I'd Like To Adopt!Image;
Kennel Number; One/1
Name;Archer
Species;Basque Shepherd Dog x Artois Hound x Bucovina Shepherd Dog
Why Would You Like This Character?;Because not only is he absolutly stunning (and I have been stalking him for a while), the colour in his fur is beautiful. Especially the speckles on his eyes they make him look so innocent and give me the impression that he is extremely cheeky. His appearence gave me awesome ideas for him as well and I would love to give him an anthro form, I think it would expand on his personality so much more.
Personality;Archer comes across as an extremely cheeky young male but this is all a mask to hide his true feelings. Inside he is extremely uncomfortable and he panics a lot and worries about others. He spends half his life making jokes and trying to reassure the others pups he travels with and spends the rest worrying about there safetly, whether they have enough to eat and wondering if they will survive. He is also uneasy spending time having a serious conversation with others, he can't talk about important things like prey, or finding shelter or anything else without making a joke. Joking is his way of relieving stress, and releasing his pent up emotions. Not only that he likes to play small pranks on others to add some entertainment to there strange journey.
Likes;- Hunting - He is a good hunter and generally brings back lots for the rest of the pack
- Running - Due to the mix of dog breeds in this young male he has gained quite a strong running ability. He can outrun most of the others and has been known to outrun many predators that are normally much faster than him.
- The pack - Archer loves his family, as that is what he see's them as. The group of mixed breed dogs and wolves happen to be all he seems to remember and so they are all he has.
Dislikes;- His collar - Archer is the only pack member who has not managed to remove his collar and so it bugs him as he feels slightly left out.
- Small spaces - Some unknown memory causes Archer to hate being in small cramped spaces. He passes out generally.
- Fighting - Archer is a peace loving dog and will avoid fights if possible. But if fighting becomes necissary he fights as well as any of his other pack mates.
History;My ears twitched silently against the cool wind that entered the room. I lifted my head blinking at the harsh light that filtered through the window. My mother was still beside me, her warm fur was soft against my side and I whined softly turning to look at her. Seeming to notice the cause of my distress she let out a low bark and immediatly one of the males she kept around her came in and pulled the dark not-fur (cloth) across the window. I smiled softly, almost purring like a cat in my contentness and closed my eyes again resting my head against her. The male was dismissed with a low growl as my father entered, his heavy pawsteps couldn't be mistaken for anyone else and his dark paws soon came into view along with some of his black legs. I loved my father, even if I looked nothing like him. I had certainly gained my mothers colouring and most of her markings. All I had of my father were his bright red eyes and a few chocolate coloured markings mostly around the eyes and my back. He whispered something to my mother and she whispered back, I hated being a pup I was never told anything. Soon he left and I dozed back off without a word.
Many months passed in the strange home we lived in. Mum said it was a human house that had been abandoned. I didn't know what a human was but one of the other pups told me it was a scary thing. I think I may have seen a human, a strange creature came in and put a collar on my neck when I was about 6 months old but mum wouldnt tell me who it was. My collar itched for a while but now I'm used to it. But enough of that, back to my story. I spent a while in the house but as many youngsters do I got restless and began to explore more, and of course once I had explored the house I wanted to explore outside which mum wasn't very keen on. But I was young and reckless, there was only one other pup in the house and he was bored as well...I will admit we were stupid, we snuck out and I think it may have been the stupidest decision we made as pups and trust me, we did many silly things like that time we tacked another dog from inside what mother called a closet. It was fun till he bit me and got exiled. But this may have been worse.
Me and the other pup, I can't remember his name. It slips from my mind as easily as a paw through water. But for the sake of the story lets call him Bow, fits with my name anyway. So me and Bow slipped out of the house, we went through a large broken window. If I remember dad broke it when I was young, he was angry at the time. As we got out the window we found more houses all around as well as foul smells and lots and lots of moving things. They may have been the humans I mentioned or may have been something completly different. We ignored them at the time and set about exploring this odd new place. We wandered along paths and alleyways not knowing what they were called, I learnt much later what everything was. It wasn't until we reached a road we made our mistake, we didnt know what it was and so recklessly tried to cross it. A huge smelly-shiny-thing came racing towards us and being youngsters we thought it was challenging us. We charged towards it like fools and were hit head on. I got lucky and was thrown to the side but Bow...he was completly flipped over it and was hit by the next one as well. After that I blacked out.
I suppose thats the important part, there isn't much else to hear. Once I awoke I was surrounding by dogs and wolves and I wasn't anywhere near the city. They explained what had happened and asked me to join them. I couldn't remember my family, my injuries were healed and I had no reason to say no. One of them has been working with me as we travel and many of my memories have returned but I have never felt a desire to go home, I have a destiny now and I cannot fail. For all of my kinds sake, we must prevail.
I must leave you now, my pack is waiting and we have a long way to go still. Goodbye.
