Spider's Gender:
Male

Spider's Personality:
Spider comes out as The Duty Fulfiller
Spider is a quiet and reserved individual, who is interested in security and peaceful living. He has a strongly-felt internal sense of duty, which lends him a serious air and motivation to follow through on tasks. Organized and methodical in his approach, he can generally succeed at any task he undertakes.
Spider is very loyal, faithful and dependable. He places a great importance on honesty and integrity. He takes things very seriously, though can also have a sense of humour and can be a lot of fun.
Because Spider is dependable on following through on things he has promised, he sometimes gets too much work on him. He has a really hard time saying “No” when he is given more work than he can reasonably handle, resulting in him working long hours.
He will work for long periods of time and put tremendous amounts of energy into doing any task which he can see as important to fulfilling a goal. However, Spider will resist putting energy into things which don't make sense, or for which he can't see a practical application. Spider prefers to work alone, but work well in teams when the situation demands it. He like to be accountable for His actions, and enjoys being in positions of authority.
In general, Spider has a tremendous amount of potential. Capable, logical, reasonable, and effective with a deeply driven desire to promote security and peaceful living, he has what it takes to be highly effective at achieving his chosen goals - whatever they may be.

Story:

I was in the school library studying for an upcoming test. Something about World war one and its history. I had finished the first part and was about to start the second part when a teacher came around and asked
“You can go home now. Why are you still here?”
“My parents don’t get home until later, and I left my key at home… So I have to wait and I have nothing else to do” I replied embarrassed because I would forget my head if it wasn’t screwed on properly. She laughed and shook her head before replying
“Well you have half an hour before I have to lock up here”
“Yes, Ms Jones. I might head over to Kayla’s house and pick up our science project”
“Good girl. Get home safely!” she said as she smiled and headed back to the massive pile of paperwork. I gathered my gear and noticed a small black book under my jumper. That’s strange…that wasn’t there when I came in I scooped it up and looked for a library code, but there wasn’t one. I grabbed my gear and slung my bag over my shoulder and headed back towards where Ms Jones was.

“Ms Jones? I found this book… I was wondering if it was yours or… I don’t know?”
Ms Jones smiled and looked at the book “Not one I know of, it looks like a diary but there is nothing written in it”
“It might be Brittney’s book, I must have picked it up when I rushed out of Maths” I tried to remember if it was Brits book or not, she was one to have a book like this but I usually had her name in the front covers page “I’ll return it to her tomorrow” I said as Ms Jones gave me back the book and returned to her work.

I checked my watch 5:13 not another hour until my father would be home. I kept walking to the small park near my house and sat down on a park bench and took out the small book. I opened it to see a small pendant sitting in the book “That wasn’t there before, even Ms Jones said there wasn’t anything it the book” I mumbled as I picked it up and held it in the palm of my hand. It was a strange pendant, wrapped in an intricate silver design which was connected to a small leather tie; I held the pendent in my hand watching the red colour against the pallor of my skin. I flipped the first few pages that had strange designs written everywhere, I thought I was Chinese but it was very different with swirls and strange lines, way different to Chinese. I turned the page to see a strange sketch of something that faintly looked like a canine. The strangest thing was that it had eight legs and two tails and on a closer inspection had… pincers like actual pincers!

Curiosity took control and I sat there reading and observing the different drawings. I must have been there for a while because it was now dark and the park lights were glowing. I had read to at least half way in the book when my hand got really hot and my skin started to sizzle “Oww!” I yelled as I dropped the pendant on the ground and looked at my hand. It now bared a red design of a spiralling sun with the same design as on the creature in the middle of it. Something moved in the tree “Who’s there? Okay now I’m officially freaked out” I said as I quickly shoved the book and picked up the pendant and put it in my pocket and quickly walked back towards my house.

I was being watched… I felt its gaze before I saw its eyes. Big, glowing red eyes staring at me, I froze. It started to walk towards me. The streetlights turning out before it reached them. I stared at it slowly creeping up towards me, those red eyes staring at me as though it could see right through me. I noticed a small light glowing near my hand; I looked down to see the scars glowing the same red as the creature making its way towards me. I freaked and ran.
I ran down several streets to get to the national park where I knew tonight they were holding a movie marathon in the old park theatre. If I remembered correctly they were going to play ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ which gave me no comfort. I had seen the movie before, it was about a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality. Just thinking about it gave me chills. I stopped to take in my surroundings. In the distance I heard its feet pounding against the concrete pavement. I walked quickly to where the theatre was but stopped when I saw a large sign say Closed. Do Not Enter. I was trying to figure out what to do but I didn’t know. My only option was to run somewhere with people but this is the only place where a large amount of people would go tonight. Brits. Brit will be home and her house is close to here I thought and with one glance behind me to see if that thing was coming, I bolted.
I got to Brittney’s street ten minutes later. My feet hitting the ground and the low howls of the creature following me were the only noise in the deserted street. I ran past the letter boxes 154 156 158 finally I reached 160. Brit’s house looked as though it was abandoned. I instantly hated her mom for buying this house. He parents had believed they could transform it into something lovely but gave up after the first week of just cleaning out the cob-webbed infested rooms.

I slowly made my way up the cold stone steps; I shivered, as though ice had replaced my bones. The cold air had enveloped my entire body. The moonlight was casting a ghoulish glow on the house. Vines had formed a twisted maze upon the side of the house, reaching their tentacles towards the roof shingles, some of which hang loosely causing them to look like black icicles. The house’s walls showed black decay by neglect. Splotches of the original paint hinted at the former houses prosperity. The small fish pond was covered in a sickly green slime. Cobwebs covered every inch of the door, tiny black spiders threading towards their prey. The house was fit for the Kings and queens of the dead. The windows were open and softly banging against the walls with a Thump…Thump…Thump

The floor boards creaked at my weight, slightly moving. I held onto the hand rail but didn’t realize they were covered in a brown crusty dust. The door was left ajar, swinging gentle in the breeze. There was a purple stick on note pined to the door in Brits writing that was neat and of course...Purple.
Going to the Roth. Be back later, dinner is in the green container.
xoxo B

Okay Brits not here her mum would be. She would be trying to attempt to finish that room. Yeah that’s were to go I thought as pushed the door open enough to fit through. I stood amazed at what I saw. The stairs we suspended half way in the air as though someone has sawed straight across them and just left the rest hanging dangerously, broken glass scattered everywhere and the floor was covered in dust. I slowly walked around the glass and into a small room which was much nicer than the one I was just in. It wasn’t as dust and had 3 medium sized cots aligned against the walls, small boxes of clothes and gear was stacked against the door. I realized this must be where they slept.
I heard the door open with a creek, and a red glow came through the room. My hand started to glow and pulse as well, I shoved it in my pocket and followed into another room which was where Mrs Fall would be painting, I could smell the paint and a strange copper smell. When I opened the door only a candle lit the room but even then I wasn’t prepared for what I would see next.
My hand flew to my mouth to stifle a scream. Mrs Fall was suspended in a silky white spider webs. Her eyes bludging out, mouth agape but worst of all her throat had been slit. Her pale pallor showed that she had been drained of her blood and left to rot here. I had realised I was walking towards her until I was close enough to her to smell the rotting flesh and coppery scent of blood. I heard a click and whirled around to see it. Red eyes, chest pulsing in time with my own glowing hand, mouth slightly open and panting small puffs of fog in the cold air. It stood there watching me waiting not making a move. The only sign it was alive was the sound of its breath.
Tears threatening to break through my eyes I did what I could I charge and jumped over it. Running for the door, it chasing behind me eight legs pounding the floor it was faster than me and reached me before I could reach the door. Its jaws gripped the back of my calf muscle and I fell to the ground hitting my head on something hard before blacking out. Images of red designs and spiders flashed through my mind until the cold black abyss took me under its wing.

To be continued…

Tracker Dog Application
Username: Ekio
Tracker Dog you want: #77
Name you'll give it:
Baeron
Image

Reason why you want it:

Strikes a nerve to my core, "he's" just simply stunning. I feel as though I've seen "him" before out of the corners of my eyes. Following, pacing, controling the darkness. Never stand in the shadows because "he's" there.

