Personality:
Ryuuko is a kind, but quiet Kitsuneko Chimera. He loves Japanese mythology for he knows that it is actually true, just hidden in remote areas of the world, away from prying eyes. He likes to spend his time writing in Japanese and meditating. He likes collecting pipes of all kinds and looks, and for a special reason too. He hopes to someday have a Kuda-gitsune companion, but for now he enjoys time spending time with his friend Jouka and her Kuda-gitsune companion.
He also likes to study Japanese history, learning everything he can about it. He knows a lot already, but not all. He wants to keep the culture alive. He also studies the ancient ways of Japanese fighting and weaponry.

Backstory:
I was born and have always lived in Japan. I guess that is why I love it so much. My parents disappeared when I was young, leaving me to raise myself. I know they didn't just leave me, something happened to them, hopefully one day I will find out what. After they left I was taken in by a wolf who goes by the name of Kouhei. He is the brother to Jouka, though we met before he found her. He became like an older brother to me and Jouka after we met became like a sister to me.

I did finally find out what happened to my parents. Now I shall tell you. They had gone out to a concert one night, leaving my home after I had gone to sleep. The concert had ended and they walked out, heading back towards home. They were attacked by a gang half way home. I heard that my father tried to defend my mother, but they both died that night and the gang disappeared without a trace. The police came to my house that night, but the gang had already been there and I was gone. I ran into the night, away from the gang, and was soon also declared dead.

I guess that is why me and Jouka have so much in common. They are my family now, just like Jouka found a family, I have also. Hopefully our family will grow, but only when I find the right one for me. I can't wait till that day, but until then I shall watch for her and wait until she knows my love for her.

○ｐｅｒｓｏｎａｌｉｔｙ － Shanmao isn't one for plesentries. You'll often find him quiet, suposably mulling over things in a corner and making intimidating eye contact with everyone so that they'll leave him alone. It's not that he's antisocial; it's just that he dosn't like to make the first move. Shanmao dosn't get along well with quiet, shy, careful animals. He needs roudy, pushy, passionate friends who never consider the concqences and wouldn't think twice about picking a fight with someone who looks at them weird. While he's a little more down to earth than the friends he's looking for, usually ending up as the anchor of the group, he can match the tone of any situation with ease, especially fights. He loves to fight. The adrenline, the pain, the passion- it's never just for fun. That's just a plesant benefit. He doesn't take crap, and he's not afraid to call you out for doing something disrespectful. But, when it comes to girl's, he falls back on his 'don't make the first move' habits, opting to watch them from a far, denying said female attention just because he's afraid to give it, or dosn't know how. I'm not sure even he's figured it out yet. But, if someone does manage to get to his heart... well, that's uncharted ground. After reading that, you might've gotten the wrong impression. Shanmao isn't as mean as he seems- you just have to get to know him. He loves his friends to the extent of laying down his own life. He loves to help, coming across as childish at times because he usually messes things up in the process. Oh, and don't let me forget kits. He LOVES kits and younger animals, but he ends up scaring them off more often then not with his initial roudyness. It's only when he's alone or with animals he can trust that he'll settle down and tell a story or play like the child he still is. If you want to catch a glimps of this side of him, be paitent. Shanmao's got slight trust issues, and he won't show it to just anyone. He's got a 'rep' to keep up, after all.
○ｂａｃｋｓｔｏｒｙ－ You might have been wondering why Shanmaos name is of Chinese origin instead of Japenese. The awnser is simple; he was born in China as a single kit to a single mother. No one knows who she was, but she left her kit to a mother Lynx who'd lost her own to desease after naming him after the animal. No one knows why she did that, either. But the lynx raised him as her own for six months before disapearing, leaving him to fend for himself.
