I would like to adopt!
Number:
10

Picture:
Image

Name:
Sae (Pronounced Say)

Species:
Smili (an awesome species if you don't mind me saying so, Spotty :3)

Personality:
Laid- back, cool, friendly, loyal and loving. He cares for his loved ones so much, some say too much, that he would happily lay down his life for them.
He can sometimes be a little inconsiderate of others and doesn't think about things before they come out of his mouth. And while this can lead him into tricky situations, his charm usually leads him back out of them.

Likes:
The cold, very much. His family (human and animal alike), food, and a warm place to sleep. People being kind/ making a fuss over him.

Dislikes:
Too much work, being forced into things, heat (almost like a phobia), betrayal, being threatened.

Background (Optional, but it gives you a better shot)

Sae was born to the Song Chase, a tribe of people who have been living unknown to the rest of the world on the arctic ice. They use animals a lot as they spend much of their lives travelling, and Sae has always shared his home with Huskies, Wolves and other dogs, some of whom he is quite friendly with.
He has worked nearly every day of his life, from clearing snow drifts to hauling sledges. He learned to work closely with humans and other animals from a very young age, so he is very rarely afraid of any creature.
He doesn't know life outside the Song Chase, so he does not long for it. To him it seems that outside the protection of his humans the world is a white, cold wilderness, devoid of purpose. What is life with no-one to work for? No-one to tell you what to do, and reward you when you do it? No routine, no waking up to the dogs barking on the morning of a move, no satisfaction of pulling the children of the tribe on the sledges to their new home? No friends?
Freedom, he thinks, is overrated. The Humans he knows are good, kind people. He is well fed and loved by all. He is a favourite with the children because of his calm temperament, easy to work with and easy to be friends with.

The reason he is so protective of those he loves is this. A few years ago, when he was barely an adult, there was an incident which killed a young wolf he was head- over- heels in love with, Klie.

"Moving on already?"
Sae stood up, brushing snow from his coat. "Seems like only yesterday we arrived..."
Klie smiled. "It was two weeks ago, Sae. Don't you remember? we ran into that massive herd of Reindeer when we came up from the south"
"Oh" he licked his lips and snuffled the air, his breath making white puffs in the cold. "Yes, that was a good day"
Klie trotted away and he sighed. She liked him as a friend, but she never looked at him any other way. Why would she? Couples between species were uncommon and tended to be frowned upon, and Klie was always talking about what people thought of her. That, it seemed, was the most important thing for her.
And still he loved her so.
His Pack-Human was laughing and patting his neck. Sae considered himself quite an expert on Human speech, and he would listen for hours outside their dens trying to work out what they were saying.
"Head in the clouds, Sae?" He was whispering in his ear. Sae snuffled his shoulder and padded after him to the sledge.
This Human was the one who always drove Sae's sledge, and had done most of his training with him when he was little. He loved him most of all.
Sae was hitched up to the sledge carrying the shelters and cooking equipment. He didn't like pulling this one much as everything rattled and felt like it was going to fall of every time he went over a bump, but he tried not to complain even when something did fall off and he had to stop so quickly the sledge crashed into him from behind while the Pack- Human ran back to get it.
They stopped for the night beneath tall ice cliffs, sheltered from the wind. The animals were tethered to several poles a little way from the camp, though this was not so much to make sure that they didn't run away as to make sure no-one tried to steal them. Good sled dogs were few and far between out here.
Sae drifted off to sleep with his tail curled round his paws and nose, but was woken a few hours later by a rustling sound.
He had the best hearing in the group, so it appeared none of the others had heard it yet. He woke Glade, the other Smili in the group, who was tethered to the same pole as him. They stared out into the night, trying to work out what it was.
Sae spotted a large, white shape near the Human's shelters. It moved slowly, coming towards them.
A bear. These were the only creatures Sae was afraid of. All the animals in the Tribe were trained to be. It could snap the neck of one of the dogs in seconds.
At that moment a loud bark rang out in the night. One of the dogs had woken, and panicked.
The other dogs awoke, and the panicked barking spread from one to the other like a disease. Soon the snow rang with the sound, and the bear, having spotted them, stood up on it's hind legs.
Sae stared. So many dogs making such a noise should have frightened it off...
A moment later, though, he discovered why it hadn't turned and fled. Another bear, bigger than the first, appeared at it's side.
The dogs barked louder, straining to break free from their tethers.
From far above, there was a rumble.
The bears began advancing slowly towards them, oblivious. But Sae watched, horrified and helpless, as a small chunk of ice detatched from the top of the cliff far above and plummeted towards the ground.
One of the bears broke into a run.
There was a sharp CRACK.
It seemed to happen in slow motion. Some of the humans came running out of the closest shelter.
A bear struck out at one of the dogs, breaking it's neck with its heavy paw.
And half of the cliffside above fell, slowly, slowly, towards the ground, deafening him as it struck the snow. The resounding boom could be heard for miles around.