Will it be used in any kind of story?
He'll enjoy his own story line as well as flit in and out of any horror my mind might come up with.
*
Describe its personality:
Intesity burning brightly. Control is mine.
Insanity is my mistress, I can weild your fear against you and turn your brightest hope into terror.

Thought you saw something dear? Now it's gone, and frighten you it must because the air is deliciously full of your sweet smelling fear. I could follow you anywhere, yours is a fear sweet like cream. I think I'll whip my tongue around your ankle and send you running never having seen a thing. There in an instant gone in a flash I believe I've heard....

Dawn sends me to my own world, the world of souls and dreams where I can paruse the nightmares for energy. Every sip of fear a bundle of tastes. Your nightmares are my playground, your dark corners my favorite seat. I live to haunt you. Dream hopper, long thing, Daemon, Satan, so many names but I am Baeron.
*
Write an introduction for your Tracker:
Every one has a fear, some enjoy it, but many hide it away or carry it on their sleeves as they do their heart. No one is fearless and that's what keeps "him" alive. Baeron is not classified because no one exactly knows what "he" is, but they know they don't like "him." Everyone sees "him differently as he exudes fear which makes them see their worst. "He" has a psychic element about "him" where the gas "he" produces from the end of "his" tounge "which looks like fog" causes a feuge fear state in humans. Very dangerous because of this yet "he's" never actually harmed anyone with "his" physical body. Not that it's completely physical itself. "He" phases in and out which is why "he" can pass through walls.

Daytime is "his" night, though the dream state world "he" fades too is that of those asleep on the other side of the world. "He" rests very rarely and for short periods of time where nearly all the world is in transition. "He" burns through energy quickly because of his body phasing. "He" needs the fear to live.

The world is full of playthings as far as "he's" concerned. No one can escape him entirely, "his" enjoyment of their fear can only be called sadistic. "He" has been driven so far as to allow harm to come to the prey he chases due to his insanity but has not frightened anyone to death as of yet. Not to say that at some point "he" won't, just that he seems to enjoy the cat and mouse portion of the games "he" plays more than an actual death. In dreams "he" has allowed his prey to perish, but I don't think that "he's" yet realized the amount of energy "he" could gain in a fear based death in real life which is good because that would drive "him" over the edge. There is just enough real Tracker in "him" that "he" cannot seem to physically cause excruciating pain (not to say "he" won't toy with someone with "his" tongue to send them into a panic.)

***
I feel there's more I want to add, but don't want to miss this entirely, so I'm posting now with the hope of editing again in just a bit.

Name you'll give it:

Does not claim a name, but is often referred to by the team as Uklet.
[oo-CLAY]
[Croatian, "Haunted"]

NOTE:
Wiki wrote:*Some groups and individuals have used non-standard pronouns, hoping they will become standard. Various proposals for such changes have been around since at least the 19th century.
Ze (or zie or sie) and zir[25]|| Ze [He]// zir/zem [him]// Zir/Zes [his]// zirs/zes [Pos. his]// Ze likes zirself

[This is the setup of pronouns I would have usually taken, but for comprehension purposes I used the traditional standard masculine pronouns. There's a lot of text here; it's hard to read with these pronouns, unless you're really used to them - something that not everyone is.
I would have used “it”, but I find it extremely disrespectful. We don’t call neutered or spayed dogs “it”, we call them “he” or “she”, even though they’re sterile.
]

Physical Statistics/Other

Height: 30" to the shoulder - About the same size as the Pyrenean mastiff, a common type of guard dog.
Weight: Not measured since his time at the base. He weighed about 200 pounds then, again a similar statistic to the Pyrenean.
Currently weighs less due to lifestyle.
Tail Concerns: If it were any other animal, his tail would be docked to prevent it from breaking due to wagging [causing him to become aggressive]. However, because he is able to become intangible, it is deemed unnecessary, as he can simply phase his tail through objects.
Size Concerns/Notes: He is large enough to let the smallest investigator ride him, though he is not strong enough to take the weight for long. He is built for stealth and speed, not power, and is therefore not an attack animal. His top speed reached thus far is 22 mph, during an emergency in which one of his investigating team was in danger. This is fast for a canine his size, though not quite as fast as a greyhound, which can run up to 39 mph.
Handler(s): Base team consisted of three members: his working companion, his training supervisor, and a vet.
Current team is, unofficially, a band of 3-6 paranormal investigators. The number varies on location; sometimes, half of the group searches a different, nearby haunting.

