No, not the ones where researchers did good deeds to help cure or find out something, but the ones where they experimented with lenarions and other creatures for their joy. The research facility was hidden under a nuclear factory where the head of the nuclear factory sponsored this research facility. Being born in such a location, Yami's mother was affected by the radioactive waves and Yami was born with glowing green irises as a genetic defect.

Personality:
Yami has a heightened sense of hostility toward strangers and those who omit a negative aura, however, after being caught by rescuers, he was able to become domesticated enough to be put up for adoption. He is very cautious at first but becomes a total sweetheart with his owners and with those he is comfortable with. Yami is very loyal towards his partner and will protect his loved ones at all costs.