Every animal tethered to the three poles closest to the cliff was killed, along with the two Polar bears and two shleters full of Humans.
Sae's pack- human was safe, but Klie was gone, buried beneath tons of ice.
Sae was devastated. He could barely pull the sledge the few miles to the river the next day. His Pack- Human, who had lost a good friend, was not much better. It took a long, long time for Song Chase to recover.

Sae's sadness did not change to anger and loathing and fear. It changed to protectivity. He saw that if he cared about someone, he had to protect them to stop something like this happening again. Had he not been so frightened and confused, he could have snapped his tether and saved Klie. But, being young and not entirely sure what was happening, he hadn't been able to gather his thoughts enough to do anything. He vowed, never again.

Sae made many new friends since, but never has never fallen in love again. Glade, the other Smili, has always been his best friend, and he knows he will never look on her any other way.
As for the Tribe, they have never made camp under a cliff again.

Phew. Well, all I can say is, I love Spotty's Smilis very much, and I hope I have done enough to deserve one. If not, I will be back to try again XD
Sorry, stupid question, but when does this round end?

Number: 8
Picture:Image
Name: Montmartre (Monty for short)
Species: Smili
Personality: Monty is rather quiet and shy for a Smili, though still kind. He uses sarcasm as his main form of defence and can be rather cruel if provoked. He is completely undiplomatic and tends to tell people the blunt truth, whether it's a good idea or not. Despite his biting remarks and cold exterior, Monty can be very naive and too trusting for his own good. He often seems very innocent. He is extremely intelligent and so tends to look down on others with a lower IQ than him. He is a stubborn as a mule and won't do anything that he doesn't want to do. He is usually very solemn and contemplative, preferring to listen rather than talk, unless he has something important to say. He is insatiably curious, another thing that often gets him into trouble.

Likes: Snow, cold, quiet, wide open spaces, order, patterns (he can spend hours organising a pile of stones in, what he thinks, is the 'right' way), running in the rain, blizzards

Dislikes: closed in places, sudden loud noises, sunny days, cages, metal, mud, being forced to do things

Background: Monty was born to a small family group of him, his parents and 1 surviving sibling, high up in the mountains and away from any human contact. Monty's litter was born during a snowstorm and one cub died soon after the birth. Monty's brother, Albi, barely survived the winter but just managed to pull through. Monty's father stayed long enough to raise the siblings well, something Monty was eternally grateful for, but left soon after they were old enough to fend for themselves. Monty, Albi and their mother stayed together in a group, hunting for what little food there was to be found in the mountains, until their mother died of pneumonia during one particularly bad winter. Albi and Monty stayed together for a few more years, until..

"Mont? is that you?"
"Yes Albi" the dappled grey Smili said in a voice, slightly muffled by what looked like a small ball of fluff. He shook a mound of snow from his back, spraying it in all directions, before making his way to his brother. "Found another squirrel" he said, dropping the limp animal at his brother's paws and padding to his corner of the cave that they shared.

"First one this month" muttered Albi, sinking his teeth into the squirrel's flesh and pulling a large chunk of meat from it. He looked up at Monty and gestured with a white paw to the squirrel, inviting him to eat and shrugging when the larger Smili shook his head, grey mane flopping from side to side. "Suit yourself" he replied, ripping off another strip of meat. Monty let out a small sigh and stretched out of the cave floor, head resting in dark grey paws. His amber eyes were distant, seeming to be focussed on the blizzard raging outside but not really seeing it.