Reason why you want it:
First off, I am very much into spirits. I've had my own experiences with the paranormal, and I absolutely love ghostly characters. I feel a connection to them because of my passion, and always make a point to make space whenever I find one available for adoption. This has recently created an entire storyline about spirits, which is developing each and every day. This Tracker, if I receive it, would be the first canine for this story, and the first semi-malevolent spiritesque-type encountered by the two lead investigators.

I would also love to own Uklet because of the inspiration I get so inspired by him. He speaks to me, whispering ideas into my ear and pulling on my muse's attention. Similar to my spirit cat that I own, he would present a challenge that I am ready and willing to take. Already, he has started haunting my sketchbook as I doodle out ideas for this form - no other character has caught me this deeply, to have me start drawing them before I even own them... it's truly a unique situation for me.

I had thought about having him join the plotline that involves my other two Trackers, Ogosto and Seeker, but he wouldn't fit. He is far too unique to be in that plotline, and I feel that he would be much more comfortable in my newest one, which involves a team of paranormal investigators and their two ghost hunting cats. Dogs are commonly used in real-life investigations, because they are far more sensitive that we humans are, and have a nature that we can understand and interpret. I feel that Trackers would be similar; they are the pinnacle of working-class canine, after all, and would be created for the purpose of protecting their human counterparts. This need to protect, I feel, would be something necessary for a team.

I also love his mischievous nature; I share this in common with him. I, too, love sneaking up on people and scaring them, though I'm now obliged to wear keys and things that jingle as I walk so that I can't do this anymore; the people I care about just got too tired of me appearing out of nowhere. However, he would not get such a restriction; No bells, no keys, nor jangling dogtags will be placed upon him. He will only wear a simple leather harness or collar every now and again, and only because they are there to protect him from the crueler spirits, and to carry emergency items so that he can prevent a paranormal disaster.

I, myself, have been held down and hurt by spirits. To have a protective creature such as Uklet would have been a huge relief, especially when I woke up in my bed with a large kitchen knife lying under me. Uklet, if he was real and "on my side", would have protected me from that particular spirit, I should think. He would have woken me, or prevented the knife from finding its way in my bed.

Will it be used in any kind of story?
Absolutely - he will join the spirit-seeking group's story as a slight cross between antagonist and protagonist (or, rather, an antagonizing protagonist, as he likes to torment the other protagonists). He will also join my characters in my art.

The Team wrote:The paranormal investigation team that Uklet follows is large for a typical paranormal team, and it's still moderately amateur, though they still know what they are doing during investigations.

The human members don't often let themselves go by names, preferring to keep themselves professional as well as preventing spirits from latching onto them. However, the animals of the team, Spirit Seeker and his ghostly friend Solace (Soulless), don't really abide by this rule. They chose names after they learned the human language, and never really altered their ways.

The group studies spirits close-up, though they respect any and all that they come in contact with. Unfortunately, this also means that the negative spirits are allowed to attempt to take advantage of the team, harming or possessing them at times where they are left without the protective charms. This is the main part of Uklet's function - he is one of those protective measures that guard against these possessions and harmful physical manifestations.

As a result of this, the team treats Uklet with the utmost respect, believing him to be a hybrid of tracker and spirit - granted, they do not have the equipment to verify this. They do not try to restrain him, letting him roam as he wishes until he gives them a sign that he would rather be theirs - for example, not letting the lead investigator remove his harness or collar. If and when this happens, they would treat him as they do the other two animal team members - as family.

