Gotta love typos. :u

Trackers can sense some weather changes (such as rain because it has a typical smell), but not everything.

I'll prolly start judging in an hour or so. So, I'll give you some time to finish your forms.

Tracker Dog Application Series 10

Username: Angelpuplover :D

Tracker Dog you want: #31;)

Name you'll give it: Jewel. It's perfect for her. :D

Reason why you want it: She is beautiful :D and I have been waiting for weeks for a stealth tracker to be available. Not just any ST. One I liked and connected with. I connected with her for a few reasons. She looks like my aunt's old greyhound, who she had to give away because of personal reasons.Which I was VERY upset about :'( Also some of my family members helped out in the war (Donating etc. Not fighting) And she could make a cool memory. :) It'd also be the first time I adopt from you guys, which I have been wanting to do for a while :)

Will it be used in any kind of story? I'm not really a story writer, but if I ever make more expect her to be in it! :D She will also be in my signature. She'll also be in a secret place on my computer, where I keep all my adoptables. I'll send you some pics of what she's doing there. She'll have fun! :D

Describe its personality: Loyal, alert, friendly, calm, patient, fast and free. She is graceful and a hero. A winner. A good dog heart and soul.

Write an introduction for your Tracker: Meet Jewel! The life saving dog! She has a great personality and has saved many people. She is a good hearted dog, being fast and free, and will do anything to help. If you ever get hurt, expect to see a dog prancing wild and freely towards you to your rescue. :)

I have always wondered this, are trackers furry or are they rubbery like dolphins or.. etc? I'm just always confused, cause some of the different breeds of trackers look furry, and some don't.

Also, if needed, would a tracker EAT another tracker?!(just for future stories and stuff) I hope not XD

They have fur. Even the aquatics have fur, but it's very short.

And I doubt they'd eat eachother.

Ok, because on the regular tracker lines, they look very smooth, and the aquatics and aerial. But ok! That'll help with my future stories, I use to think some of the breeds were rubbery.

Ok! good to know too!

Spinach~ wrote:Work in Progress -- Construction Zone

Tracker Dog #30 I Available until March 25
Gender: Male
This boy serves the exact purpose you'd expect of him; firefighting. His colours suit firemen and he's had a long and intensive training to make him suitable for his job. His fur always seems shiny, as his skin excretes a chemical to shield him from the heat and the flames. With this, he can remain in a fire for an hour before needing water to cool him down. The four openings behind his nose are part of a mechanism inside his snout that converts smoke to oxygen. When he just got out of a fire, it'll look as if he's exhaling smoke. However, this doesn't work well with extreme quantaties of smoke, so he knows to keep his snout to the ground. His tongue is shorter, so it won't get burned. He's very loyal and has been trained to put a human life before his own.

Tracker Dog you want:

The fireman, #30. :)

Name you'll give it:

Whimet

Behind the Name:

I went on to Wikipedia.org and searched 'Firefighter'. One of the statements that popped out of me was 'In the United States helmet colors often denote a fire fighter's rank or position. In general, white helmets denote chief officers, while red helmets denote company officers, but the specific meaning of a helmet's color or style varies from region to region and department to department.' I really wanted to show that this Tracker was very important to a firefighter's job, just like a chief officer, so I combined White Helmet into Whimet.

Nicknames:

Smokey

Why 'Smokey':

Although Whimet likes to be only called by his real name, some call him Smokey. I made this up simply because he reminds me of Smokey the Bear, as both himself and Smokey are firefighter animals.

Reason why you want it:

All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! to IceSky. I'm so glad you suggested this design!! :D I went to the thread and saw 'Series 10' at the top. I nearly blew up with anticipation. I scrolled down to the Adoptions section, scrolling right past #30 without even knowing it. I saw the other two and I said "Aww, they're cute but I don't want 'em!" :( Then I scrolled up again, and I saw him! I think I fell off my chair at that point, but my mind is still pretty wonky after hitting my head on the floor.

His design is adorable, I love how his coat colors make him look like he's wearing a firefighter's suit. <3 I also love how his paws, muzzle, and tail tip look as though they're made of smoke or burned. It fits in with the whole theme perfectly!

I can't wait to start writing his story! I would love to be Whimet's owner, and I hope you see me as a potential candidate. :D

What will you do with it:

If I got lil' Whimet, I would do just about everything with him! He would have a permanent home in my signature, of course, and I would draw and write lots about him. If a Tracker dog roleplay comes out (I know lolsaya mentioned creating one with your permission) I would certainly sign up. He would also be introduced to my other characters: Treader, Gatzie, and Kay-ana. I have a feeling he'll get along well with Treader. ;)

Age:

It is thought that Whimet is about two years old, but since he is simply a scientific creation no one knows for sure.

Height:

Whimet is approximately a meter at the shoulders.

Weight:

Whimet has a muscle in his head that turns smoke into oxygen with the help of the four openings on the skin and veins running to and from the holes to the muscle and back, delivering smoke and oxygen all at once. Unfortunately, this muscle weighs quite a bit, making Whimet a bit heavy. He's about 185 pounds, but this also makes him able to take more weight in his jaws.

Family:

Since he is only a creation, Whimet doesn't have a mother or father. He wasn't created with any brothers or sisters, either, so he doesn't have any family members.

Friends:

Not being the most popular of all Trackers, and having to spend most of his time working during his fall and winter shift, Whimet doesn't have any nor cares for any friends apart from his handlers.

His toy:

Whimet has a special toy that he has had since the beginning of his career. It was given to him by one of the firefighters in his squad when they welcomed him into the team. It's a squeaky red fire hydrant that is well-worn out by now. It looks more gray than red at the moment!