"Albi?" he said, in a voice that seemed very unsure
"Yes?"
"Haven't you ever wondered where he went?"
"Who?" Albi inquired, swallowing a mouthful of squirrel that seemed to be mostly fur
"Our father"
"Nope"
"What, never?"
"Noooo"
"Well, don't you want to know what happened to him? He is our father, after all"
"He may be, but he left. Why should we try to follow him?"
Monty sighed again, more audibly this time. "That's what I thought you'd say"
Monty pushed himself up into a standing position and began padding slowly towards the cave entrance. Albi looked up in surprise and jogged to stand in front of his brother, blocking the way out. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Away from here"
"Why!" Albi asked in a plaintive voice tinged with alarm
"Why not Albi? We've never been beyond the mountains. Aren't you even the slightest bit curious to find out what's out there. Our father did it, he left, why can't we?"
"Why would we want to?" Albi's voice was terrified now"We've got a good life here Mont, we're alive, we've got each other. Don't ruin that... Don't leave me"
Monty closed his eyes, using his superior strength to push past his brother and out of the cave. "I'm sorry Albi" he said in a voice, almost to quiet to hear over the roaring of the blizzard. He began walking away from the cave, never looking back, never seeing his brother again.

I am the sword in the darkness.
I am the watcher on the wall
I am the fire that burns against cold
The light that brings the dawn
The horn that wakes the sleepers
The shield that guards the realms of men
For this night, and all nights to come.

'Kill the boy, Jon Snow. Winter is almost upon us.
Kill the boy and let the man be born'

Number:4

Picture: Image

Name:Storm

Species:Horse

Personality:Friendly, brave, outgoing, lovable, kind, nice, caring

Likes: Sunlit meadows she can frolick arounf in

Dislikes: Rain

Background:
There once was a foal born. Not just any foal. This foal was Storm. Storm was the nicest horse in her herd. But that was not her herds way. Her herds way was to bully other herd into giving up their nice lush meadows. Storm did not like that. So one night, when she got sick and tired of not being liked and being picked on, she ran away. Storm was just a year old, but she new how to care for herself.

She traveled for days on end until she came to a wonderful small little meadow where butterflies flew and a cave was for shelter. She lived there for two years in a happy life, until her old herd found out about that place. They invaded her, chasing her out and hurting her. She had no choice but to run.

And run she did. She ran on and on for forever. It took her months to find another place ot live. She found a very large valley. It was much like her last home, but much bigger. It even had a little cave to live in. She got a nest of leaves and grass and went to sleep.

The nest morning she was woken by a soft neigh. She raised her head and found a handsome black stallion of about her age with a friendly look in his eyes. Strom quikly got up. "I am sorry, is this your home?" she said. "In fact, it is. But that's okay. You looked tired. I'm Thunder. Who are you?" he said. "I'm Storm. Look, i really shouldn't stay long." "Oh, it's quit alright. I'd love your company." "Okay, then I'll stay!"

They stayed together for quit some time. One, stary night, the two were lying out under the stars and Storm said, "Aren't they beautiful?" "Like you? Will you be my mate, my love?" asked Thunder. "Of course," replied Storm.

The two liived in happieness for a while until Storms old herd found there home. While hiding, Storm told Thunder all about her old herd. Thunder then said, "Go! Run! Don't worry about me! I am standing up to them!" "But my love......" Thunder pushed Storm off, and the she ran, worring about her beloved Thunder as she ran and heard his torchered screams behind her.

It was a hard life for Storm. She never had enough food and/or shelter. She moved often. She often dreamed of that one stary night when she could sleep. Her Thunder never left her mind.

When Storm was about to give up and let herself die of hunger and pain, she came across Thunder and her's old feild. Sadness welled inside her at the thought of her Thunder. Then she heard hoofs beeting the ground and started to turn, in fear of her old herd. Then she heard, "Storm! Oh my gosh it's you!" And she turned to see her beloved Thunder galloping towards her. She could barley move she was so tired and hungry she could only manage a small trot to him. "I missed yu so much, Thunder. "she said when they reached each other. "As i did you. My gosh what happened to you! Come, we'll get you into a nice warm nest and some grass to eat." he took good care of her and nursed her back to health. She never asked what happened to her old herd, and never wanted to. All that mettered was that she was here, with Thunder.