Members:
The Lead: The leader of the group. Male; unsure of himself until he is proven correct.
S.I.C.: The Second-In-Command. Female, medium; Quiet, rarely speaks, but is always sure of her words.
Tech One: One member of the Tech part of the team. Female; Slightly braver than Tech Two, and is willing to yell at spirits if need be.
Tech Two: The other member of the Tech part of the team. More religious than the other three humans, and is petrified of spirits after experiencing one too many negative encounters.
Spirit Seeker: Feline accompaniment. Male; Curious and braver than the humans. Anchor to Solace.
Solace/Soulless: Ghostly feline accompaniment. Shy, highly intelligent; speaks many languages, but can only speak through the Spirit Box (similar to Uklet). Holds a darker influence inside of him, named "Soulless". Attached to Spirit Seeker.

Describe its personality:

Silent. Uklet 'speaks' on a frequency not picked up by man, anthro or animal alike. As a result, he is considered completely and utterly mute, unless the paranormal scientists that he follows [but is not 'owned by'] use their investigation equipment to communicate with him - not that he has much of anything to say that they could understand.
Haunting. Uklet has the tendency to follow those that he is curious about. As a result, he has this haunting quality about him. Those that try to escape him have to understand this part of him - it is impossible to escape one that can walk through walls, after all. They must divert his attention, or lose it altogether.
Frustrated. Uklet wants someone to understand him, though he cannot find anyone that can truly hear him, let alone comprehend. This has caused him a lot of frustration, of course - this, in turn, has sparked a slight temper, which flares whenever he is degraded into "some dumb [mute] thing*".
Longing. Uklet longs for respect and companionship, which he seems to find the most while he follows the paranormal investigators - though, even they aren't entirely satisfactory.
Mischievous. Uklet loves to sneak up on members of his team during nights that they aren't investigating. He also loves playing with the three cat members, though he does try to be gentle with them.
Thankful. He is thankful that he has found people that understand him. He doesn't want to let them down, and they seem to take care of him - he tries to return the favor by protecting and being helpful, even if that just means helping everyone unwind.
Caring. Uklet cares about the people that he has attached himself to. He genuinely wants to protect them once he gets used to their group dynamics. He especially cares about the vulnerable spirit cat Solace (Soulless), not only because he exists in the plane where the spirits have complete control, but because he actually understands his plight - he, too, has a hard time communicating with the others because it takes a lot of energy for spirits to make audible sounds.

Eskkkkkkkkkst.
[Escape.]
The tracker currently known as Uklet was meant for some task, not too long ago for memory, but long enough that everyone involved in the project is now dead or has conveniently forgotten. Well, all except for the tracker himself, of course.

The task was a top-secret daytime covert operations one, in which only those that needed to know were told, and only at the very last minute. but he was there. He knew his job. And he resented it. On his first mission, a freak accident occurred and the handler that would have brought him back to base was killed in the massive resulting explosion at Uklet himself barely escaped... and, seeing as he was his transportation, he could not return to base - not a tragedy, really.

It wasn't long before he realized that there was a problem - at base, his handlers used equipment to give his orders and act like they heard and understood him. Without that equipment... there was nobody that could even hear him, let alone understand.

And so begun the loneliness.

Image
[Uklet on an abandoned ship in the harbor]
Hhhhhhhu- hhhhelsssshkt.
[Help.]
Lost, he stumbled upon the wreckage of a town abandoned by its old inhabitants. Humans would have called it a ghost town; he had no choice but to call it home. He was trained in the basics of how to hunt back in the base, but soon found himself having to refine these tactics. Eventually, though, this mode of survival needed something... more. The tracker was lonely.

He tried to alleviate this need to communicate. However, trees, statues, buildings and skeleton hulls of ships floating in sickly colored water were not the best conversationalists, even as irradiated as they were. He began seeing things... hallucinations that would understand him. It was not the best of solutions... but it helped stave off the insanity that isolation brings.

Then the curious folk came from all over. Intrigued by the legends of the "Eyeless Ghost Dog" and the history of the abandoned city itself, they came with equipment that allowed them to film or hear the dead. One particular group, in fact, brought a mysterious box... one that he considered almost magical.

It could hear him.

Image
Ff-fffffffffffollhhhhhhssssssshhhhhht.
[Follow.]
This box, called a Spirit Box*, scanned the frequencies most commonly used by spirits... and the tracker himself. He found himself barking and yipping at the box and the group actually reacting to the noise as it came out, clear against the constant whir of the white noise.

