I really love the last one, I'll definitely have to make a form for that one. ouo

Just wondering, but were they based off of anything, or were they just random designs? c:

Jelli, good luck^^.
The first one where supposed to be based on a bobcat but I strayed away too far. The second started out as a cheetah and the third one is loosely based on a fawn^^.

Those new smilis are gorgeous, Spotty. c: If I wasn't already applying for a different character, I might be tempted to try out for the first one, he is SO handsome. ^^;

I am very happy to see smilis getting more attention. <3

I do have to say, though I adore the new lineart, I don't see it as very feminine for the ladies, but perhaps that's your aim. Of your new batch the cheetah based smili seems the most feminine to me. I just wanted to point that out. :"}

I think music is about our internal life.
It's part of the way people touch each other.
That's very precious to me. And astronomy is,
in a sense, the very opposite thing. Instead of
looking inwards, you are looking out, to things
beyond our grasp.

With the smili getting started up again I figured I'd draw tarrow. ^^

Now I remember why I don't draw him that often. His pattern is so much harder than it looks. xD

About breedings, I don't remember what I said about that in the past, but I think it used to be no. I think I wanted to keep the smili population down a bit, so if everyone could design their own cubs it would give an unfair advantage to everyone that owns a smili, they could get as many smili as they'd like. In any colours they'd like too. And perhaps the new cubs would eventually show up at other adoption agencies. Suddenly I would have lots control of my species. So it's a no^^'.

Thanks for answering spotty ^^; I completely understand what you mean, and that's absolutely fine C: Thanks :>

I absolutely adore the cheetah Smili, the contrast between his mane and eyes is just ... wow. :D
All three are stunning, I really like the way the designs look on the new lineart. ^^

Also, I was curious about something. ~
Would Smili be able to communicate verbally only with other Smili? I would have thought so, since they have their own language, but I've seen quite a few people with Smili that are involved with characters of other species, so ... ^^;

Red October, thank you so much! <3

In my mind, smili does not have a real spoken language. But on the other hand, neither have wolves or cats, and it's usually pretty much requiered with some dialouge to be able to express their stories. I don't mind either way, it's probably most practical to let smili be able to speak some kind of smili language among themselves. If that language is a proper one with words or a language of expressions and body language can be left open.
To me, it would be pretty unexpected if other species understood them, but for the sake of good stories or smashing forms that can absolutly be overlooked. Go ahead and make it as you like it^^. How the non-smili communication is performed is up to each one to figure for themselves. Perhaps their language is of a more or less universal kind, or perhaps another species could learn to understand smili sounds in time. Or if a smili characher learnt enough about another species language to communicate that way. Go ahead and make iit as you wish^^.

It's kind of neat seeing how people write about these guys. Makes all of the smilis so different.
I kind of figured that somethings would just be kind of universal but a smili wouldn't be able to hold a conversation with another species. That's how it worked for Tarrow, but he was living with wild boars and they weren't very... bright. I wouldn't imagine they talked much at all to start with except grunting and stomping their feet, which they'd pick up on pretty fast. He understood them and could communicate, but anything beyond that and he'd be lost. And he can hardly speak to other smili because of how young he was when he joined them.

I was curious about something ~

But however civilized they may seem they are still animals, and differ greatly from humans in their way of thinking and acting. A smili has a very typical predatory mind.

They seem to be very intellegent and highly social, capable of higher thinking but not as developed as humans. In some ways they remind of the earliest humans.

Would a Smili's emotional range and emotional reactions be more similar to those of a human, or an animal; then?
