History:“Humans…” Is what the creatures were called. They were strange, not much fur on them, and no paws like us. I rarely ever saw them and I knew to keep away from them. They’d lure us in with their sweet treats, “Cookies.” I never tasted one but I had seen one before. A male human gave one to a serenche and patted her head, before tying a rope on their neck and taking them away. I never knew where they went and I didn’t want to find out. I was raised far from humans, the first time I saw them my parents held me back. They warned me about the dangers and I obeyed. But soon enough I was involved with them. I was soon enough able to explore the forest and the surroundings. I enjoyed it at night as humans were often seen during the day.
I could see a small glow through the trees and I smelled meat. I couldn’t resist and I followed the smell, a human was here. I guessed it was a male; it had short fur on its head. But when it spoke it sounded like…a female. It noticed me and smiled, reached into the bag and held out…A Cookie. I growled and shook my head. I much rather preferred meat over those bait treats. The human put it away and stuck out a meat-like thing on a stick. “Hot-Dog” Was it’s name. It was red and it looked so juicy…I warily stuck my head out and licked the hot-dog. The human made no sudden moves, only a kind smile. I opened my mouth and snapped up the meat. It squished inside my mouth and it tasted delicious. I swallowed and looked back at the human. It held out another one but I took it too fast. It burned inside my mouth and I dropped it. The human grabbed a bottle and splashed water into my mouth. I panted and stared at the hot-dog. Waiting for the smoke to go away. I knew what the human was doing now, heating the meat over the fire. I had never seen that before, it was unusual. The human looked away and went back to roasting the hot-dogs. I wanted more but I had to take a pre-caution. I looked into the open bag and stuck my muzzle into it, sniffing and licking everything inside. It smelled like foods and a box with sticks in it. (Matches) But no rope or anything inside. I felt something touch me and I whipped my head around with a growl. The human didn’t flinch but it was holding out another hot-dog. I accepted it and looked into the bag again. I pulled out something cold and soft. I bit it and it was chewy and I licked the inside of my mouth. The human laughed and took a piece of the food, “Cheese-Cake” the human called it. It was yummy and I licked my lips. I was full now and I sat next to the human, watching and listening to the fire crackle as the human would continue to eat. The human had earned some of my trust. Maybe.
It soon started to become a routine. Me, following the scent and sitting with the human by the fire. It would feed me and smile but would never touch me. I was almost an adult but my parents still worried where I went at night. I went out once again to visit the human but my parents followed me this time. I didn't know it. The human smiled and stood up, holding out another hot-dog for me. I couldn’t get enough of those; I ate them almost every night. It was too good to pass up. I heard a growl and a yell, then a soft thud. I snarled and pinned down one of the attackers, I felt the need to defend the human. I quickly released as soon as I saw it was my mother. “Come on, Run, Now! While the human is down!” My father called out to me as he weaved his way through the trees, making his way back home. My mother nipped my ear to get my attention and she ran after my father. “Let’s go!” I stood in my place and didn’t follow. I heard a groan from the human as blood oozed out from its arm. It could bleed like us? I sniffed the wound and lick it softly, I couldn’t deny it. I had formed a bond with this human. The human looked and me and clutched to the fur on my neck. It stood up slowly and went to the backpack. The human took out some water poured it over the wound. I watched the human carefully, wondering if it would retaliate against them or me. The human stopped bleeding very soon, as it was only a large scratch wound. It went back to feeding me, acting like nothing had ever happened. It held out the stick with hot-dog at the end but I shook my head. I walked away from the human, following the scent trail my parents left. My father frowned at me and my mother didn’t look at me. “You almost attacked your mother!” My father was angry I could tell, a little fearful though. “We were only trying to save you, that human is just like the rest of them…” My mother said in a whisper. “No, it’s not, this human feeds me every night and has never tried to capture me.” I didn’t think that all humans were bad after meeting that one. But my parents refused to believe me. “Every night!? Do you know how dangerous that is!?” My father hated the humans, he believed every human came to take one of us away from our home. “You don’t understand, this one is a good human!” I stormed out and didn’t come back that night. I found my own place to stay and I continued seeing the human. To this day the human has never harmed me. We would gaze out at the stars at night, play-fight with each other in the grass, and eat ‘till we were stuffed.
