs as everyone else; it wasn't untill he was a year old that he began to doubt the gods. This was brought on by a number of factors; his father dying at the dark waterfall in battle, listening to the words of an old Beryll wolf that the others thought was insane, and meeting Paisus, a young member of the Sayficus species. Though Paisus was older than him; he was attracted to her immeadiately. She had dark blue eyes that glowed like the sky at dusk; and her fur was a pitch black color. She also had two tails; which represented the split waters of the waterfall. His first meeting with her was when he had been defeated in a battle and was lying on the ground helpless. When Paisus approached him; he had figured that his end was near. Instead of killing him, she sat beside him, introduced herself; and began to speak of her rebellious beiefs.
After their meeting; Aiano was enlightened. He began to think more about the worlf around him, and began to have conversations with Dakifu; the old Beryll wolf that the others figured was insane because he refused to enter the cave of jewles. He also often spoke of the gods manipulating them; and warned that the sun god didn't really care about their individual lives, contrary to what they believed. Aiano quickly became friends with Dakifu; and spent much of his time contemplating the meaing of life with the older Beryll wolf. By the time Dakifu died, Aiano had learned his most important lesson ever. He was only a pawn, and puppet of the gods. From that moment on, he swore to pursue a way to escape from the bindings that he was entangled in.
Aiano began to meet with Paisus in secret; and cherished the time they spent together. Through her; Aiano was able to see the world in a very different way. When he was with her he felt like he belonged, something that he didn't feel very often. They both grew closer to each other as time went on; and Aiano soon realized that he loved her. He loved her gorgeous blue eyes; her lithe, sleek build; and her lovely smile. Most of all, he loved her ideals and beliefs, and knew that no matter what evils he had to face; she wold be there beside him. Together; they could stand up to those who wished only to served the gods; and more importantly, the gods themselves. Side by side; they could find a way to destroy the two beings who were the kings of the chess-board on which the wolves dwelled. If Aiano couldn't believe in this; then he truely had nothing left to live for.
The Cave of Jelwels
Aiano strode forward through the cave enterance; Paisus a step behind him. He smiled softly when he heard her excited breathing; this would be the first time that she would visit the sacred cave. The dark tunnel eventually widened into a giant cavern with jewels encrusted on all of the walls, and a hole in the cave's roof where the light poured from. He motioned for her to stay silent in the dark cavern; for he didn't want the others to be alerted of their presence. She sat down beside him, her dark fur gently brushing against his own. Aiano shivered at the contact; it wan't often that she allowed him to be so close to her. Aiano cast his gaze to the hole in the roof; where the stars had already faded and the dark water ws being washed from the sky. Any minute now... Suddenly the gems erupted in light of all the colors; their glow being cast out into the world. A small gasp came from Paisus, the sight was absolutely breathtaking. Her black fur shone silver in the bright light, just as the jewels on Aiano began to glow. Paisus laughed, a look of wonder etched on her face. For that one moment, she was no longer a Sayficus wolf. She was simply Aiano's love and his friend. Therefore; for that one moment, Aiano was truely happy.

Thank you for the extra slot and for reading this, Atwood. I've been debating with myself all week if I should use my slot for him. As obvious, I decided that it would definently be worth it. I have book plans for this guy; I'm absolutely in love with him and the story idea that I created for him. <3
