But however civilized they may seem they are still animals, and differ greatly from humans in their way of thinking and acting. A smili has a very typical predatory mind.

They seem to be very intellegent and highly social, capable of higher thinking but not as developed as humans. In some ways they remind of the earliest humans.

Would a Smili's emotional range and emotional reactions be more similar to those of a human, or an animal; then?

I'd count their emotional range pretty close to humans, primitive humans, but more advanced that most animals. They are probably more prone to trust their instincts, and think with their 'reptile brain' when pressured. Smili just haven't developed their society or language very far, but to me they still feel almost like people would^^.

Wow. I haven't been on this thread for a long, long time... I love the new smili!

I just thought I'd inform you that my username is now Mello-chan, not FreyaAquarius. :D

Also, I was wondering if you would ever think of offering some kind of service where you'd draw the cubs in the adult lineart to show they'd grown up.

I absolutely love the cheetah Smili, but I have a few quick questions regarding my potential story.

1) Would it be alright if I mentioned a nameless, description-less female in the story in order to show his history? I understand if you don't, however, and I do have a back-up plan, just in case. :3

2) Just to clarify, even if a female has one cub, those cubs could come out stillborn, just like with any animal, correct?

3) Since they seem to have simple emotional ranges, do Smili mourn over the loss of a mate or a cub? And, if so, do they have any funeral-esque ritual? (i.e. like burying the body/cremating the body, etc.)

I'll probably have more questions as I finalize the story, but that's all I have for now. ^.^

Ah; thank you! [That's good to know. ^^]

Also, for the art section of my form I was planning on drawing out a few scenes from the Smili's history. Would it be alright if I drew the silhouettes of other Smili when needed, or should I just draw only the Smili that I'm trying for? :3

Mello-chan, it's been a while since it was active, hasn't it?^^. I'll try to remember to get around to change your username.
I don'tt think I'm going to be offering something like that. There are pretty many cubs and it's some work to fill them into a grown up lineart. The old rule was that you had to get art elsewhere of your adult smili.

Tiikeria, okay, I like questions^^.
1. You can make up simple background characters in order to make the story come alive, but you can't keep using the characters outside your smilis background story, if that makes sence?
2. Oh yes, I can't see any reason why they couldn't have stillborn cubs?
3. As far as I know, many animals appears to mourn over their lost kin, so I see no reason whatsoever why smili wouldn't be able to feel sorrow over loss. About funerals, I leave that more open. I bet there are some smili who have some rituals attached to the death. Some might bury their dead, if they can find a way to do so. They should be able to dig a hole in soft ground, but it would be hard in some enviroments. Some might just leave their dead where they are, or drag them away where they won't be in the way or cause sickness. Other options are possible, like tipping them into a river. Eating them? I hope not. Cremating would be hard as most smili (in my mind all, but there is some or another subspecies that are exceptions) don't use fire for anything, have no way of rtarting or controling it and maybe even fears it.
I hope I got mostly all of your questions answered, but feel free to ask again if there's something I need to clarify.

Red October, you can draw your background smili, as long as it's pretty nondescriptive it's all fine. Silhouettes are perfectly alright.

Thanks so much for the answers, Spotty. X3 Those will definitely help me out when writing for the cheetah smili.

@Hollowed & Apple: Actually, three are up for adoption at Pound Of Hope right now. :3 You'd have until the 6th to get forms in, if you wanted. ^.^

I saw that in your signature earlier<3
Tru's style suites the Smilis so well, maybe 'cause she's really good at drawing lions, and has an amazing shading style as well. c:
