You can’t have them be the center/focus of it, but you can have them in the background! Say you’re using the history of a cat you own to level up; you can include a NPC to be apart of the history, but you can’t write it about that NPC.

Wild Clan has a very large territory that includes a dense forest, an open moor, and marshland that is fed by the river that wanders through their territory.
Their camp is located on the stretch of land where forest meets moorland, the walls of their camp being heavily protected by the dense foliage they wove the walls into, and the entrance opening right into the open moor.
Through the tall grass in the moor the cats of Wild Clan have carved paths that weave through the land, much like a maze. It's very easy for outsiders to get lost in these weaving paths, and gives Wild Clan a great advantage in navigating the grasses.
In the dense forest, the situation is much the same, paths have been carved through the undergrowth and even small rest stops and makeshift dens have been woven into bushes for those who might get lost.
The marshland is less traveled than the rest of the territory, but there are determined warriors who make the trek, and teach their apprentices how to navigate the landscape.
