Pet's ID Tag: 93
Name You'd Choose for It: Autumn
Gender:Female
Species:Domestic Dog
Bernese Mountain DogReason You Want It:I would like to adopt Autumn, because she reminds me of my grandma, and what she likes. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I want to honor her, before she dies, if she does die of cancer. This dog shows a lot of the elements that my grandma really liked. Her favorite colors are blue and purple, her favorite season is Fall, and dogs are her favorite animal.
And to get away from the personal stuff, Autumn's a very gorgeous dog.
History/Background/Other:She came to me one day, on an autumn day so bright.
The day of my birth, my love.
She came to me one day, when I was going through troubles
She sat there and helped me.
She stood through my pain
She looked into my eyes, meeting my brown
With her mixmatched orange and blue.
And I knew
that this was not my last day.I was very young then, not that I am very old now, but I was rather young to have done something of the proportions that I had. It was unheard of for anyone of my species to have done something as amazing, and no one in the world had done it at my age. I should have felt special. But I really did not. I don't know why. What I did was definitely amazing, but of proportions that I couldn't have reached then. As I grew more mature, I realized. And now I know. I really did do something special.

"Mother!" I called, stumbling over the rocks on the ground. "Wait for me!" I was raised in a proper family. I'm British, after all, and it seems that most of us are polite and proper. It's true, though, I have known a few who are most definitely not proper in the LEAST. My family was one of the more prestigious in our clan. Back then, all the families were divided into "clans", and it really was not a good system, but what do I care.
"You can do it, darling. Just a few more steps!" My mother called to me from ahead and I trundled after her, finally reaching my family. I had three sisters, Spring, Summer, and Winter. And then there was me, Autumn. I was the runt, the misfit, as in every family. I knew my mother was itching for the chance to get me out of her family. No one cares for the runts anymore.
My legs crumpled underneath me, and I collapsed on my knees. My mother looked back at me once, then turned and walked away. I knew that resistance was futile, and if I did anything else, I would die in a few minutes. My stamina was horrible, I couldn't walk more than a few steps without panting. My family had put me in a situation that I could not get out of. I had no choice. I closed my eyes and curled into a ball. I knew that I wouldn't make it through the night.

I woke up in a room painted all white, lying in a basket lined with a fleece blanket. A tall woman with a white gown was standing over me, and she looked down at me.
"Oh, look, she's awake!" The woman picked me up, took me out of the room, and carried me down the hall. She took me into another room and placed me on the lap of a woman who looked sick. I don't remember what happened then, only that the woman began to pet me, and as she did, it seemed that she just got healthier-looking and healthier-looking. The women in white took me back later, and they put me back in the wild. It seemed that both the woman and I had gotten better. It was a miracle to me.

I later found out that the woman in the place called a hospital had a disease called cancer. Apparently, I had cured it. She had made me stronger too. I didn't quite realize what had happened then, but now that I am older, I really do realize just what a difference I've made in the life of that woman.
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
