Pocky's Story:Early one morning Pocky was hanging off the side of his cage in the pet shop. He pulled his seed bowl off the wall and shrieked loudly with amusement when he saw the seeds scatter on the floor. Little did he know today would be different.
The pet shop opened and the children flowed in, pressing their faces on the glass, tapping, prodding just as small children do.

Out of a car hopped and eager girl. She was carrying a large cage in one hand and a wallet in the other. She almost leapt into the pet shop with enthusiasim. As she strolled past the cat food her gaze shot to the end of the isle, where in a cage Pocky was spinning on his perch. The purchase of Pocky was un-avoidable for the girl.

Pocky sat in the cage on the girls bench at home, a smug look was pasted on his face. "Pocky wants a cracker?" the girl asked, smiling. Pocky shrieked loudly and flapped his wings before turning his back and splattering the base of his cage. The girl laughed. "No, I suppose Pocky wants a cookie?" she laughed, ripping open the packet of cookies sitting on the bench. Pocky looked over his shoulder, a smuge twinkle in his eye. Suddenly Pocky burst out "POCKY WANTS A COOKIE!" he squealed, barely able to tolerate those tasty looking treats being eaten without his share being given to him. The girl smiled. "So you can talk huh?" she grinned. "Cookie." Pocky replied, not at all interested in what ever it was the girl wanted to say. The girl broke in half a cookie and gave him the smaller piece. He snatched it and began to peck at it. "I presume you want the bigger piece aswell?" she asked. "Bigger piece!" Pocky said excitedly.

The next morning the girl woke up and rubbed her sore eyes. "Gah, moms coming today. I forgot to clean my room. She will be furious." the girls mom was on a buisness trip to france. Mean while the sixteen year old girl had purchased a parrot, which her mom would most definatley not approve of. Three hours later the door bell rung. "Oi, let me in dear!" came a croaky voice. "Yes, mom!" came the girls exadurated sighing reply. When the woman burst in the door she instantly spotted Pocky being roudy. "You shouldn't have a parrot!" she snapped. "But mom-" the girl whined. "No buts, he is big and mean looking." Pocky glared. He picked words up fast, re-arranged them and didn't care what the out come was. "Big mean mom!" he hollered with a meanacing look. And so it was settled. The parrot was to stay. The girls mom wouldn't give him away for he was too rude.

Early the next morning Pocky hopped to the edge of his cage. Seeing some parrot toys outside he carefully pulled open his cage door. He snuck over to the packet of toys. He prodded the plastic then in a bewildered state tipped his head to the side. He then flew over to the girl, pecking her on the nose and sqwuaking "HELP?" the girl who had been asleep leapt up then glared at Pocky. "What?" she snapped. Pocky hopped over to the toys in their packaging. "Cookies please?" he asked, adding to the chore list. The girl simply laughed and got him a cookie. When he was done eating she opened the toys. "You are smart, arn't you Pocky?" she said. "Yes, Pocky is smart." replied Pocky, an all masterful look on his face.

And so life carries on like this for Pocky, the parrot who never ceases to amuse.
I understand that by adopting Pocky I take full responsibility for him.