The human looked at me strange one day and started walking in a different direction. I followed but wasn't sure of where we were going. The human looked down at the waterfall and smiled. I looked around nervously, I didn't know how to swim. I never taught nor had I tried it. I wasn't looking when I suddenly was pushed off the cliff, the human holding onto me. I gasped for air and tried to climb back up the rocks but the waterfall pushed me down. The human was heavy and I couldn't even get a good grip. I heard the human scream as we splashed into the pool of water below. The human released me and I panicked, pushing myself and running towards the shore. The human followed me and watched me curiously. I sat on the side and looked at the human. It went back to swimming and I only watched. They would kick all their legs to swim, looked simple enough but I didn't trust myself. I down at the water, seeing my reflection in it. That was the moment I could see my eyes. Whenever I would drink water I always closed my eyes so I wouldn't be as scared of falling. But when I saw my eyes this time, I noticed that I had no dot in my eye like my parents. The human came out from the reflection and pulled my head into the water. I came up for air immediately and kicked my paws like the human. I was floating? The human was next to me, kicking it's legs. I copyed it and I wasn't drowning. I kicked a little stronger and I was moving. I dunked my head into the water bit the water, it came into my nose and I pulled myself out, sneezing out the water. The human laughed at me and splashed water into my face. I tried it with my paw and ended up splashing myself. I sweeped up the water with my paw and threw it at the human. I felt great now that I had learned to swim, though I wondered why my parents never showed me how.
The human had something strange one time, it would beep and make strange sounds. The human gave it to me to investigate it. I pawed at it and it beeped. I sniffed it and nudged it around with my nose, it didn't smell like anything I had ever seen before. I chewed on it, and more beeps came out. The human watched me play with it. I looked closely at the bright light in it, until it snapped at me, nearly catching my nose. I growled and flipped it open again. I slammed my paw down on the light and it flew into the air, hitting the side of my muzzle. I wasn't going to take it anymore! I picked up the object and held it tightly in my jaws. I dropped it into the fire and watched it burn and melt. I laughed at the mean object, it couldn't hurt me now! The human laughed with me, the object has died. (Object is actually a cellphone xD And the human is laughing at him for throwing it in the fire XP)
I carried the bird in my mouth, trying not to cough from all the feathers. I dropped it on the ground and nudged it toward the human. The human looked at me strangely and didn't touch the bird. I nudged the bird and pointed my nose at the fire, trying to use body language to see if the human would know what I meant. It worked and the human stabbed the stick into the bird and held it over the fire. I had always chased birds when I was a pup but if I caught one I'd always cough or sneeze from all the feathers. But the human took out something shiny and cut away all the feathers. I tilted my head in confusion, the bird was bald now. When it was toasted brown the human held it out to me. I sniffed it but didn't sneeze, I nawed on the skin a little then took a bite of it. It was pretty good. The human didn't eat any of it, instead gave it all to me. I pushed the stick to the human, offering to share. But the human refused and gave it back to me. I growled softly but finished eating up the bird. I looked for the feathers but as it turns out, it was all in the fire. I leaned in a little to watch until I sneezed on the fire. The fire went down a little until the human threw a little burning stick into the fire. The fire roared and rose up and I fell back, it had almost singed my fur. The human said something to me, it sounded like "Bewarful..." I nodded like I understood but I really had no idea what the human meant by that. (The human said "Be Careful..." but it all sounds strange to him)
Which Cage?: #4
Other: I couldn't resist it any longer, I had to go for him. 83 He's special since he's my very first design, I grew too attached. D: I'd love to write short stories about him and the human in my spare time! X3
