No clue what they are, but the name is amazing. I want to see all the misspellings. |D

Are they really related that closely to Tollers? I know a few Tollers, and Kooikerhondjes never reminded me of them. x3 (I LOVE saying their name out loud. *says it a few times to nobody in particular*) Tollers always struck me as smaller, more attractive (and smarter than the ones I've known) liver-base Goldens.

The name is Dutch, from the words 'kooi' (a form of duck trap) and 'hondje' (dog), because the dogs were used to drive ducks into the traps. Kooikers and Tollers wouldn't be closely related, but the kooiker may have played a part in its development. The kooiker is a toller breed, which is a very rare hunting method, so it's possible the NS Duck-toller developed in part from kooikers that were brought to the Maritimes and crossed with other breeds like Goldens, setters and/or spaniels, and that's where the Tollers got their tolling trait. :3

They have the best dog smiles I've seen XD
Mine always smiles when he's really satisfied, or have done something he knows is wrong but really doesn't care X3