He had found an outlet. A source of socialization. It would not be a wasted chance.

He shadowed the group as they investigated the city in the dark, his soft glow startling them as they looked for spirits. One member of the group, a wild-haired cat with a slight snark in his tone, named him Uklet, after one of the famous people that had once been known to live in the area. Nobody really knew the meaning of the word, but they decided to pick it up. The now-'named' Uklet didn't quite claim his new name, though he appreciated the meaning behind it - a name made him almost equal. He existed to these beings.

He would follow them, then.

Image
G-gooooooooooooooooosshhhhhhhhkt.
[Good? Ghost?]
Uklet followed the group even when they left the abandoned city. In return for tolerating his presence, he began protecting them from truly malevolent spirits. Animals, after all, are far more sensitive to the spirit plane than humans, and the creatures that had assumed an almost human-like status. He could sense when a dark, demonic force moved to strangle one member of the team when they were sent to check out a room by themselves - his reaction was to stand and 'stare' intently at the would-be victim, his teeth bared in a ferocious snarl. He backed the investigator into the hallway and out of the danger zone, raising his hackles and flaring his glow to emphasize those glaringly blank eyelike markings.

He proved himself a valuable ally during investigations, though he still has not been properly 'claimed' by any member of the team. He is currently fed and taken care of by everyone in the group, though this is merely to try and encourage him to stay around. The Lead Investigator often supplies him with a collar or harness covered in protective charms and devices meant to discourage demonic spirits from possessing or harming him, and allows him to carry emergency supplies to someone in need, though these are always taken off after the investigation, for fear that he would feel trapped and start hurting the team.

Outside of investigations, he has become close to one member of the team, in particular - the spirit cat Solace. The pair seem to understand the other's plight, one being a mute-to-human-ears spirit-like Tracker, and the other being a not-quite-dead ghost feline. They often sleep curled up next to each other, sometimes even lying through walls or furniture to startle the others, as per his nature.

----

*This is a real-life contraption. It does exactly as I wrote.

Story Excerpt:

1. [Uklet saves The Lead]
Uklet's ears pricked up at the sound of distant clattering in the huge, decaying mental institution. There was an evil here that was not worth encountering, though the team would try to do so anyway. It had swallowed countless of the criminally insane as they wasted away in here, screaming and muttering, or perhaps staring and twitching as they were tied up and kept restrained or isolated in this proverbial hell on earth. The Lead Investigator walked toward the sound, his sweaty hands grasping the small, seemingly magical box as the camera in his hand emitted a steady, low hum that only Uklet himself could hear.

"Uke, stay close, please.... This place is just... full of bad things. I can sense it."

Full of bad things? No, no. Uklet barked - not that The Lead himself would hear it until he played his voice recorder back - and followed, his soft glow illuminating the floor in front of them. This place wasn't full... all of the evil contained in this place was one being... and then there was the countless echoing cries of the insane as their spirits were tortured for all eternity. It gave him the creeps... he was completely on edge.

He suddenly stopped, feeling the air thicken rapidly. He pointed his horns forward, the skull marking flaring in danger. The collar he wore... it wouldn't stop this. It wouldn't protect him this time.

This investigation, according to him, was over, no matter how little they had done so far. He stepped in front of The Lead, his head and tail lowered as he walked sideways, gently pushing him not-Master out.

"What are you doing...? We haven't even begun...!"

"GET OUT."

The spirit box in his hand flared to life, turning itself on and emitting the ferocious growl from the Other Side, clear as day despite the constant ring of static that the device always gave off. Panicked, Uklet took The Lead's shirt and dragged him out, feeling the danger directly behind him, and closing in. The pair made it out of the ex-institution just in time; as soon as they got out, the door slammed shut and a thick haze of smoke appeared around the door.

The building... was on fire. Except it wasn't burning. Soot wasn't released into the air for Uklet to smell; instead, the thick, burning odor of smoke and heat scorched its way into his nasal sensors.

