Paragraph on where you get the pokemon:Fire. All around me. Surrounding me. I was caught in a gigantic blaze, what I would have imagined the surface of the Sun to seem like. The fire began closing in on me. I needed to get out. But as I turned to run something caught my eye. A dark figure. Floating about the flames. I walked towards it, bewitched by it. Though in this trance I did not see the flame beside me as it rose up, and finally enveloped me... I woke with a start, my fist pressed against my pounding heart as I tried to regain my breath.
"What was that all about?" I wondered to myself. I pushed my dream aside and got dressed in my
normal attire brushing my long black hair out and then pushing my bangs aside. I jogged downstairs and saw my mom watching TV, sipping her coffee casually as her Herdier, Sam, napped on her lap. "Morning sweetie." She said, just as I sat down at the counter and began eating my french toast and sipping my cappuccino. She got up and walked over to me, Sam following obediently behind when she finally sat down on the seat next to me and said, "Today's your big day. I packed some things in your bag and side pack." She then pulled out something from behind her, "These were my favorite fingerless gloves, and I always gave them the silly title of being 'lucky', I hope you like them." I finished my breakfast and gently took the gloves from her hands, trying them on then saying,
"They're awesome mom, thanks." I hugged her, then patted Sam and just as I walked out the door said,
"Wish me luck!" She smiled and waved goodbye. I stepped outside. Our house was slightly farther away from the others, inside the woods, which was where I spend most of my time anyways. I walked down the small path that would lead me out to the main town. Pokemon scuttled about, a few stopped to watch me, but I kept on my way. About halfway down the trail I saw scorch marks on the side very messily spread about. I followed the sporadic pattern until I came upon a shaking bush.
A shaking bush? I pushed a few leaves aside and then saw a small moth-like pokemon looking as though it had been badly pelted with rocks. I reached down to help it but as soon as I got near it, two Geodudes jumped out of the bushes and began pelting me with rocks. I grabbed the moth pokemon, making sure to avoid its main wounds, and made a run for it. I finally reached the end of the trail, and the beginning of the town, still running straight to the lab. The automatic doors were thankfully fast enough to detect me and open before I almost busted right through them. I ran in, looking around and seeing a few lab workers looking everywhere for something, or someone. One of them finally saw me and exclaimed, "She found the Larvesta!" so that was what this pokemon was, and ran over to me followed by her two colleagues. She looked at the Larvesta and took a spray and sprayed its wounds, and like magic they disappeared. She then looked at me and said, "Thanks you for retrieving Larvesta, he somehow escaped. We'll take him off of your hands now." She scooped him up into her arms and took him to the professor. The other guy colleague said to me, "I take it you are here for your first pokemon?" I nodded. "Follow me then." He said happily. He showed me to the pokemon they currently had and said, "I apologize, we would have more traditional starter pokemon, but it seems that many young trainers have appeared lately to get their first pokemon, and many of the common and more popular pokemon have been picked up. I laughed,
"It's alright, I'm not much of a common person, I like the more unique aspects in life." His eyebrows raised, "Well then, I think we both know who your first starter pokemon is already." I tilted my head in confusion,
"We do?" He chuckled and led me over to a table where the professor was at. I tugged on his sleeve,
"Is it alright to disturb him?" he rolled his eyes and kept walking. I followed slightly irritated and worried about disturbing the professor when I finally saw what was on the table. It was the Larvesta from before, looking much better, and as soon as it spotted me jumped off the table and basically tackled me, causing us both to fall back.
"Hey there you." I said with a laugh as I stroked its soft mane, it gave me a cheeky grin. The professor then said, "This is Larvesta as you may already know him, and he very much knows you. He's not the average pokemon you see on the roads everyday, and we went through a lot of trouble finding him, and when he escaped we were in a daze, and then you seemed to come to the rescue, bringing him back. When we first received him he was quite the tough little thing giving us all kinds of trouble and not liking any of the workers, including myself. We later decided it would be best to see if someone would catch his attention and maybe choose him as their starter pokemon." He emphasized the last sentence and gave me a certain look. I looked down at Larvesta and then said,
"What do ya' say? Wanna tag along with me?"Other:1. Sorry it's so long, I had a lot of muse, xP
2. I read on
here that he was kind-of rare, seeing as you only have a 5.9% chance of catching them and such, though tell me if you disagree/believe I am wrong, ^^
