Pet's ID Tag: #114
Name You'd Choose for It: Lily (keep the same)
Gender: Female
Reason You Want It: I really love this cat; I don't need a fursona (being truthful), but she just really stood out to me as I looked through the thread. I saw her personality in her face and liked her immediately. She would get a nice home on my character thread, and I would order/make art for her.
History/Background/Other:
Some time ago, in a big city....
On a warm, spring evening, Lily was born, along with three other siblings. Their mother gave birth behind a shabby, smelly dumpster, while the father stood guard against dogs and devious city children. Lily's first impression of life was one of soft fur and kind purrs.
She quickly grew into a beautiful kitten, though she was always a little on the skinny side. The kits never went hungry, but food was very meager for the feline family, and oftentimes Lily's mother would go without food just so she could feed her kits.
One fall night, Lily's mother went out for a hunt and never returned. Whether she was killed or taken in by a human being, her children never knew. By that time in their lives, their father had resumed his prowling of the streets, visiting the children only rarely.
So at barely six months, Lily and her siblings were on their own.
They adapted to the best of their abilities, scavenging for food in dumpsters, rejoincing over the uncommon catch of a mouse. But life was tough for the four kittens. Unable to defend themselves against vicious dogs and neighborhood vagabonds, the kittens took to hiding days and hunting nights. More and more, they felt tired and grew thinner.
Then one cold winter night, a dramatic event changed the kittens lives forever.
They had recently moved into an old, abandoned house, as the snow and cold made living outside dangerous and deadly. Lily and her siblings had curled up in the attic, sharing their heat. Unbeknownst to them, a homeless man was living in the downstairs and was sleeping near a fire he had started in the fire place. But due to years of leaves clogging the old, warped fireplace, something went wrong with the flue, and the house caught on fire.
The homeless man managed to wake up and get out on the streets before the inferno consumed the house, but the cats weren't so lucky. Petrified by the raging flames that quickly devoured the old, rotting wood, the cats could do nothing more than retreat into a corner, hoping someone would find them.
A brave fireman, one of many responding to the blaze, rushed into the house to check for any occupants. The kittens terrified mewlings reached his ears over the intense crackling of flames, and he found them, hiding. That fireman saved every one of the kittens, who escaped with nothing more than ashy fur and little coughs.
The fireman quickly fell in love with the little cats and decided to take them home. He took them home, fed them, and loved them. Eventually, they overcame their fear and became plump and happy.
The fireman knew that, with his job, he could never afford to keep so many cats, so he decided to adopt them to loving homes. Lily is still looking for her perfect home.
And I hope to give that to her.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
Thanks for your time!
