well, most of the time you can tell by how they look, most of the time: boys will be blues, greens, and tan-oranges, girls will be pinks, purples, silvers, etc
if you want, you are able to buy the gender signs in the store, but they cant be added to squirrels with wings, tail balloons, or PPS's :3

I think so, since sometimes, the colors don't match the genders. Also, can we breed two different species? Can we breed a PPS?

you are able to breed any squirrel, as long as there is a girl and a boy, not 2 girls or 2 boys :3 and once they are bred, the genders stay how they are and they cannot be bred with any other squirrel