"You... You saved my life, buddy.... I... I could have d-died...." The Lead's hand found its way to Uklet's head, the rough, dirty fingers stroking his thick, matted fur.

After the fire department had been called, and the 'fire' went out, the team looked at what little evidence it had. The demon that had chased The Lead and Uklet out appeared as two burning pits of toxic green orbs on the camera, with twin shadows reaching out with pointed fingers. EVPs threatening death and things far worse were mixed in with screams of terror on the voice recorder - The Lead's voice was barely understandable with all of the noise.

"We have to go back. We have to go in there and clean that place out. But we can't... we can't do that."

Uklet let his head hang as he nibbled on his personal chuck of meat that they called 'dinner'. He wouldn't let them. They couldn't go back.

Not if he had any say in it.

2. [Uklet starts following the group]
"Something is following us." Tech One's voice was soft, her blue-green eyes scanning the dark warily. There were spirits of the type that they had never encountered in this wilderness, and all six of them - human and feline alike - were wary. Spirit Seeker's hair was on end, his tail bushed out in alertness. He, too, was afraid and alert. The stories of a mysterious feral guardian ghost dog echoed through their brains as they searched.... It was out there, they knew. It had to be.

A crash from where they had set up their camp. They started running toward it, Solace and Spirit leading the way. The cameras strapped to the cats' backs would catch evidence, and their collars, inscribed with Christian, Wiccan, Judeo, Islamic, and a hundred other religious symbols for protection, would ensure their safety... to an extent.

Unfortunately, what they found was one of the things that they could not defend against.

A glowing being stood in their camp, its long, gaunt face buried in Tech Two's bedding, sniffing around. Its ears were pointed in their direction, but it was brave enough to not quite care - yet. Suddenly, it jumped toward them, its mouth opened and its long tongue hanging out. As it did so, the spirit box in The Lead's hand sounded a loud, startled bark. Then the being sprung back and went - through the wall?

The group stood there for a moment, their chests heaving as they tried to understand.

"It... it just... didn't it?"

A low growl from the spirit box, and the crunch of leaves behind them... the dog was back, his head lowered and the skull-like marking with those haunting blank eye-spots staring at them - or staring through them.

"What is...?!" Tech One never finished his question before the animal jumped toward them, kicking up dirt as it landed. It was huge that close up - without strain, it lifted its head to snuff the spirit box, then gently took one of the corners in its mouth and tugged.

"N-no... this is mine...."

The animal's tail tucked down as it gave one more gentle tug before letting go. The box let out a soft whimper, then it moved back, running off toward the old power plant that had made this city evacuate.

"Sh-u-d I foll-foll-o?" Spirit's voice still formed English words with some difficulty, though he was getting better. He was in position to run, his chest low to the ground and his back legs set to spring.

"No. He'll be back. Let him go." S.I.C.'s rarely-heard voice was soft. Her dark brown eyes stared at the top of the plant, contemplating. "He likes us. And he doesn't like to be called 'it'... though he doesn't... belong to the other genders...." She trailed off, her brow furrowing. The medium of the group, she was usually relied upon for things like identifying characteristics and motive. But to see her confused worried her partners - she was always sure of herself, and didn't speak otherwise.

"Uklet." Everyone turned to the spirit box again, then their ghostly feline companion. Solace's voice was just out of their range of hearing, hovering just inside the typical range for a spirit.

"Strong name. Historical. So shall it be, unless he has a different one."

[size=87]Congratulations, 3B!

Note for everyone; try to not mention the number of any of the trackers that you are not applying for in your form. It makes it harder for me to judge a tracker when there are other forms that have got nothing to do with it, just keep that in mind. c;
Also, there won't be another series until Spider is over. c:[/small]

Are you judging # 77 right now, LCD?
*hopes not*

EDIT: Congrats -3B-! Wait, do you search for "77" when you're judging forms?

whose woods these are I think I know
his house is in the village though
he will not see me stopping here
to watch his woods fill up with snow

the woods are lovely, dark and deep
but I have promises to keep
and miles to go before I sleep

I... I think I just died.

Either that, or I'm dreaming so hard....

Thank you so much, LCD! <333
