Reason You Want It: I collect monsters(: And this warm-coloured beauty was just too perfect to pass up . These are just my absolute favourite colours, and incorporated into such a strikingly gorgeous creature . Also, I see this design as female, and I'd love to have the opportunity to toy with the idea of a female monster, seeing as almost everyone else has seen this monster as male . I would do buckets and buckets of art for Siren, I believe I would even find her a mate, and I'd definitely write about her . I'll never let her fade into the background of my other characters-- with such a breathtaking design, how could I ? If someone else deserves her more, then so be it; I've just got to try♥

Siren.

Not like the wailing of a warning device. Not an offensive term. Not a salamander.

Siren, as in the Greek mythology. A siren is a nymph, half creature and half woman. The myths say that they would sing to sailors out at sea, enticing them closer, to the jagged rocks that would destroy their ships and send them to their death. And that's my name, that's what I'm named for.

I'd like to think my affect on men isn't quite as extreme as this. Though I'm sure some beg to differ.

I'm a Belgian Shepherd, or so I'm told. I seriously doubt it; I've never heard of a shepherd with horns. I'm convinced I'm a monster, a creature, created in this form to behave like a siren. Certainly I don't choose to be such an abomination, but the fact is, that's what I am. And there's an old saying, if you've got it, flaunt it.

So that's what I do.

There have been times where I look behind me to see a trail of about eight or nine men drooling over the sight of me, tongues hanging down to the ground. They stumble clumsily in my wake, trying in love-drunk desperation to catch up. But they never do, I'm too nimble. As well as that, these men are usually just dirty pigs-- occasionally I mean that in a literal sense.

I spend my days slinking through alleyways, and making occasional appearances among the city streets; I don't need money, because I can talk my way into anything-- well, sing my way, rather. I'm an astounding singer, as I'm told-- just like a siren. And singing is one of my favourite things, really it is, I sing whenever I can, whether there's music or not. I just enjoy singing. People follow me when I sing, crowds gather. But sometimes they get too close, they sneak up behind me... so I defend myself. It can't be my fault if my claws just happen to hit the wrong spot...

But all of this gets rather old. Everyone is unconditionally in love with me, under my trance, everyone wants to be around me. Some people would wallow in this sort of attention, bask in it, absorb it, take advantage of it as much as possible. When I really think about it, though... Just once, I'd like to see someone who isn't impressed by my looks, someone who sees me as the monster I really am. Being the centre of attention is extremely lonely. There's no one to talk to when all the people around you are absolutely ga-ga. They just want to get close to me as possible, they don't want to talk.

I'd like someone to talk to.

Anyone.

Not like it'll happen though.

What am I but a beast? I'm a creature, a monster created for no purpose other than to lure in men of any species, possibly females as well, why not? And sure, there isn't a single man in the world who wouldn't like to get his hands on me, but that is not what I want. I don't want these intolerably abhorrent men all over me all the time, no way would I ever let one close enough. I learned that, very young. I want someone who loves the person that I am, the way I think, the way I talk, the way I live. Not just my body and my bestial charm.

What am I going on about? No. I'm tough. I don't melt at things like this, just fleeting desires that everyone has-- no. I'm tough, I'm strong. My character was developed that way to deal with the way that I am, the things I am forced to live with.

For one, I never had a real family, just an old wise owl who used to tell me all sorts of things about myself when I was younger. He never said where I came from, only that I was born from the land, and that I have a purpose. I suppose it's up to me to find out what that actually is. He used to say that my horns would grow as I got older, but I'm about twenty-three and they haven't done much growing, if any. Maybe that means my life will last longer than it should?

The owl used to tell me all sorts of other things-- What my diet would end up being, where I should like to live, what sorts of creatures I should avoid-- anything. He was even the one who named me Siren, he saw in me what I would become, however he managed that. He also said I was a born killer.

Ironically enough, I killed him.

It was an accident. But he forgave me for it, I saw that in his face before he... went. He was the closest thing I ever had to a friend, a family, a father. And I had killed him.

What's to come for the rest of my life?

Reason You Want It:As surprising as it may be, I don't have any dog characters. I have wanted one for a while, and I really connect with Lila. Her colors compliment each other very nicely.

Backstory:
Halloween.
That single day encompasses the worst moments of my life. On that wretched day, I am doomed to the fate of being a prop. Not a prop like in a play, but a Halloween night prop. I am forced to go out on that night, and 'scare' children and adults alike. Not in the confines of a haunted house; which would be a lesser suffering. But instead, everywhere I go. Sent out into the streets; forced to act like a scary creature I was created to be.

There is only one problem with that. I am not scary in any way. How can a pink and cream colored husky be scary? They can't. And I certainly know that first hand. I try, I really do. It pains me that I cannot fufill the sole purpose I was created for.

"Mommy, look at the puppy!"
"Can I pet it?
"Please, can we take it home?"

These are the phrases that cause me to slink about, hiding in the shadows with my tail between my legs. Shame. I think that I have felt it more than any other creature. I am pulled by instinct to this place, every year I subject myself to this fate.

This Halloween will be different.
I will find a way to reverse this fate. I will live the rest of my life without Halloween, or die trying. My mind has been set, and it will not change.

Personality:
Lila is very bright, though generally she doesn't have a chance to show it. Sometimes she can seem detatched from her surroundings, because her 'peers' don't interest her. Inside, Lila resents her situation; though outwardly she tried to make the best of it. She is very relaxed, and doesn't enjoy the lively and impulsive act she has to put on.
