Quickly setting the trap, you place the rodent inside. You back away, just having to hope the animal comes out from the den. You sit down in the meantime, watching. Its muzzle, which is a beautiful gray, with tabby markings, pops out from the shadows. It sees you and backs away again quickly, to quick for you to get a good look. It seems a bit scared yet is tempted by the meat. Rare for a dog of this breed to be fearful.

Waiting, you crouch into a tree and watch the trap. Soon enough, a flash of black can be seen. There were other colors you couldn't pick up. Another...another...and there it is! It's crouching, watching the prey. Or bait.
You get a better look at the pelt. It's black with white, blue, and reddish splotches, and you can see a red left eye. You can see a glint of blue for its other eye - Heterchromia! It has several scars. You can't tell if its female or male.
Its pelt had blue and red seeming slashes, riveting X patterns. Its face had a strange red marking too. You couldn't see half of its body, so you did your best with what you got.
You remember that the rangers told you, in quote, "Any dog that you catch, whether you intend to keep it or not, should be brought to us. If you don't want to keep it, we'll release it after noting its rarities and you giving an official decision. You had agreed. So, your first-ever canine to see was this one. Cool...

You look away, well at least seem to. Your gaze remains on where the canine is. The dog eventually creeps out, and by its size, you can tell it's a female. Its gray tabby face is shown again, and so is its white paw. Then a grey tabby paw. You can guess what it is, but can't be confirmed until you bring it back to the rangers. They told you, in quote, "Any dog that you catch, whether you intend to keep it or not, should be brought to us. If you don't want to keep it, we'll release it after noting its rarities and you giving an official decision. You had agreed. So, your first-ever canine to see was this one. Beautiful...
You look back at it after zoning out. Its head is in the box, but it looks at you with a frown. Now, its the choice of what to do next.

Carefully bringing out the squeaky toy, you squeak it twice and throw it towards the canine. She raises her head and snags it, shaking it. Seeing she can trust you, she pads into the box to eat the rodent and drop the toy.

Walking Forward, you can hear the canine munching on the rodent. It won't last long though. You hover at the entrance and, it looks at you nervously. You hold out your hand, and it moves to carefully sniff it. Recognizing the bait scent on your hands, it licks and turns back to its 'meal' Good first impression.