Favorites:

His toy ~ How can he not love it? He's had it since the beginning of time!
His handlers ~ Me, and all of his fellow firemen on his squad.
Fire ~ Naturally, he loves flames. His ideal evening is sitting in front of a fireplace, letting the heat lull him off to sleep.
His job ~ Even if his partners doubted him at first, he loves his job and has gotten much better at it over time.

Least Favorites/Dislikes:

Water ~ He loves it and hates it all in one. It makes his job much easier, but it's still fire's worst enemy.
Secrets ~ Probably because his squad had a private meeting about whether to kick him off of the team or not. He likes being able to know whatever is in your mind.

Daily Routine:

On a day at the job he wakes up, wanders around the fire station, greets everyone and makes sure everything is orderly, or watches TV with one of the guys until that siren goes off. Then for the rest of the day he's out and about - doing what he does best.

In spring and summer, when he's with me, he sleeps in, orders a steaming hot breakfast (it reminds him of his job), then wanders around the house or runs around in the backyard. He does what he pleases.

Will it be used in any kind of story:

Yep! I would love to make a story about this guy!

Describe its personality:

On The Outside

On the outside, Whimet is just a fun-loving, goofy Tracker. He's a best friend to all of his work partners and his true owner. He'll romp around mindlessly until a siren goes off. He's a hard worker, who used to struggle at paying attention and finding the strength to complete the mission. These days, he's always got his mind on his job and never finds anything that phases him. It appears as though he is not too smart, never thinking of consequences and believing that he can do anything and save anyone. He has shown some signs of intelligence, though.

Under the Skin

Under the skin, Whimet is a funny, goofy Tracker who is, in fact, very smart, but sometimes loses all common sense when set on a goal or task. He's not afraid to be loud and proud. He makes a great friend and a hard worker, who loves helping out and saving lives. He would certainly put a stranger's safety in front of his own.

From The Heart

I wish I could tell you Whimet's true personality, but he would probably claw off my face. Unfortunately, I wish to live, and so my lips are zipped for now. I'm the only person who knows- not even his fellow firemen have a clue. I'm not telling, but if you persuade and beg Whimet enough...

Write an introduction for your Tracker:
(Please understand that Whimet, if I won him, would live with me for half the year in spring and summer, and would be sent off to the squad rotations in fall and winter to do what he loves. :) )

I was laying on the couch when the alarm started blaring. The noise might have driven a normal dog insane- maybe even the average Tracker dog, but I was completly unphased. Just a typical day at the fire station. I yawned, stretched, and waited by the men while they rushed to get on their suits. After that, we all ran single-file out of the station and into the truck. We hadn't even started moving when a call came over the radio.

"Squad 86B, Squad 86B, are you with me?" I saw the faces of my handlers turn pale. The woman sending the alert sounded so panicked, and we had never received information so quickly after the siren went off. Then again, I had only been there for a month or so.

"Squad 86B, we are here. We are here. Over."
"Wild fire at 46 North. Situation looks bad."
"The strip of woods behind the log cabins?"
"You got it."
"Thank you. We are headed that way. Over."

I wasn't too panicked. I didn't think the whole thing would be too bad. Go in, rescue a couple of people, put out the flames, double check, and then leave. It couldn't be too hard.... Boy, was I wrong.

Even when we got there, it looked pretty grim. And that was when the fire had just started picking up. I fearlessly dove into the huge flames, finding myself trapped in a ring of fire. A woman sat coughing in the center. I went over to her. My coat protected me from the heat, and I had enough oxygen, but she was in bad condition. I licked her, trying to cool her off, but nothing worked. I couldn't think of a way to share my supply of oxygen, though.

I only knew one thing: I had to protect her.

I stood over her, waiting. I knew my friends would eventually come with hoses. They would help. I would save her, and they would put out the flames. All of us would be safe.

But they never did come. The minutes ticked by. A glanced a few of them breifly, circling the fire and attempting to put it out. Unfortunately, they were only having as much luck as I was. I looked down at the woman again. She smiled at me, then once again went into a coughing fit. I howled desperately. I could not leave her.

Two hours went by, and my patners still could not exhaust the flames. The woman had long ago passed out. Eventually, I also collapsed next to her. I had failed. I had not saved the woman in time. She would be dead by the time this was all over.

The next thing I remember was waking up in the fire station. I was laying in my bed, and everyone went over to pat my head or scratch my ear when they first saw my eyes open. They said that I had done a 'Good job!' and that I had really helped them out. I wasn't stupid, though. I knew better. The woman would have been long gone by now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Scott is a human firefighter.)
Later that evening, cheif held a meeting, asking for all squad members to attend. We all sat down at a table quietly and waited for him to speak. Once the cheif had sat down, he turned to me and nodded.

"Scott, this meeting is about your Tracker. He tried his best in the wild fire, but he did not save the woman he tried to protect. It cost the woman her life. The scientist promised that he would make a great edition, but he has failed us. We are here to vote: Keep him, or send him back. All those in favor of keeping him, raise your hands."

One hand went up. It was my own.

"So the rest of you want to dispose of him, eh? Well, every member should have some say in this... so we will give the Tracker one last chance. If he fails us again, there will be no third chances. He will be sent back."

Once again, the alarm sounded. Tracker, I thought, you had better save somebody this time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was outside when the noise reached my ears. I jumped into the station through my XL doggy door and ran out the front to the truck. Everyone seemed tense, and kept staring at me. No one spoke. We got the information and slowly and silently drove to the location.

By the time we had arrived, the fire had almost died out. It was easy to put out the rest of it. After that, we began to nose around in the fallen rubble to see if there was anyone trapped. We heard cries for help, but I couldn't locate the victim. After hours of searching, we had to give up. We were almost at the fire truck when I heard something...
