Congrats to everyone who got the characters they wanted! And thanks so much for Falter ^-^ Sorry for putting the code-word down wrong xD

▲ ▼ ▲ Miscell.
Username: KitKat~
Kennel: 176
Cred.: canter for lines and design
▲ ▼ ▲ Basics
Name: Dust, Dusty
Cover name: Redwood
Birth-name: Another one bites the dust
Gender: Male/stallion (unconfirmed)
Breed: Thoroughbred/Hanoverian (unconfirmed)
▲ ▼ ▲ More miscell.
Use: I've had my eye on Dusty for a while but for some reason didn't ever actually go for him. I think it was because at the start I was very picky and didn't particularly want a horse character. As soon as I decided to apply for Dusty a story began to form. I love writing, so I often go over stories in my head, but I've honestly never thought about a story as much as the one I'm making for this character, and I've only thought up the first part xD
It was the art of this character that first caught my eye, I think. I love his design as well and don't plan to change a bit of it. So much detail was put into making this horse- with its stripy hooves and neck markings- and I'd love to make him my own. I'll order art of him, write stories about him and his owner, possibly participate in role-plays with him and may yet breed him with someone else's horse character.
▲ ▼ ▲ Profile
Build: Dusty is strong and muscular. His feet are light and swift thanks to years of galloping over fields and trotting through forests to deliver messages and warnings to far-off kingdoms. He has keen eyes and ears, enabling him to be very perceptive in certain situations.
Gait: He has a very light, bouncy trot and a steady walk, so riding bareback on Dusty is doable, though not done often, as his only rider is his owner. He can reach high speeds with his gallop, thundering up and down hills, though his owner has to be patient with him sometimes as Dusty will occasionally refuse to cross rocky terrain without picking through it carefully.
Appearance: He has a beautiful coat, the colour of red dust baked by the sun, and a light cream-coloured main and tail. His hooves are of a similar colour with the palest of stripes and his socks are fringed by an even darker red. He has dark red markings traced with light cream and appear to be like stalactites hanging from his neck. The furthest marking down from his head ends in the thin cream like running down his front left foot to his sock, which, unlike the others, has no red fringe. He has a cream-coloured blaze on his face, which runs all the way down his back, passing beneath his mane and ending at his tail. His rare coat makes him much sought-after by royalty.
▲ ▼ ▲ History
I stood there in the shade of a large oak, gazing down the hill at the valley that unfolded before me. Clusters of dark houses and neat stone pathways crawling with people snaked between the feet of hills, most of which had farms and mansions atop them for richer residents of Bale.
Before I'd left home, my father had said, "Head to Bale first. The place is like the land's biggest marketplace- residents will part with anything for the right price." I'm sure he'd been exaggerating, but I had to see the place for myself, and I'd come here for one reason- well, two- to buy supplies and a horse.
I was heading in to the wilderness to begin my life as a rogue and kingdom messenger. I wouldn't be a messenger for a single kingdom, no- I was heading to one of the more dangerous places in the land to report to nearby kingdoms about strange activity or approaching armies on the border. For this I needed the perfect horse for the right price. One that didn't shy easily, could withstand great distances, gallop fast when the need pressed, was obedient and one I liked.
So I headed down in to the valley, my travelling cloak slung over my shoulder. It had been my fathers old one, and I was attempting to follow in his footsteps.
I stepped up to the door and rapped on it. The door opened and a short, fat man stood there. "'Ello?" He had a thick accent and I hesitated. "Is.. Gabriel Bell here?" "Yes, how can he be of 'elp?" "I'm- Caden Mattalic, son of Sicho Mattalic, he told me to-"
I was cut off when the man lunged towards me and enveloped me in a bone-crushing hug. "Sicho! Been long time! How's 'e?"
"Er.. good."
"Good, good! Follow me, pah-lease." The man turned and, still chortling, waddled down the hallway. I had no choice but to follow him, and my father said he was a trustworthy man, so I did.
