Thinking of introducing a new rule that will affect new and exsisting owners:

"If you have created a horse species since the equid came out whether it resembles them or not you CANNOT adopt Wild Mountin equids. Those people who already own equids and have made their own species will have to pm me and I will judge if you should keep the species based on how much resemblance the two species have."

I think that's a quite good idea, since I've seen some "WME-Resembling" species around lately and I think it's not neccessary to create WME-like species at all. I kinda think it's stealing an idea, especially with the brindling and all that stuff.
If people think that they need this new species in any case, they can quit the WME-Adopting and just go off to their new species...

I like the idea of trying to prevent people from stealing, but maybe equine species as a whole are a little too much? Equines cover a ridiculous range of different animals [Tempestines and Seaquines are two that I can think of that bear little to no resemblence to the WME's or even one another] and most aren't made with equids in mind.
So I like the rule, but maybe just narrow the range of people that would be affected to those with very similar species and talk it over with them?

And you've seen my Zeyamas enough times already, should I still PM you? xD

I totally agree with wibeke on this. As much as I like the rule and think it's a great way of stopping people from stealing your ideas, I don't think it's fair if you did that to all equine adoptables. It would only be fair if you did that to species that look very similar to WME's. I do like the rule though, I just think if it was changed a bit it would be even better ;D

Agreeing with wibeke. It's a little much to say all equines, I just created an equine species that bears no similarities. It's almost a bit arrogant to say that only you may have the equine species, no one else may use it or else they cannot participate in your equids.

I'll pm you, though.

I do agree myself with the rest, its a little harsh to say all equine species but the similarities to WMEs I do have to say that that rule should be enforced, there are a very large amount of species with brindling these days and you do not have to wonder where they came from....

Well, you can't exactly claim brindling either. It's a real coat color, therefore you can't stick a copyright on it. My equine species can be brindle, but I didn't steal that from WMEs. I just think it's a cool coat colour.

Well, brindle is a real coat colour, but isn't the special brindling WMEs have now is called 'quipping'? O.o