I set out the next day. The man allowed me a good night's rest at his house, and provided me with basic supplies to last a few days. "Come see me before you head off, 'ah?"
"Okay."
And so I began walking along. I wasn't quite sure where I was going. Perhaps to the marketplace, or the farms? I decided the marketplace. It was closer, and even more so if I cut through the shabby district. Rich people who cared not for nice, large houses or physical wealth. And it was here I found what I was looking for.
I ran my hand along the rough planks of wood as I walked along, and heard a sound. I stopped and peered over the top of the fence. I little girl, about ten, was giggling at her horse, a tiny thing of a few months old, who was struggling knee-deep in a pool of mud. "Hello," I began.
She whirled around and stared at me. "Whaddya want?" She scowled, flicking her black pigtails out of her face. "Er... I... would you take... thirty coins for that horse?"
Pricey, I know.
"G-gold coins?" Her eyes shone.
"Yes, of course. Just for the horse. Enough to buy three horses, if you wish!"
"Take it. Go. I have no use for it. Thirty gold coins!" She squealed. I dug around in my deep pockets and retrieved an oily moleskin bag with a rope threaded through the top. "Here." I tossed it in her direction and she caught it. The gold coins spilt out into her hands and she gazed at them, mesmerised. She opened the gate and handed me the foal's rope, turned on her heel and started up the path without a backwards glance at her companion. I decided to hurry along before her angry father stormed out and gently tugged the foal towards the village. It followed without hesitation- perhaps it was as eager to get away from that house as I was.
▲ ▼ ▲ Story
A knock sounded on the door late at night.
I wasn't too startled. From the moment I'd stepped foot inside the kingdom I knew I'd be confronted by him. The rain was pelting down hard now, and the knock on the door was heavy. I knew if I didn't answer the door would be wrenched open anyway, or kicked down. Not that I minded answering- I'd been waiting for this visit all night.
Behind the door stood a hooded figure drenched in water. He pushed past me roughly and stumbled towards the table. "Not used to a bit of rain, are you, your highness?"
"Just a bit of rain?" The man grumbled. "More than just a bit of rain. And it's cold. Too cold.."
"In the middle of summer?"
"Yes, and I suppose you know why."
"Just because I live near Alburn?"
"Home to many powerful witches. Do you have answers for me?"
"My lord, surely you'll allow me to catch my breath? I've worked Falter to the bone to get here on time and it hasn't been easy on my old bones, either."
"Old bones," he snorted. "Ah, well, fine. Enough time to catch your breath, I suppose."
A smirk played on my lips as I turned and shuffled in to the kitchen. I'd been here for a few hours, but I wasn't surprised it took the fat old gatekeeper a while to waddle up to the castle and inform the king of my arrival.
"Falter looks different. Summer coat?"
"Mud. I didn't want to frighten your villagers- usually my comings in at such late hours unsettles the folk around here."
"My thanks to you. Do you wish to see his foal?"
"Where there not twins born?"
"Ah yes, but one died of illness unfortunately. The female still lives."
"Ah.. well, I'm sure Falter would like to."
"You haven't changed your mind then, yet?"
"I never will."
"Are you certain? We have horses, gold-" the man pressed on.
"The answer is no."

Some info on the revamp contest: All of the revamps so far are freaking amazing ;v;
All of the revamps that have been submitted so far will be accepted with points awarded (even the couple of dual revamps we've had, seeing as I haven't been online to cross them off the list officially and all of them are high quality.)
Once the list is completed if we still have more time before the code drop (which is almost 100% likely at the rate you guys are working at) I will make a second list to allow more point opportunities, and to expand the number of kennels that are getting attention and pretty new pictures.
Thank you SabjeBammie so much for your help on updating the list. I will try to make a list of all of the points awarded so far soon. c:

Shiko went to Boten Anna

And Takumi is in the current round but will go out this code drop :3
Can these users please message me? I have a large amount of additional art that I want to remove from my computer but I need you all to save it before I am able to do so. No message = the art will be deleted forever.
